MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW
Sandhausen’s unbeaten run
of three matches came to an end following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Aue last
Friday. Although they had 53% ball possession and 11 shots on target they were
unable to make it back-to-back victories after beating Union Berlin 1-0 during
the week beforehand. Despite this loss they have the best defensive line in the
league with only six goals conceded in eight matches and they are currently
sitting in fifth place with four wins, two draws and two defeats.
Regensburg came from behind
to beat Braunschweig in a contested match in front of their fans. Captain Marco
Gruttner and Jonas Nietfeld scored in second half to give Regensburg the lead
against only eight men from Braunschweig after three received suspension. It
was Regensburg’s first home win and it will give them additional motivation
going forward after starting the campaign with a disappointing run of three
defeats at home. On the road they look much better though, having registered
two wins and two defeats.
It was always very close
when these two teams meet each other and I expect it this time again. Draw.
SECOND PREDICTION: HALF TIME HAD – DRAW
Sandhausen’s two last home
games have seen a 0-0 draw at half time while Regensburg have witnessed the
same on the road. With neither of the teams scoring many goals in first half, I
expect a close match with a draw after 45 minutes again.
HEAD TO HEAD
These two teams have meet only
twice in 2.Bundesliga. Sandhausen won the latest meeting 3-1 away from home in
March 2013, but lost 2-1 at home in September 2012.
