FSV Frankfurt - Union Berlin

The team from Frankfurt FSV has lost the last 3 duels with Union but going into the game very self confident according to the 9 Points out of the last 4 matches. Although Union had a good start under new Coach Lewandowski but it was not all well by the 3-0 win in Karlsruhe and also it was seen with the 1-2 home defeat under him. What was the first big disappointment right now. If they do not want to lose the contact to the places above they have to win this encounter, it is almost a must for them.

After the first matches you saw where the problems for FSV lies. They have a lot of problems if they play at home and could only collect 3 Points there. They do not have the players to control or make a game, they are more a team for counter attacks. The outcome away from home is much better with 7 Points. But Coach Oral did not allow such statements and he is very pleased with his team and he is very confident that they can also play a good home game. Additional he mentioned that they could have won all home games with a bit of luck too. But it is a process and they are learning from match to match and it is sure that the team and the structure is very good and he allows them to make mistakes.
Compared the to last game in Duisburg 1-0 are not many changes expected despite 3 matches in 7 days. Also the tactic with 4-4-2 should be the same as they did very well although they had a lot of luck that MSV did not score. All parts of the team has a lot to improve after the last game. It is not obvious that he changes something in the offense because with Dedic he has a player for counter attacks and Kapllani has his strength more if they must control the game and also is a box player..

Coach Lewandowski was very pleased with the first 45 minutes against Fürth but he was not so surprised that they lose the control of the game in second half totally. He said that they want to be an active team, former Coach Düwel let play more passive and for this reason he was not surprised. The team have to learn from match to match and he wants to give them some solutions on hand but they should not to be so impatient. After the 3-0 win in Karlsruhe he hopes for the same outcome in Frankfurt what will let them work much more relaxed as getting nothing there. According to the performance from the team was ok he does not want to changes something here. It was only the standard kicks from Gjasula who made the difference in the game against Fürth. Therefore he can not blame his team anything. Maybe due to less alternatives he allow the same mates to recover. With Thiel, Nikci and Schönheim are anyway three players not available.

Very close encounter where two team meet each other who have a lot of problems at the moment. If in defensive or offensive, they produce a lot of mistakes. FSV Frankfurt plays more conservative while Union is an active team what change this home game a bit and FSV can go for counter because of more space while Union is able to control the game. Both should be much stronger and able to create some opportunities what allow them to score goals because both defending lines are not the strongest. Maybe they face not the optimal opponent with Braunschweig because after having a very awful and slow start Braunschweig is in great shape now. MSV Coach Lettieri was not very pleased with the 0-1 lose to FSV Frankfurt some days ago. He had seen a good playing offensive from Duisburg but they were not able to use best possible opportunities to score. It was maybe very unlucky to lose this encounter. He hopes that they can create the same amount again and this time they finish all their good actions. He saw a team in the right way, they missed only to score goals but as always in football some days later you get a new chance to recover and for this he hopes greatly. Normally he should be fired already but it is only due to the huge injury problems they face he got a chance again. But sooner or later he has to deliver results otherwise that was it for him in Duisburg. Maybe if they get some success back with a win they maybe play much more relaxed and believe in them again.
Squad wise they have one more player out due to the red card from Albutat against FSV on sunday. We said it already, on all parts are alternatives like Schönfeld in midfield or Ofosu-Ayeh for the back wing and also in offensive with Hochscheidt and Zuck. In attack Berggreen has a huge advantage right now as Ademi and Hvilsom are not 100% fit at the moment.

The home side has different problems and they would be happy if they stand on place 12 at the end of the Season. They know the business very well there as they were relegated after one Season after promotion two years ago. This time they want to do a better job but for this they have to start to score goals in their own stadium too. They were not able to score a single goal in 3 home matches and also could not win one there.

Coach Meier was very pleased with he outcome and the game from his team in Freiburg. They did the job there and got a Point against a team who are aiming for more. Maybe this can be a good reason for them today too. They get more space against a team who is very offensive minded and where they do not make the game, they can go on counter attacks like some days ago. The defensive line looked very compact against Freiburg only in the end where they stand under huge pressure they made some mistakes but in first half it was really well.
Compared to the match in Freiburg there is no reason for Coach Meier to changes anything. He has not the alternatives anyway as with Strifler, Brinkmann, Müller, Salger and additional van der Biezen are a lot of alternatives out due to injury. Maybe a changes can be made on the wing where Hemlein has an uptrend but he could not convince also like all the other players on this position. Therefore maybe Affane can be a good choice here and the next test for Meier, but it is very open of course.

