Bayer Leverkusen - FC Augsburg

What went wrong in Leverkusen in the past two matches? They played really well against Dortmund and fired from all guns but lost in the end because of the mistakes they made in defensive. On the other side they waste too much with their opportunities and let Dortmund alive. Almost the same scenario was repeated one week later when they played a great game against Gladbach, although they got only a draw. They were the much better side, played really well and fast in their offensive actions while Gladbach had not weapon against them. Also some strange decisions from referee and a lot of bad luck let they not lead at half time. Moreover Gladbach scored the lead with the first corner some seconds before the half time whistle.  Many in the stadium could not believe it and rubbed their eyes in amazement that not lead Leverkusen but Gladbach. In second half both teams pushed a lot and it was more or less an open match, Leverkusen equalized but a few minutes later Gladbach took the lead again, in the following period scored Leverkusen twice and picked up for  the first-time leadership but Gladbach could equalize with a free kick in the end. Overall Leverkusen was not very pleased about the result as they were the much better side with much more ball possession and also the much better style of play. Nevertheless they are in good shape at the moment and maybe their bad luck is gone now they had two matches, maybe they play bad this time but win. It is more likely because only results that count.

The streak from FC Augsburg continues as they are unbeaten in 4 this year now. Of course they had some luck too but this is needed in relegation battle as well. They close the gab to 16. Place (1899 Hoffenheim) already and the hope is back as they face them next week and should have much more attention as the match against Leverkusen. Sure, they do not want to lose and they want to continue their streak as points are always welcome to leave the drop zone. It was very hard to see them playing against FSV Mainz 05. They started very well, tried some but was not so consistently in their actions in front of the goal. This Mainz was better after 15 minutes and put a few pinpricks. They showed that with some fast passing actions Augsburg’s defensive is very vulnerable. In the following period Mainz press a lot and after Augsburg back wing Pilp got injured huge Augsburg played with 10 men for some minutes and in this time Mainz took advantage of the confusion in the defense and score. While Augsburg was shocked Ivanschitz had the opportunity for the second goal but missed and after this FSV offense player Parker booked a red card. This card changed the match a lot, Augsburg pressed almost all the time in second half and played really well over the wing but could only score a single goal. According to their weak stats without a single goal at home since 5 hours not very amazing. All of them were not so pleased about the result, as they want the win but could not finish it.

I like the way Leverkusen is playing at the moment and they showed very good form as well, sooner or later they get rewarded for their effort. What make me very confident is that they have very fast wings with Schürrle, Castro and Sam and their fast passing style hurts Augsburg I am sure as they showed a lot of weakness if Mainz played with fast combinations. Additional must coach Weinzierl change his defensive row as with Pilp is their right back wing out now, Parkhurst replaced him, had some good offensive actions but nothing in defensive and I expect a weak point there. And If they can control best player Koo Augsburg’s play is restricted and help a lot to take advantage. I compare both teams but I see huge advantage for Leverkusen as their offensive is so good as they can score at any time and also not even one. On the other side Augsburg has huge problems to score, sure they scored 3 in Düsseldorf but with huge help from Defender and Keeper while in other matches they are very limited and only good for one so far. Therefore I expect Leverkusen win !!!

VfR Aalen - Hertha BSC Berlin

Normally if you compare the player names from these two teams it should be a clear thing for Hertha. But overall Aalen are not as easy to play and they are very hard to crack as they are huge focused on defensive and go for fast counter attacks. Also they have the lowest ball possession in 2.BL, they do not count on them, the only thing what count is the end result and they showed that they are able to play on such a level. Hertha should take this one serious as Aalen gave some object lesson already last weekend. Braunschweig knows it already.

Aalen played very well in Braunschweig and got deserved a draw and if they did not waste to much they have won it for sure. It is always the same as they are not known as such scoring team but on the other side they become promotion candidate if they win this today. But coach Hasenhüttl does not want to talk about as his focus is to get 40 points as soon as possible for their remaining in 2.BL. Not many changes are expected today as the team did well last week. Of course, Hasenhüttl is known for some spectacular changes and maybe he surprises some today again. Junglas and Leandro should be set on Sixer position as they were praised from Coach. Other positions, we will see :)

Thanks god, thanks god, thanks god for midfielder Ronny who made an excellent game in derby against Union and saved Hertha once again. He shot the corner to the 1-2 through Ramos and what a direct free kick from him to equalize this match. He is in great form at the moment and this guy make the difference at the moment for Hertha. Since 2nd Round, Hertha did not lose a single game ... hopefully they can continue their run. Not available for them is Kluge, because of his 5th yellow card. But some alternatives are there with Kobiashvili, Knoll, Mukhtar or Morales. Next change should be left back wing Bastians had a weak performance in Derby, therefore suspended Holland is back today and should get the place. Also Ben Hatira is an option for Luhukay as he was out longer but back now. For him Allagui move out of the team and sit on bench then.

