MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

After hard-fought back-to-back wins, Ingolstadt are still in with a fighting chance of landing the promotion playoff spot come the end of the season. Last Saturday, goals from Almog Cohen and Robert Leipertz gave the Schanzer a superb 2-1 win at lowly Heidenheim. The team now lie fifth in the table with six games left, five points adrift of third spot.

One win in five has left Bielefeld’s playoff hopes hanging by a thread. Jeff Saibene’s side have dropped down to sixth, trailing third-placed Holstein Kiel by six points. Arminia failed to register two wins in a row in front of their own crowd after winning 1-0 to second-placed Nurnberg as they only managed a 1-1 draw with rivals Holstein Kiel in a six-pointer last Sunday. Nevertheless, Bielefeld have recovered well from a poor start to the campaign and could yet break into the top 3.

This is a huge fixture for both, but it is a game that neither side can afford to lose. With both sides aiming for the win, it could be a very open game, but Ingolstadt are on a roll at present, so back them to get all three points at Audi Sportpark.

SECOND PREDICTION: ODD/EVEN – ODD

Each of Ingolstadt’s last two home wins against Bielefeld has come by a solitary goal. With that in mind, back odd goals to be notched at Audi-Sportpark.

HEAD TO HEAD
These teams have only met twice in Ingolstadt in the 2. Bundesliga, in two close games which were won by Ingolstadt 1-0 and 3-2. Back in October, the reverse fixture ended in a 3-1 away win for Ingolstadt too.