Bochum's run was stopped in the last two games although they did not lose but they lost the first Points. But Coach Verbeek is very pleased with the team and the outcome so far. He wants to bring the same starting lineup for the eighth time now. He does not like to changes or rotate much. He said that all the players are fit and why should he changes anything or rest some players for the next game. He mentioned that they have training normal and prepared to this game as always. The players are all young and they recover very fast. He wants to count on his strongest lineup of course, also because of the huge respect he has for the home side. He spoke very well from Arminia who is very compact and has a lot of fighting spirit and play very organized. Also they do not allow many opportunities to score goals therefore they have to be warned and ahead of all the actions to be very effective. The only changes he has to made was to replace injured Nando Raffael. He will be replaced by Novikovas on bench for today.

1.FC Kaiserslautern - 1.FC Nürnberg

These two teams had meet each other several times in 1.Bundesliga already but times has changed hardly for both. They are aiming for more in 2.Bundesliga but it is far away because both has a lot of problems. Of course they want soon back in 1.Bundesliga but FCK is trying it some years now and failed always while Nürnberg had a hard last Season after were relegated from 1.Bundesliga. This is their second Season in a row there now but they are doing only average and this is too less for the top.

After two defeats in a row Kaiserslautern got a Point in Munich by 1860. Coach Runjaic said that this was a step forward but if you have watched the game it was nothing form them. If they lose this encounter it is not sure if he sit on bench at the weekend. The pressure is high and he has to deliver results according to their big aim promotion.
Before the game in Munich he has changed the defensive line what is expected to be the same again. In this case Ziegler got the advantage against Vucur while ahead in midfield plays Ring central. On the wings are Halfar and Jenssen candidates. But overall they have to be much more powerful and bring the offense from FCK rolling. According to the last games it was harmless and therefore some changes in attack maybe possible. It is not far away that Görtler gets a chance today because Coach Runjaic talked very well from him. Out of the starting lineup are Pich or Piossek, one of them are for sure on bench but it can be both because they missed almost all lately. Also attacker Przybylko could not convince in the last games, the only good game he had in opening game against Duisburg. All the other matches were weak and he wasted a lot.

After 10 Points out of 4 home games Nürnberg coming to "Betzenberg" to collect the first Points on the road. They are very harmless away from home and they coming with 3 defeats in bag. Coach Weiler mentioned that they have to be much more active and accept the fight. Compared to the last game changes can be as Coach Weiler said with 3 games in 1 week he has to find the right balance and look which player has the freshness to help the team right now. But overall it is not expected that he changes much above all after the good game against Sandhausen on sunday. In this case defender Bulthuis can remain in central back maybe although Margreitter is back from illness and ready. What gives Coach Weiler a good option for a change.
It is very exciting with which midfield he wants to begin here. With Behrens and Leibold were two guys very good against Sandhausen but with Polak coming a player in who scored and maybe decide the match with his goal. But on "Betzenberg" where they face surely a very hot atmosphere it can be good to have some experienced player in team like Polak. The other positions maybe remain unchanged. After the first victory this Season for Union what was an excellent debut for new Coach Lewandowski they hope of course to continue the way from last weekend. But this can be a very hard encounter for Union, coming Fürth to them with a derby win against Nürnberg in the bag what give them a lot of self confidence back after average results recently. Also they are one of the opponents who like to play in Berlin, they have with 5 wins and 2 draws by only 1 defeat a very good record by Union. It is maybe something like an fear opponent for them. If they want to be successful they have to fight hard to get the second win at home against Fürth.

It was seen this week that it is a huge pleasure for Lewandowski to be on the sideline for Union and in front of so a great crowd today. He said that he is very proud to train Union now but he lies the focus also on the opponent which is very hard to play and they must be ahead of all actions above all in defensive. He thinks that Fürth has the power to hurt them and they should be warned. He has a lot of respect of the offensive form Fürth because they had scored 10 goals already in 6 matches.
The first match with Union and the win in Karlsruhe was fantastic but he wants to changes his starting lineup a bit. Because he has some important players back with Kessel and Brandy what gave him more options. Nevertheless it would be not as easy to come in for Kessel and Brandy after their suspension. They have to play maybe different positions as before but if they can start they will do it, of course. Kessel played central while he has to move to the right back wing as Leistner and Puncec made a great job in Karlsruhe therefore they are seeded in central back. This can be that Trimmel move forward and replace Korte there in offensive because he was one of the weaker players there. The second one Brandy has to wait, it is very open what position he should play. The offensive guys with Wood and Skrzybski did a great job last time, maybe he think about an tactical change and let Brandy play behind the attack instead on the wing or attack. If Lewandowski choose this option Zejnullahu can be a candidate to be out of the starting lineup and only on bench. With all the moves Kreilach must play a bit more defensive minded and maybe beside Fürtner that they are not too open and allow to much space.