Jahn Regensburg - Eintracht Braunschweig

If we take a look on the table everything is clear in this match, normally. Regensburg on last position while Braunschweig is leader of 2.Bundesliga and the difference are 32 points between both sides so far. But maybe some surprise is possible as Regensburg got some self confidence and motivation back with the win against Bochum and additional they showed some good matches already in their Stadium. Their opponent for today played well against Aalen last weekend but got only a draw.

Wow, after a long run without a win they managed an important win against Bochum. Hero of the match was Marco Djuricin with two goals. Therefore, he makes now corrected hope for a starting place because he was substituted in Bochum only. But it would be not as easy because with top scorer Sembolo returns the normal striker from suspension. And if coach Smuda does not change the practiced system 4-1-4-1 with Nachreiner on the six and Hein, de Guzman as offensive midfielder only one of them can be in starting lineup. Moreover Smuda mentioned that only one of them plays. Some changes are expected as with Machado and Smarzoch they have some wobble candidates. For Smarzoch plays Altinay who is back from illness. Machado is still open ……

It was not the best situation for Braunschweig as their best and successful players Kruppke and Kumbela in the past were out. Kruppe is still not available but the other top man returns from suspension and is set upfront. Also some changes expected in midfield because Chinese Zhang made not such a good game on the six and can be replaced by Pfitzner. Upfront looks Ademi also not in such good shape as he can start, so this can be the changes. Some good news for the leader is the returning of long injured midfielder Kratz who can be in squad today.

Probably lineup:
SSV Jahn Regensburg: Ochs – Altinay, Laurito, Kamavuaka, C. Rahn – Nachreiner – Carlinhos, de Guzman, Hein, Haag – Djuricin
Eintracht Braunschweig: Davari – Bohl, Bicakcic, Dogan, Reichel – Theuerkauf, Pfitzner – Elabdellaoui, Boland, Petersch – Kumbela

Hertha BSC Berlin - Union Berlin

Big City Derby in Berlin when Hertha BSC hosts Union for an important match as both are in promotion fight. If Hertha win this one they overcome leader Braunschweig while Union needs the win too to get closer to Kaiserslautern. Home side can make the gap bigger to third place while Union can close it a bit and are only 4 points behind Kaiserslautern.

It was more or less hard work for Hertha against Regensburg last weekend. Of course they won 5-1 there but I think some goals to high as they were not on their best level. First half was awful, second was better but thanks to Ronny who was again the difference. Against Union Coach Luhukay plans some changes because left back wing Holland is not available due to suspension, he will replaced by Bastians, also Pekarik is ready and an option as right back wing and gives Ndjeng the option to move on his normal position while Allagui must on bench because his performance was not well against Regensburg on this position as wing. Also Ben Hatira returns after his long injury time and can play for Sahar on the wing as the Israeli was even not in his best form. Sure in the starting lineup should be Kluge and Niemeyer although they are slightly injured but the experienced double six is ready. Two players (Franz and Lasogga) were suspended by the coach for the game against Union because of trainings fight.

Good match, good start for Union but they want to continue like this way and therefore they must win this one as well. They played very good against Sandhausen and won deserved 3-1. In this match they showed already that they are able for higher ambitions. But one of the best playing man Parensen is out with illness today. He was one of the most active players against Sandhausen and help the team a lot. This is a big blow now but with Stuff returns one player who was out last weekend and can be in starting lineup immediately while Schönheim moves towards and plays on Parensen’s position in midfield. Another option should be Quiring who can replace Jopek who had not his best day last time. Striker Özbeck who scored in last match is only on bench again but if he comes in, he is ready.

