Werder Bremen - Bayer Leverkusen

Statistic:

- Leverkusen did not concede a single goal in 2015 so far (same rival Cologne).
- But they are far away from good above all in offensive where they scored 4 goals in the last 6 !!!

- If they had started like this they are sure under the top 5 teams in BL this season.

- That Bremen started with two wins in the second half of the season happened last at 2006/07.
- Bremen celebrated 3 wins in a row now and this happened last at 2011.
- Leverkusen conceded their last 8 goals after penalties, corners and free kicks.
- Since Bremen won the Cup 1-0 to Leverkusen they won only 1 of the last 11 meetings. (1-6-4).
- But this win it was on the last home game against Leverkusen on last December 2013 1-0.
- From 34 matches in Bremen could Leverkusen win only 4 !!!

It seems Bremen has found the right man on the line like Rehagel and Schaaf was because Skripnik played under Schaaf and he knows the philosophy from Werder very well and he knows the business and how to do his job with this job as well. He has success and this is the key in this hard business Bundesliga. They are on a good run and open the gap to the red zone more and more, with a win today they can climb up to the top half what is a big step for them anyway. It is very interesting to see when a team has their self confidence back what they are able to bring on the pitch. They have much more trust in their actions and they run and give all for the team. Also the mistakes are much more less as in other situations. I do not know what Skripnik has done with this guys but they are really fresh and they like to play under him and follow him very well. It looks like that the same eleven starts as in the last two games while only top striker Di Santo had some problems under the week but I expect him to play today.

I can only say wow and what has Leverkusen played to begin of the season and who they press and attack their opponents but this is all gone and a lot of players look tired or out of form. The winter break has not brought much positive back in Leverkusen's play. They did hard and do again. Against Dortmund it was hard to play against a more defensive minded team, also against Hertha they need an individual mistake from Hertha's defensive otherwise they had not scored there. All the top offensive weapons Bellarabi, Son (is back from Asia Cup today), Calhanoglu, Drmic and Kießling searching for their form. They are not able to create a lot of dangerous opportunities and if they are not able to finish them. Coach Schmitt has a lot of work to do in my eyes and if he can not bring the team back or away from such play it is hard to have success. Ok, they can go out and hope for their stability of the defensive and maybe with luck they win 1-0. But what is to do if the opponent score against them in some matches, they have problems as they are not able to score more as 1 goal if we have seen in the past.

I go for Bremen once again, I like the play from them and they are so incredible at the moment. I can not see that they are not able to score above all with the youngsters who are very quick to overcome players like old Spahic. Selke, Bartels, Di Santo, Junuzovic are all in good shape and able to score. On the other side the defensive line from Bremen is much better now and they are doing not so many mistakes anymore what makes it much more difficult for Leverkusen's offensive. I do not see much difference here between both if we compare the last games and with this HC I have to go with the inform home team.