In Fürth they are all hoping that the derby win gave some more self confidence and believe in their strength for the upcoming matches. Coach Ruthenbeck talk that they want to continue this way and collect some more Points as they have done in recent matches. They want to get something in Berlin but he said also that they have to play a little bit better as in the last matches.
Apart from Korcsmar and Lam he has all players available and therefore a lot to choose from. The alternatives and options are there for him, he has to form only the right starting lineup to get a good balance between defensive and offensive play. But compared to the last game it is not so far that he trusts the same guys again according to the slogan, never change a winning team. But winning goal scorer Freis is a real alternative in attack for him. He has made some self advertising against Nürnberg and let Coach Ruthenbeck thinking about him but with Berisha and Kumbela he has two very good strikers who did his job lately. One of the winner in team is offensive player Weilandt who has found his form now and is very important with his solo attempts to create more opportunities. In central midfield was the change to a more compact lineup with Hofmann and Sukalo the right choice.

1.FC Nürnberg - SV Sandhausen

It was not the expected start from Nürnberg into the new Season. They had so many hopes before the Season starts but the outcome is very different right now, with only 7 Points from 6 matches. It they do not want to have the next average Season they should win this home game today. Additional it is a must if they do not want to get much more pressure above all after the lot derby against Fürth last weekend. One of the surprise teams was Sandhausen, who played really fresh offensive football and they scored a lot and the results were also very good. It is as always in Nürnberg, a lot of trouble after bad results and the first one who is in danger is Coach Weiler. But nevertheless they have to look forward and Coach Weiler has an eye on the match today already.

What personal he wants to bring on the pitch for the next home win he does not mentioned. But if he is talking like this it can be that many positions are very open and he is not sure yet. With Möhwald, Polak and Behrens Coach Weiler can choose.

A lot of rumors in Sandhausen above all Coach Schwarz has some offers form other clubs but he wants to stay in Sandhausen what he said so far. He talked also a lot from Nürnberg and he does not want that his team underestimate them although they are not in good shape. He said also that Nürnberg is very hard to play above all in their stadium and they need a very good day to get something there. But if we can bring all the power on the pitch we showed already it is not so far that they can win was also a statement form him.
Not many changes expected compared to the last game at home to Bochum. Although some of the bench players made some noise with their good trainings performance above all Zillner and Stolz. Defender Kister got injured against Bochum but he is in the starting lineup and plays with mask today. One of the key players Bouhaddouz is missed huge in their offensive play, he was one who could make the difference but at the moment he needs some time. He may returns into team training next week but the matches under the week and on weekend are to early.

SC Paderborn - Karlsruher SC

The Season is not old but we have the first duel where both teams face a big slump right now. Most of the experts were right that Paderborn has a really hard Season ahead, with only 3 Points they are almost on the bottom at the moment and with 4 defeats in a row the mood would not be the best there anyway. The team from Karlsruhe started bad with two defeats but maybe came back on track with two wins but the last two games were the same as to begin. They conceded 9 and scored zero in the last two what is a big disappointment for them. According to both Teams situations it is a very important match before we have an english week.

After signing unknown and unexperienced Coach Gellhaus Paderborn want to go a different way to other clubs but after the first Rounds it looks like that this has been the wrong decision. Coach Gellhaus stands under huge pressure today, this was mentioned from President Finke already. He has to deliver results otherwise they have to go different ways. He knows the situation well and he wants to bring a team on the pitch which is on good condition. They want to bring in some passion and fighting spirit to get the fans back on their side and also the results.
The situation in squad has changed a bit and the options are a bit more as one week ago. In this case captain Bakalorz is back and can take the place from youngster Schonlau. It is very possible that Bakalorz plays beside Kirch in central midfield, both have a lot of experience and they should help to be very compact against the ball. Also back in squad is Heinloth but he is maybe on bench first after Ndjeng made his job well. The biggest hope lies on Lakic who returns from injury and is in the squad the first time this Season. He should help to get more dangerous in the box after scoring only 3 goals so far. If he is already in the starting lineup is open but if not he comes in as joker for sure.

The start into the new week was not so well for the players form KSC. They had to talk a lot about the 0-3 against Union Berlin. Coach Kauczinski had a lot of work to do to present all mistakes and also tactical things to his players. They made a lot of them and this was the key for this trainings week and preparation to Paderborn. After all the Sessions he was very pleased about his team and he was also very happy to see some improvement what allows him to be very confident about the game today.
After this week he thinks about changes, Gouaida was two times joker but this time he start from beginning on. The place for Gouaida is on the left wing what allow Yamada to move forward on central midfield position behind the attack despite his average shape. This means that youngster Mehlem is out of the starting lineup and on bench now. Also possible is that Nazarov who has some great actions against Union comes into the starting lineup and plays behind alone attacker Hoffer. Not many alternatives are there at the moment in attack who can put some pressure on Hoffer because with Diamantakos they have one but he suffers an injury problem. Not available is midfield player Meffert who is ill. According to Meffert's absent Peitz needs a new partner beside him in central midfield. The options or alternatives are Prömel who said that this is his lovely position and he would take it immediately but also Krebs has played there several times, therefore it is up to Kauczinski which one he will field.