Probably lineup:
Hertha BSC: Kraft – Pekarik, Lustenberger, Brooks, Bastians – Niemeyer, Kluge – Ndjeng, Ronny, Sahar (Ben Hatira) – Ramos

1. FC Union Berlin: Haas – Pfertzel, Stuff, Puncec, Kohlmann – Menz – Quiring, Mattuschka, Schönheim – Nemec, Terodde

FC Augsburg - FSV Mainz 05

Wow, what a start from Augsburg 2013. The hope is back and they play very good so far. With some changes in the winter break they have laid the foundation. New Manager Reuter was very positive and was further to the team and coaches, maybe he has found the right words and the right course. Also they let coach Weinzierl work in silence and he knows this and also his team has much more self confidence now. They started with a luck win at Düsseldorf but this was maybe the right sign for them and gave them a lot of motivation back and boost them additional. They showed this against Schalke at home one week later where they were the much better side and should have won this but wasted to much or were a bit unlucky also their defensive allowed only one big opportunity for Schalke. At Wolfsburg they had maybe some problems to beginning of the match but the longer the game went on the more they controlled it. Of course they were 0-1 down but they did not think long about it and played easily. Also what is very important they stands well in defensive and do not make so many mistakes now what helps a lot. Also Weinzierl has found the right eleven and they worked very well in the past matches and got rewarded very well. With keeper Jentzsch, DEF Reinhardt, MID Ottl, DEF Verhaegh, STR Bance and MID Petrzela they have some missings but it looks like that they compensate all.

The opponent of Augsburg are on a good way this season, they have the chance to get involved in Euro League next season if they continue like the past. With a win they can reach 5th place and this means that they are in a very good position. They got 4 points out of the 3 matches 2013 but the win was against Fürth who are winless at home so far. The other matches were at home with 0-0 against Freiburg and 0-3 against Bayern Munich where they played well but had no chance in second half. Coach Tuchel did a good job so far and he has to integrate some new players as with Polanski left to Hoffenheim they signed a replacement for him with Zimling. Of course their play is not infected much with this change but all in all they count to much on their top striker Szalai. He was out against Bayern and they could not score also against Freiburg he was controlled very well from the defensive and had no change then. He is back today but on the other side they miss one of the best and important wing with N. Müller. He was the advantage in some of their matches already as he is very quick and can score too. Therefore Tuchel has to change again and should find the right players for his system but he is known as tactic fox anyway.

Home team believes in itself again and they showed a much different face as in the first half of the season. They are back on track and their play is much better, the defensive stands well and all work together now. If they play like in their 3 matches 2013 I am very sure, they get the points as FSV Mainz not an away monster that they can overcome Augsburg very easy. I am very confident as the stats speaks also pro Augsburg, after Wolfsburg, Mainz is their favorite opponent. The opening line was very good but gone fast but I think that the DNB line is acceptable too. GL

VfL Bochum - Jahn Regensburg

It can be a very good weekend for VfL Bochum because all went in their way as Dresden lost at Kaiserslautern and with a win today they can let the gap get bigger. Now 4 points with a win 7 points which would give them more rest for their work. Although they should have one eye on Sandhausen as well, because if they win they overcome Dresden. Nevertheless it would be even 6 points lead to the drop zone but they have to win first as with Regensburg they get a very hard nut today. The bottom team is almost in a must win situation if they want to hold the aim of remaining in 2.BL alive they must start getting points.

They started good into 2013 with a draw at Aalen, but they were not very happy about it as they were two times up and conceded every time the equalizer. But things are against them at the moment as with Ortega and Dedic they miss additional players to the other injured guys like Aydin and Tasaka. These means that their offensive is very thinned. The coach is not to be envied, because he has very few options his offensive so far. It speaks all for Scheidhauer and Iashvili upfront while the rest of the lineup will be the same as against Aalen. But they have also one questionmark behind Freier, who has some problems. Otherwise they have to change a bit their system. But should they? Kramer and Goretzka played well but if Freier can not play maybe old guy Dabrowski plays for Goretzka on the double six while Goretzka can move on Freier's position. All possible. Also they miss suspended Eyjolfsson.

It looks like the new coach Smuda still could not fix the problems because if they concede the first goal they break down totally. And it was not a surprise that they lost 1-5 against Hertha in the end. They played well first half but collapse totally in second half. Also none of the new signings could help so far to stop this trend. Overall not many changes expected because they have to look forward and it counts every match now if they want to remain in the league. Only important striker Sembolo is out after booked his 5th yellow card last weekend. For him maybe Djuricin is set upfront while Wießmeier move in the starting lineup and plays in midfield. The other missings from Jahn are Kotzke, Kurz and Ziereis.

Bor. M'Gladbach - Bayer Leverkusen

Herrmann loves to play against Leverkusen !!!
The start into the second half of the season was good for Gladbach with a draw and a win in their first two matches, only against Nürnberg they lost but coach Favre was very angry about it as some decisions of the referee was very doubtful above all Nürnberg’s penalty. It was more a dive from midfielder Frantz as a foul from Marx and therefore the match has been steered in the direction of Nürnberg after two minutes only. In the following time Nürnberg played compact and go for counter attacks in their own stadium and scored the second goal with a fast break. Although Gladbach had much more ball possession (almost 75% in some sequences) and played much better and should have deserved much more but could only score one goal. If the referee had not given the penalty in the first minutes it would certainly have been possible more because Gladbach showed better game play and system. After 9 matches without a defeat they lose now, but all said that this is not the beginning of a further downturn like the start of the season. They are much more balanced and strong now as they struggle again. They close the gap to the Top 6 and therefore they are one of the contender for the international business again. Overall they have a very good style of play and they are also very hard to beat anyway. They have a lot of weapons in their rows who can decide matches and their dangerousness is huge with many options like counters, corners, free kicks, wide shots and so on. Favre miss with Jantschke suspended after his 5th yellow card one starter but he should be replaced by Brouwers while Stranzl give his comeback in starting lineup.

Wow, what a match between Leverkusen and Dortmund which were decided by some mistakes from Leverkusen’s players or maybe their sleepy actions. After ten minutes the match was almost decided after Dortmund leading 2-0 with two fast goals. But what a comeback from Leverkusen in second half, maybe they woke up at half time and some changes above all Sidney Sam gave them many more opportunities in their play. Big press from Leverkusen then and they were able to equalize but one minute later a big mistake from defender Wollscheid decided this encounter. This was their first lose at home this season. But overall they are some points ahead of the other Teams and should be able to hold 3rd position at least. It was also not such a problem because almost all teams behind lost points too. Sure they want get back on track but it would be a hard task as we saw against Freiburg two weeks ago, if their fast wings get not a lot of space and the opponent plays more compact it would be difficult for them to take advantage. Therefore it would be very interesting to watch how they react against Gladbach who like this style of play. Not available DEF Toprak after his 5th yellow card.

Both teams lost their games last weekend, so it will be very interesting to see who can be rehabilitated more quickly, as both showed very good performance. Of course, Leverkusen should certainly have advantages due to the individual players, but Gladbach play more as a team and it is extremely compact and are difficult to beat at the Borussia Park. Additionally Leverkusen could celebrate only 4 wins away so far, and also the balance against Gladbach is very draw-heavy. In over 20 games they have won only 5 there, from this point of view, I prefer the quarter ball handicap on Gladbach which puts us in a good position.

VfB Stuttgart - Werder Bremen

With a very good postion ended the first half of the season for Stuttgart. They were all very happy and pleased with a good season so far with the hope of continuation 2013. They were very focused in training camp, whether player, coach or manager were all there with heart. Although some rumors around above all because of coach Labbadia who has not signed his new contract but did it last week now. No one expected that they started like this as they are on a losing streak from 4 matches, only 86/87 they had a longer streak with 7 matches. In the first matches they looked not much good and produced a lot of errors and let their opponents score very easy. They have to find back to their style in first half of the season but it would be not as easy as coach Labbadia changes a lot too. Last match against Düsseldorf he changed almost the whole offensive line and therefore they worked very awful and can not put much pressure on Fortuna’s defensive, only as Traore came in, their play was much better then. In defensive they are unstable and weak, many mistakes made by experienced players, who should normally lead the others. No important missing, Harnik is back from suspension and should be in starting lineup again.

North team from Bremen started also with 2 loses in a row but played a very good and motivated match against Hannover 96. They invested a lot and if they had not won this one, maybe they never win a match this season. They pushed a lot and gave Hannover’s defensive a lot to do, but on the other side they wasted to much, if they used their chances well they should have won 5/6-0. Hannover’s coach Slomka has a lot of missings and according to their bad results in the past away from home they tried to gave them more stability with a more or less defensive tactic. In this case the offensive do not exist and their dangerous fast counter attacks not available. For this reason, sooner or later Bremen must took the lead, and as they did, the match was gone for Hannover. Schaaf has Bargfrede, Füllkrug und Wolf not available but they are not such important.