SC Freiburg - Arminia Bielefeld

This encounter takes place in Freiburg when relegated SC hosts promoted Arminia from Bielefeld. The home side has found really far a very good balance and style of play what allowed them to start very well and collect 15 from 18 possible Points so far. They are only one Point behind leader Bochum and additional some Points ahead to third place already. Their aim was the immediately promotion anyway and also almost all experts were very keen about them. The opponent from Bielefeld is fresh promoted and they could hold the motivation high so far as the results were good although they are winless at home. Nevertheless they could get 7 Points and stands in the middle of the table what should be a great success for them if they managed the same place to the end of the Season.

Coach Streich praises Arminia if he has to talk from them and has a lot of respect too. They played really well so far, were very compact and have a good balance between defensive and offensive. Also they are running and fighting like hell and the most important thing maybe the cross balls into the box where attacker Klos is very dangerous then. Therefore Coach Steich requires from his team to be ahead of all actions and press a lot against the ball what need a very good team play today.

Compared to last match on “Betzenberg” it is the same starting lineup expected, maybe only one change can be made by Streich. In central back he has a lot of players ready, with Höhn he has a sure starter while both youngsters Föhrenbach and Kempf replaced suspended veteran Torrejon very well. They did a great job and are really replacements in this part but with the return from Torrejon after suspension he should start beside Höhn today. For sure in starting lineup remain Guede who is very important for Streich, because he can play a lot of positions and make him a good weapon if less alternatives are there. He replaces injured Grifo again who was in great shape before his injury but Guede could bring the performance which was needed to help the team. 

On the injury list are the same players as in recent weeks. With Kleindienst, Kübler, Möller Daehli and of course Grifo. Overall not a big problem at all for the game today.

On the press conference Coach Meier talked a lot from Freiburg. He knew the quality and potential from this team and he said also that they are absolutely favorite today. But he does not make some gifts, he wants to see a good organized and powerful team who fights all the 90 minutes and hurts SCF. He mentioned also that they do not have real pressure for this game, they can play without any fear and look forward what they are able to get. Also they want to be as effective as they can and use all their created actions. 

They have to go into the game with the same available players like last week. According to their injury list they misses Strifler, Brinkmann, Müller and Salger. Normally this should be not the problem at all because they are missed some weeks now. For Salger plays Behrendt again in central back. In midfield they may field 3 players who are more defensive minded with Schütz focused absolutely on defensive while Ulm should bring the offensive motor rolling. An alternative for Ulm is also very quick Jopek who can create a lot with his fast moves but he is also a good option in second half. In attack one change is sure, top striker Klos returns after he has to pass last weekend due to infect. This time he is back and gives Meier a lot of hope as he is one of the key players for Bielefeld. With him back Nöthe maybe has to move to the left or right offensive wing where he can be an alternative to Görlitz or Hemlein. Whatever Coach Meier has to choose from these guys.

Here we have an encounter which should be clear on paper but we have also two sides which are very powerful. I am very pleased with the match up, Freiburg change in central back again, what may allow Bielefeld to take some advantage with Klos up front. They are also much more dangerous if they paly away from home where they can go for counter attacks what they prefer much more as control the game. On the other side has Freiburg a lot of offensive power and also the weapons to break through the defensive from Bielefeld. In this case I am very keen on goals in this match.

FSV Mainz 05 - 1899 Hoffenheim

Statistic:

- Mainz lost only 2 of their 12 BL games against 1899 Hoffenheim (6-4-2).
- 1899 Hoffenheim is still winless this Season (0-1-4).
- None of the teams are waiting for so long time for an away win as 1899.
- They could not win one of their last 4 road games (0-1-3).
- No team lost more games 2015 as 1899 Hoffenheim (12), also Stuttgart.

FSV has already two wins on their side and they can go into the game much more relaxed as their opponent who has only 1 Point after 4 Rounds and sit almost on the bottom of the table. Only two teams are behind them with Gladbach and Stuttgart.

FSV is a solid team and Coach Schmidt knows to motivate his team or maybe find the right balance between defensive and offensive. They are a team who is very hard to play. After the unlucky match in Schalke they want to get back on track and celebrate with their fans the win. But before they have to do hard work, with almost the same starting lineup they should be able to overcome 1899 above all in their actual form. Maybe some changes in defensive, if Brosinki who has not the best day in Schalke will be replaced Bengtsson is an option, also Bussmann maybe. But this is not decided yet.