I like the goals in this match as both are not such good in defensive at the moment but both are always able to score as they did in the past matches when these two teams plays against each other. Additional the style of Bremen’s play is very open and offensive who gives Stuttgart more space and opportunities as against Düsseldorf. At least 3 goals are more as possible here.

Recommend Bet: OVER 3 @ 2,08 (3 Units)

Bayern München - FC Schalke 04

What to say, normally this should be a big match but if we compare these two teams it is more or less decided. Bayern Munich is rolling and they win match after match and in all these matches maybe they need some time to get on track but they are never in danger in the past. Their defensive conceding almost zero and upfront their class is there that they are always able to score one, two, three or more. It is very scary if you take a look what coach Heynckes has on bench but he does not need anyone of them at the moment because the starting lineup is well balanced and play such a good style that it is hard for everyone to come in. Some players like Gomez and Robben are a bit angry but they have to accept the situation at the moment as no one of the starting eleven show some weakness.

I wrote it already some time ago that I do not like coach Keller as he was in Stuttgart and he made a bad job there and was fired after some month and the same happens in Schalke for sure. I do not see a clear uptrend from the team so far. No, it is more or less a downtrend as the defensive is very weak and also the offensive who played really good under Stevens did not improve much. Their style of play is weak and the result showed this already. They are normally one of the champions league candidates for next season but with this form and this style of play, never. They have to fight huge that they get an international starter place for next season as many teams behind take a lot of pressure on them and with a lose today they are for sure out of the top 6. Therefore the pressure is getting bigger and bigger where manager Heldt has to make a decision and this means he has to suck coach Keller. They signed a few new players like Raffael or Bastos but let in good form playing Holtby left to Tottenham. It makes no sense for me as they hurt themselves. Raffael played not much at Kiew and can not help immediately, Bastos showed some against Fürth but against better teams, can he? The other boring things are as follows. Fuchs received his 5th yellow card and is out, for him should play youngster Kolasinac but can he stopp Ribery or Müller, no way. Important DEF Papadopolous is out since weeks and without him the defensive is very weak as Matip are a huge risk if he plays. Affeley, Moritz and Marica are also out and weakening the offensive a lot. Their best scorer Huntelaar is out with an eye injury but he was totally out of form anyway.

Overall a clear thing for Bayern Munich at the moment. It speaks all for them. If anyone can tell me what speaks for Schalke, please let me know. I think we can get a lot of in play options as Schalke try for sure to defend and build a big wall, but soon or later they will fall.

Energie Cottbus - 1.FC Köln

Both teams have still hopes for 3rd place but for this they should start a winning streak and they should not drop points anymore. Cottbus was not very pleased last weekend as they got only a 0-0 draw at ST. Pauli and the referee did not give a clear penalty for them. With a win they would have been much closer to Kaiserslautern. Cologne on the other side got a win with a late late goal from midfielder Clemens. This put his team in a good positon but overall both must win today if they want to hold their aims alive. Very interesting match anyway.

Coach Bommer was very pleased with the performance of his team and therefore not many changes are expected. In this case Schulze gets a new chance as back wing who came on loan from VfL Wolfsburg because with Engel is the normally starter injured. Also in midfield starts Fomitschow again because Adlung is still suspended and for sure a blow for Energie as he was always one of the active players in their game. In offensive Stiepermann and Sanogo are set to start today and again only on bench new signed Mosquera who comes as joker as he did against Pauli already.

Cologne won lucky against Aue with a wide shot from Clemens but they had many problems in their play and also in some positions. Also their offense play was not the best whereas coach Stanislawski has to make some changes. Maybe possible that he changes also the tactic / system and move back to the successfully one where they did much better as against Aue. This means only one man on central midfield and two offensives wings. Upfront no changes expected as with Royer, Bröker and Ujah they have not much in back. Overall some other options are there too but they are more or less a bit risky as he counts on. Maybe one alternative should be midfielder Bigalke who is back from illness and can start maybe if he get the confidence from coach.