After the next disaster Coach Gisdol has a lot of work to do with his team and he has to find the right balance above all the offensive is very shaky. A lot of players are not in form as well. The new signings need still time to be better involved in the play but also the defensive has made a lot of mistakes recently. Normally a lot of potential in 1899 squad on paper but on pitch it is much different. The more offensive minded 4-4-2 can be changed to a more compact 4-2-3-1. Also the offensive wings has a lot of options with Volland, Schmid, Vargas, Zuber, Schmid and Elyounoussi. A lot to choose for Coach Gisdol but he must find the right players and the most important point is that they must work together as team.

If you compare both teams there can be only one outcome at the moment but 1899 look peaky and this can be very dangerous for Mainz.

FC St. Pauli - MSV Duisburg

The Round will be closed with the match between St. Pauli and MSV Duisburg. The home side had an excellent start into the Season but got their first defeat before the national break. Despite the bad feeling over 2 weeks after the lost game in Frankfurt they worked hard to start well now. The motivation should be there for sure because with a win they can climb up to third place. The opponent from Duisburg is winless so far. The newcomer had a hard start and they showed a lot of weakness in their play what allowed them not to get the Points. Nevertheless the last game was very appealing and an uptrend was seen. Maybe the first win is coming soon.

St. Pauli’s Coach Lienen is not very happy with the role as favorite here. He said that it is a very hard match for them and they know where they have come from. The good start does not say that they win here although the opponent was very weak in the past. They have to do their job and it is absolutely nonsense against they play. They can collect the next Points today nothing more, nothing less.

The starting lineup can be the same as last game but one time they must change according to the absent from Nehrig. Beside him they miss Miyaichi, Gonther and also Kalla. This means that they have some problems on the back right back wing. In friendly some days ago played there Deichmann where they lost to Dortmund 1-2. Some good news are that Buchtmann and Mayer are ready after slight injuries. But they must be 100% fit and bring a good performance otherwise the new signed players behind get a chance with Dudziak and Picault. Above all Dudziak gave a positive debut against Dortmund and showed that they are a guy to start.

A lot of trouble in Duisburg above all Coach Lettieri has not the best standing there. Before the game against Fürth he stands under huge pressure, his team got a result with 2-2 but not all are pleased with him. In and around the club they believe more and more if they suck him to get a better future. In this case it is very important to get results or better wins. He said that the team has worked very well in two weeks now and he hopes that they are able to bring all the positive power on the pitch today. 

Despite he stands under huge pressure he has to think absolutely positive although he has a lot of players not available due to injuries. With Bröker, Janjic, de Wit, Poggenberg, Brandstetter, Klotz and not 100% fit Hajri he has to replace 7 players today. Also with Dausch he has a player who has huge back problems and is very doubtful for this encounter. For new signing Obinna they do not have the papers therefore he has no permission to play today. In attack maybe gets Iljutcenko a new chance after Brandstetter’s injury. If Dausch must pass Grote and Bohl are the options.

Bayern München - FC Augsburg

This is normal an unfair match, Bayern Munich is high flying and has much more potential and also budget while Augsburg has a lot of problems after their great Season and their best result in club history. But of course you never know in football and surprises happen sometimes but with the actual form of both teams it is almost impossible that Augsburg get the win in Munich. 

Nothing has changed until last Season, Bayern Munich is running from win to win. Moreover they looked much stronger as last Season and this is a real wake up call for all rivals. With 3 wins from 3 matches they kept a clean sheet so far, only Borussia Dortmund could follow them and stand on top because of more scored goals. It looks like it can be a real fight between these two rivals this Season. If Wolfsburg is able to compete with both after losing De Bryne to ManCity is more as doubtful. Nevertheless Bayern has a lot of potential and with new signing Costa and Coman they have good replacements for Ribery and Robben. Above all Costa could show his skills in all the games already and he is able to replace Ribery even right now, therefore no one is talking from Ribery and his injury right now. One big blow they have to handle because with Robben returns a player from national team injured. He is out for 4 weeks now. This can be the chance for Coman already, if Guardiola does not trust the youngster they have some other options too. Müller can play on the wing as well, and allow Götze to start behind lone striker Lewandowski.

After the best Season in their club history Augsburg has a lot of problems to begin of the new Season although the European League has not started yet. With this additional matches and trips they lose a lot of energy what cost them some Points maybe this Season too. All smaller clubs has shown this and why should Augsburg has the better outcome, because of the difference to other teams? No way, they are getting a lot of problems this Season and they must look forward and invest all their possible available energy to turn things the right way. With only 1 Point out of 3 matches they had not the best start and not the expected one, the pressure is getting higher and higher from game to game if they start not winning immediately. Coach Weinzierl is working hard on the problems, above all in offensive they have a lot to improve. In all the last games they wasted a lot and if they are not able to use their good opportunities they can not win matches. Although they has signed some good players to strength their team they have not found each other right now. The balance was much better last Season, where they should work on. With a big giant ahead they can only hope for a good day and maybe for a surprise with their actual form.

Karlsruher SC - Union Berlin

Both teams were counted to the promotion candidates before the Season form the Experts but both could not convince so far. They are far from good at the moment and a lot of problems are there by both. KSC has 3 defeats already and two wins and coming to Braunschweig before the national break and were absolutely trashed there with 0-6. This was one of the biggest disappointments from them after losing relegation battle to Hamburg. On the other side has Union Berlin only 1 defeat so far but could not win much too. With only 4 draws they are almost at the bottom, only wins let them climb up in the table. After their last game they was not so convinced with the team and Coach Düwel was fired, now they have signed a young and talented Coach who has a lot of experience with young players and also showed his skills in Leverkusen as Head Coach already. The new one Lewandowski should lead them to a better future after the project Düwel failed.

All in Karlsruhe are very helpless and they can not explain why they had lost 0-6 to Braunschweig before the break. According to the long national break they had a lot to suffer on this harsh defeat. But they said that they want revenge what let them maybe more working as a team from today on. Coach Kauczinski mentioned that he does not change much in the long break but he wants to work hard with his team to get much better results after the break. Also they have to be very silent and do their work, nothing else.
Some changes in the starting lineup are more as possible after last game. He has some options in mind but let it more as open therefore we must gamble a bit with. First one can be that Valentini who is back form injury and 100% fit replace Prömel on the right back wing. Also on the other back wing we may have a change where Kempe has the better chances as Sallahi who had an average day in Braunschweig. Also new signing Gouaida stands before his starting debut after only coming in against Braunschweig. Very doubtful is if Barry is in the starting lineup but he face a slight injury anyway. For him can play Yamada and may play on his lovely position central in midfield where he had his best matches. New signing Diamantakos is also in the squad and a good option as joker, if they need some power in attack.

New Coach Lewandowski has not changed much in the break, he has done the work what Düwel has still planned. They were in trainings camp where he has the time to meet his new team well. They trained very hard with his team there and he hopes that they can allow him to bring his idea already on the pitch today. He wants to see fighting spirit, self confidence and some good solutions in close actions. Also some of the work he has done in trainings camp with tactic, system and so on.
To begin he can not count on all players because with Kessel and Brandy are two suspended while Thiel, Schönheim, Nikci and Daube are all injured. Compared to the last game in Leipzig where 3 of the injured players were in the starting lineup he has to search for alternatives now. For Schönheim could be Puncec an alternative but this means that Parensen moves form the central back on the left wing. In offensive for Thiel and Brandy are Korte and Quiring the next options he has. More changes are still possible but with less alternatives according to the 6 missing player is very hard. Maybe for more compactness he counts on two players in central midfield, Kreilach of course plays beside Fürstner then. Zejnullahu would be out of the team then although he has showed some uptrend in recent matches. Overall it is not an easy first game for Lewandowski to find the right solutions.

Bor. M'Gladbach - Hamburger SV

The open of Round 4 is an important one for both clubs. Two traditional clubs meet each other but they had an awful start into the Season. The home team expect much more as 3 defeats in a row while almost relegated Hamburg is aiming for a better future but they showed almost the same problems as last Season. Both have to improve a lot and this match could be considers as a not to lose one for both.

No one had expect this difficult start from Bor. M’Gladbach who had a great last Season. The changes were not too heavy, only Kruse und Kramer left the club that they are not able to win matches. But this maybe is a different reason so far. With these two guys they lost very important leader in team which are not so easy to replace at the moment. Also important defensive chief Stranzl was out with injury to begin and his partner Dominguez was also not able to play. This brought them in some dangerous and they have to field two youngsters in central back. Of course they made their job well but they still do not have the experience. Additional many players are searching for the form from last Season or they are running behind their form. Players like Xhaka, Herrmann, Raffael, Johnson and Jantschke stands for success last year but they are far from this form right now. The balance is not the best in team as well. Coach Favre’s system is not really understandable, he plays with no striker although he has some with Drimic and Hrgota in hand but he counts more on offensive midfield players like Herrmann, Hazard, Traore, Hahn and Johnson. With Kruse they had the right player last Season who made the difference in front of the goal but he has to think different now, and maybe find the right balance and play with some striker up front as almost all of their offensive players are less dangerous in front of the goal. No real danger in the box right now. With Herrmann they miss their most dangerous player injured too. What makes it not much easier, maybe a win can bring some of their self confidence and believe in better matches back.
Coach Favre must changes a bit, important defender Stranzl is back form injury after 5 month and should be in starting lineup immediately. Central midfield player Xhaka is suspended what means that Stindl move back and take this part before the central back while Traore could replace injured Hermann. Also in attack some options are there with Drimic or Hahn maybe.