Erzgebirge Aue - FSV Frankfurt

Both teams started with a lose into the new year but both want to try to get back on track today. Above all Aue wants revenge for the unlucky 0-1 in first match where they conceded a very late goal. Coach Baumann mentioned in an interview some words about relegation fight. “In relegation battle you have to win the home matches” With this words he wants to give this match huge importance and his players are determined enough to win. It would be very helpful for them to look back at the matches from last year as with Cottbus 3-0 or against Bochum 6-1 where both matches were played under very hard conditions, therefore they know the situation already and maybe can be called as experts. Despite everything Baumann warned that this will not happen automatically, as FSV has a very strong team. On the other side FSV coach Möhlmann knows exactly what count for his team today. We must play very aggressive, fight and give all to get something as the pitch would be not the best but this is almost suitable for this game.

Home side have some missings as Nickenig is suspended while back wing Schlitte returns and should be in starting lineup immediately. Also some changes are expected against first match, where they were very offensive minded but he wants to change a bit now and play from a good organized defensive. The offensive style was only because they were 0-1 down against Cologne and maybe if they are again, he knows that he can change and have some weapons on bench. Nevertheless he plays with two strikers today. If Kastrati or König beside Sylvestr upfront is not decided yet. Both have strengths. Kastrati showed it in some situations against Cologne while König scored twice against FSV last season.

FSV comes with the same squad to Aue who was already named against Ingolstadt last weekend. With Leckie and Roshi were two players away and played for their national teams and therefore they arrived late. Maybe Möhlmann gives these guys a small rest and count on other players as with the long trip the players maybe are a bit tired. Replacements are Görlitz and Gaus on the wing. Small questionmark is behind striker Verhoek who got injured in training, for him is Jönsson ready.

Of course, normally this would be a very close match, with big fight from both. And as always if Aue plays less goals are expected as well but I see this a bit different as under this conditions some mistakes are possible and open it for goals. I expect that both score and hopefully an early goal, this would open the match wide.

Probably lineup:
Erzgebirge Aue: Männel – Schlitte, Paulus, Pezzoni, Klingbeil – Fa. Müller, Höfler, M. Fink, Hochscheidt – Sylvestr, Kastrati (König)
FSV Frankfurt: Klandt – Huber, Schlicke, Heubach, Teixeira – Konrad, Bambara – M. Görlitz, Leckie – Yelen – Verhoek (Jönsson)

1.FC Kaiserslautern - Dynamo Dresden

Just before the winter break Kaiserslautern lost a lot on the two teams ahead of them Braunschweig and Hertha who are in the fight for a direct promotion place already almost hurry away. It was very important that they won in Munich on Monday because of many teams behind them got also points and are on the way to close the gap. Of course they are 5 points ahead right now but they have not much left. If they want to save third place they have to win even. The pressure is high now and in front of their fans they have to continue their way. Dynamo Dresden started with 0-0 at home against relegation rival MSV Duisburg. This was not enough for them to get out of danger zone as they have still 4 points to VfL Bochum. More or less they should not lose here as it would be difficult to close the gap anyway.

I mentioned it already in an post on Monday that Kaiserslautern signed a lot and almost all were in starting lineup against 1860 Munich. But not all were as good as they should and therefore many guys have room for improvement. If they can do this today is not decided as coach Foda maybe change some as with Baumjohann an important midfielder returns from illness. In this case he should be set as playmaker while Köhler has to change on the left or right wing. One of the first candidate for bench should be youngster Weiser who played not on his best level on Monday. Because of some many options are available for coach Foda maybe more changes are possible. Also Azaouagh is an candidate to move on bench, wherefore Bunjaku move back as offensive wing and his place beside Idrissou can gets Hoffer. The defensive should remain unchanged.

New Dynamo coach Peter Pacult was very pleased with the first match and the draw as he does not want to change much. Although he has to make some as with sixer Losilla is an important man out with his 5th yellow card. For him oldie Fiel hopes to get a chance and move in now. In offensive maybe gets youngster Müller a chance again although he was very weak against MSV Duisburg. This is probably not to be expected due to lack of alternative, because new striker Khlebosolov who should play beside Pote is not ready and was not even in the squad against MSV.