The next difficult Season ahead or what should we say after the first 3 matches. Ok, Hamburg has won one of these 3 games but in Munich they were pathetic as always there, at home to Stuttgart they were dominated from VfB, only the yellow red card for Stuttgart’s Klein allowed Hamburg to return into the game and they realized a lucky win with the late goal from defender Djourou. The last one they were much better and played good, took the lead but they were not able to hold this until the end. After Colonge equalized the pressure was enormous what brought them on the losing way. And with the mistake from Spahic and his foul Cologne got a penalty rewarded which Modeste used to the winning goal. It was seen there that HSV is not able to bring over 90 minutes a constant performance what makes it very difficult for them to be successful in the future. They do not want to have the next awful Season and therefore they singed with Hunt from Wolfsburg a central midfield player who should help for more creativity and ideas in their offensive play to be much more dangerous as recently. Nevertheless Coach Labbadia has a lot of work to do with his team.
In central back they miss Spahic suspended, midfield player Kacar can take this part, Müller is also an option on the wing, maybe for youngster Gregoritsch. In attack Lasogga can get a chance and replace Schipplock there. But the decision is of course by Coach Labbadia.

1.FC Kaiserslautern - SC Freiburg

Top match between two very ambitious clubs, both are named from the experts as promotion candidates. Despite both lost a lot of players before the Season they started well. Of course Kaiserslautern has only 8 Points after 5 matches but they can play in the upper league. Also relegated Freiburg started very well and was able to win 4 of their 5 matches what put them in a very good position from beginning on, despite an absolutely new and young team. They showed that promotion can go only over them.

Before the national break conceded Kaiserslautern a very hard 1-3 defeat in Heidenheim, also in a friendly against Luzern they lost 1-5. With all the bad moments and results Coach Runjaic said that Freiburg is absolutely favorite for today’s match. He said that Freiburg has a lot of quality in their squad and overall are very hard to play and beat too. They have to invest a lot and should try to be as nasty as they can and allow Freiburg not to come into the match. They have to come over their fighting spirit and try to hold the game open.

Compared to the last league match in Heidenheim Coach Runjaic counts on the same defensive players although keeper Müller made two mistakes, both lead to goals. But he has had very good performances in all the other games and maybe some good arguments to remain in goal. Central midfield should be the same as well with Karl and Ring while in offensive a lot of changes are expected because they had a lot of problems to create or score recently. In attack could Colak not convince beside Przybylko and is out of the starting lineup where Runjaic loves more to play with one striker. In midfield move Halfar maybe a bit more in the middle where he has more influence for their game. On the wing have two new signings very good chances to start today. With Pissok and Pich they have two players in hand who can be force the offensive play a bit. If Runjaic counts on both maybe Jenssen is out as starter and has a place on bench.

Freiburg’s Coach Streich is warning his team already, he said that they must be aware of the home strength from Kaiserslautern and it is always something special to play on “Betzenberg” in this hot atmosphere and a crowd who push his team the whole 90. Minutes. He saw a very high quality from Kaiserslautern what makes this task a difficult one. But they arrive very motivated there and want to continue their way.

Before the game it is a bit tricky for Streich, misses he some important players like former FCK player Torrejon suspended, also inform midfield motor Grifo who made an absolutely outstanding game against Sandhausen got injured in a friendly game. How long he must pass is not sure but with a knee injury it can be a bit longer maybe. The other absent players are already known with Kübler, Kleindienst and Möller Daehli. Therefore Streich has to replace only two open positions right now, of course if he trusts the others from last game. For Torrejon played Föhrenbach the last matches beside Höhn but with Kempf returns a young and talented player from injury and it is very open whom will field Streich then. For playmaker Grifo they have some options maybe. They must move the midfield players a bit, sure is that Guede starts but on which position is open. He can play in attack beside Petersen or in midfield on the wing.

VfL Bochum - 1860 München

Two traditional teams meet each other with VfL Bochum and 1860 Munich to close Round 5. A new club record is possible for Bochum, who started excellent with 4 wins so far, with the next win, their fifth they can obtain it. Never before they started with 5 wins in a row, therefore they should be motivated. On the other side showed 1860 a real uptrend and they were two times very unlucky in recent games above all against Nürnberg 2-2 and Union 0-0 where they should have deserved the win.