Probably lineup:
1. FC Kaiserslautern: Sippel – Dick, Torrejon, Heintz, Löwe – Karl – Köhler, Baumjohann, Bunjaku – Hoffer, Idrissou
Dynamo Dresden: Kirsten – Gueye, Bregerie, Savic, Schuppan – Ouali, Fiel, Streker, Kempe – Müller, Poté

1860 München - 1.FC Kaiserslautern

It seems more and more that the first two places are already safe for Braunschweig and Hertha BSC while for third place we can expect a big fight from many teams till the end of the season and it would be maybe decided on the last round. Kaiserslautern stands on 3rd position now, two points ahead of the others but the pressure is getting bigger as their rivals won or got at least a point and close the gap already on the weekend. If 1860 would be in tough with Kaiserslautern they must win this one and with 30 points they are back in promotion race, a point maybe helps too but if they lose they resigned even.

The internal dispute does not seem to be completely endured between 1860 und their Investor Ismaik. Much trouble in the past about but they want to continue their cooperation. It helps not much above all the players  can not take the focus on the upcoming matches if always some rumors around. As I mentioned already, if they want to hold the aim alive they should not lose this Monday evening match. However they are without their best striker/scorer Lauth who is still suspended and according to his stats he is very important this season. To compensate the lose of Lauth they signed one more striker with Rob Friend from Eintracht Frankfurt who came on loan. But after some problems with his health he is only on bench anyway. Better chances for starting lineup has Ola Kamara who trained very well or Bobby Wood. Another new face Fathi should be in starting lineup as he did a good job in training and therefore coach Schmidt count on him. The other option is Nicu but he has his strength more in offensive as on defensive. Overall no surprises expected in lineup from 1860 Munich, only that coach Schmidt does not count on Makos and Aygün anymore. Maybe they can leave the club.

Wow, huge work done by manager Kuntz as he signed six new players in the winter break as they want to strength the team a lot and take advantage to get promoted again. It would be very interesting to see how coach Foda integrates his six new players and who stands in starting lineup already. Good chances are there for back wing Löwe who came from Borussia Dortmund, also midfielder Karl from Union Berlin and Benjamin Köhler from Eintracht Frankfurt while Drazan, Hoffer and Weiser are expected on bench first. The use of Azaouagh and Baumjohann is very doubtful because they were weakened with flu during the week. Of course some options less for coach Foda but he has a lot to choose now as they gave him the needed players. Pretty sure is for some experts that he wants to change the tactic and play with two strikers upfront, for these Idrissou and Bunjaku are set.

Jahn Regensburg - Hertha BSC Berlin

Huge difference in table and also squad wise between both. Regensburg wants to avoid relegation, what would be a very hard task as they are far away from safe zone but their relegation opponents failed almost all this weekend and therefore they are in a good position again, but only if they win this one. Hertha BSC Berlin has only one aim and this is to get promoted and they give all to get it done as only this count in Berlin and for their fans.

Many changes has been made by Jahn Regensburg through the winter break. First they signed a new coach and he is known in the world as he was former national coach from Poland Frantisek Smuda. He should get the team back into the right position and maybe give them more stability. In some friendly matches they played well and were much more organized as in their last league matches. He worked a lot on their position play and also on their condition. Second step was to sign some new players who can help immediately and strength the team a lot. For this they signed keeper Timo Ochs from 1860 Munich who should be in goal today, young wing Carlinhos from Bayer Leverkusen U23 should also be in starting lineup because of their problems on this position with injuries. Next guys are midfielder Julian de Guzman and striker Koke, if these both are in starting lineup is not sure yet as they are signed very late and they had not much time to train with the team as they arrived late. Overall Jahn Regensburg did everything what was in their power. Now, the team have to deliver if they want to stay in this league next year.

Giant Hertha BSC has a large lead to third place and according to this they can play much more relaxed as they can do under pressure. But on the other side it is very dangerous because if coach Luhukay can not hold the pressure high on his team some of the players give not always 100% and this is very important in this league. Sure they are huge favorite in this one but it would be not such easy as expected. They came to Regensburg where they play in an old stadium, also the cabines are very small and also some other things are very very different as they know from Olympiastadium or from 1.BL matches. Overall Luhukay gets more and more options back as many players are back from injury but it is not expected that he changes much as more he counts on the team who was very successfully at the end of 2012. One important missing they have with Peter Niemeyer. His replacement can be Kobiashvili who is back after a half year ban but he is the more defensive variante while Muhktar stands for more offensive play. Also the fight for the one position on the wing is not decided as with Bastians and Holland are fighting two players there for starting lineup. Upfront Ramos is set to play but can not allow to be weak as with Wagner and Lasogga who is back after his huge knee injury he has some players in his neck.