After riding the wave of success Bochum’s Coach is warning that they must prove their performance every week and he is far away from dreaming. Therefore they should be not to arrogant and take this game serious, they have reached nothing so far. He said in an interview that he plans some changes in his starting lineup according to the players who are not 100% fit. It is very open whom he meant with. Maybe he made some distraction with it, to give the opponent some puzzle for this game.

Normally there should be no changes possible according to the last performance to Nürnberg 2-1. But nevertheless they have some real good options in hand with Simunek in defense, Weis and Eisfeld in midfield and Raffael and Mlapa in attack. So he can choose from a very good bench as well.

Before the game made 1860 Coach Fröhling clear that they come to Bochum as underdog, he sees Bochum clear as favorite but this do not mean that they get a result there. He wants to continue the good play and said additional that he expects his team can hurt Bochum. But against the leader all must go they way but this can be possible if the performance are right. In this case Fröhling has to changes his tactic from 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1. But compared to the last game should this not be a problem, miss striker Hain due to injury anyway. Mugosa who came from Kaiserslautern can be the second striker but if the lineup is like mentioned above he is on bench again.  

Eintracht Braunschweig - Karlsruher SC

Both teams are named by the experts as one of the favorite promotion candidates but both had a very difficult start and looking forward to close the gap to the top now. The past results are showing that they are doing better now, Braunschweig with the win in Bielefeld 2-0 which was their first but they want continue now. KSC on the other side has two wins in a row now and they are aiming for more and it looks like that the team has found them now after the relegation battle disaster to HSV.

After two home defeats Braunschweig is looking for the first Points today. They want the home win for them and their fans. Coach Lieberknecht said that with their excellent fans in back and a good performance they should be able to get the first 3 Points at home. Every player has to invest much more as he has done in the past and he expect from his team a step forward today. The gift for the fans is the home win, and this should be everyone clear.
After a better performance in Bielefeld it is not far away that Coach Lieberknecht does not change anything. He has no reason and also maybe no alternatives because with Ofosu Ayeh they miss still an Starter. For him plays youngster Sauer on the right wing again as he has made his job very well. On the other wing plays Reichel and give Boland the option to play in central midfield and give the team more power with his passes and power style of play. Some month ago KSC made a big step with the 2-0 win in Braunschweig in promotion race. That they win again is not sure and it needs a lot of investment as Coach Kauczinski said. Nevertheless he has to changes because central back Gordon got injured and must be replaced today. It is very open which player, if Mauersberger can play is not sure yet as he has some problems as well. Bayern München - Bayer Leverkusen

Nothing has changed to last Season, Bayern Munich plays absolutely dominant and control all the opponents. Although they had some missing players like Ribery in offensive they are able to replace this quality, no they have won more quality to the squad with Costa. He replaced Ribery so far and this was one of the winner anyway. With his excellent and fast play he was the key for Bayern Munich in the first two games. Maybe the quality is higher as last Season despite some missing so far. The only problem zone is maybe the defensive part, above all the central back where Benatia, Boateng and Dante are doing their job. The first two played so far, Dante was no main fact so far. But according to the injury problem from Benatia who is out for longer now and the suspension from Boateng they face some problems there. With Dante only one fit central back ready and he maybe leave Bayern according to his past situation. Coach Guardiola has to find some for central back against Leverkusen, with Martinez and Badstuber he has two players more not ready yet ……. It can be maybe a problem but the squad should be big enough to have some options. Overall Manager Sammer said that they do not make any transfers right now but of course, Dante can leave if he wants.
Coach Guardiola has to find two central defenders in his squad, maybe Alonso, Rafinha, Rode are prepared for this task. We will see what Guardiola fields.

The start was very good for Leverkusen, they won the Cup game very easy and also got the victories against Hoffenheim and Hannover. It was absolutely deserved to get the win after coming from behind against Hoffenheim but they controlled the game very well and Hoffenheim was only dangerous with some fast attacks where they took the lead. Leverkusen was the much better side and should have won much higher as only 2-1. The second match in Hannover was a bit average compared to the first one but Calhanoglu made the difference with his free kick which was the winning goal there. The team looks very balanced and they are able to play a good Season again. With Son they lost an important offensive player to Tottenham this week but signed with Kampl from Dortmund an alternative already.

The only disadvantage maybe was their important Champions League quali game under the week against Lazio Rom where they had to catch up the 0-1 from first game in Rom. The game was won with 3-0 and they advanced to CL Group Stage now but they have invested a lot and gave all their power for this aim CL. With the next match in Munich it can be that they have to pay for their play under the week and maybe their big effort.

The outcome of this encounter was always a clear thing for Bayern, Leverkusen did not get much in Munich in recent years. This time it can be the same as the match under the week costs to much energy for them and Bayern of course use this today.