Normally this is a clear thing for Berlin but after the winter break it is always difficult to get rolling and also against a team with many changes. Also they are on a long streak without losing, sooner or later they are due. I think this would be closer as many of you expect. GL

Hamburger SV - Eintracht Frankfurt

Hamburg’s start was average although they collected 4 points out of the two matches but overall their style of play was slow and very unstable as well. Sure they were the better side against Nürnberg and if luck was on their side they would have won as they hit the post twice and also missed some others. The derby against Bremen they played almost the same style but this time they had the luck on their side. Although they are 0-1 down they won 3-2 in the end but also with some help from the Referee. As he did not see a clear hand from Aogo at his goal to the lead and also some funny decision all in favor from Hamburg let them win this match. Overall they were very pleased about the derby win after 8 matches without a derby-win and also they are much closer on top 6 places now. Additional they got some self confidence and motivation for the upcoming matches as they have a very important match against Frankfurt now. If they can continue their streak they are in good position for an international places. Not much on their injury list, only DEF Mancienne and Sala.

One of the bigger surprises of the first half was newcomer Eintracht Frankfurt. They played such a strong first half and stands deserved under the top 6 now. It is clear that they want to continue like this and defend their  position but maybe they were underrated from almost all teams and this is always as newcomer but I expect that they are be taken much more seriously in second half of the season. It would be much more difficult for them now as they are known much better for their play/tactic/system. Overall they look not such good anyway in the last 2 matches above all against Leverkusen they started very well but their fans destroyed the superiority with a break after igniting of fireworks. This break helps Leverkusen a lot and they overcome Frankfurt in the following minutes very easy and won in the end 3-1. Second match against Hoffenheim it was good to beginning but the longer the game went on the better was Hoffenheim and Frankfurt had luck that Hoffenheim could not use their opportunities to take the lead therefore Frankfurt scored the winning goal after a corner where keeper Wiese and one defender of Hoffenheim made big mistakes. Same here, only Amedick not available.

Close match and almost a big fight for the places for Top 6. Newcomer Frankfurt has some advantage but HSV is close to them and if they win this one they are in touch with Frankfurt.

1899 Hoffenheim - SC Freiburg

After a horrible first half Hoffenheim is in huge danger now. They want to change a lot and therefore they signed Manager Müller, new coach Kurz and also some new players but as always success is not purchasable. Some misunderstanding in and around the team above all with defender Compper who left to AC Florenz last week. Many areas under construction and manager and coach has a lot to do and manage to get 1899 back on track. They started balanced and organized into 2013 and got a 0-0 draw against Gladbach at home but created not much but it seems that Kurz has made a good job and the defensive worked much much better as before the break. One week later against Frankfurt they played also well but with some mistakes in defensive again and according to this they lost 1-2. Maybe they were the better side and invest a lot but in the end, the only thing what count in the result. With this lose they fall down to place 17. and this means direct relegation. They have to improve more and maybe got some offensive power back because of the huge focus on defensive their offensive suffers. Above all Derdioyk are far away from his best form, and the others are not much better, therefore they signed deCamargo from Bor. M’Gladbach on loan this week. He should help to get some dangerousness back in their play. But overall it is very hard to see that they are stable enough because they got a lof of new players and coach Kurz has a lot to do. The new players need time but they do not have much, in this case it is hard to see without any mistakes today.

What a excellent season from SC Freiburg so far. They are close to top 6 and if they continue like in the past they are for sure one of the candidates for an international place next season. Sure, no one of Freiburg’s Club want to hear or speak about this due to bad memories in the past. But if they reach it, it would be second time in their club history and perhaps thank to one man who makes this almost possible, coach Streich who leads his team very well and everyone follow him. His work is great so far and if you can take a look at some stats it is very hard to beat this team from Freiburg as they fight in every match till the end and give a lot. Additional they have one of the best defensive in 1.BL and conceded less – with only 18 goals against them they have only an average from 0,95 / each game. For a small club like Freiburg a huge value and almost the only key for their success.  The system developed by coach Streich of good positional play and compactness of the whole team is unparalleled in 1.BL and they big plus against other teams at the moment. The positive attitude of the trainer, who exemplifies all that even brings additional energy. Freiburg's only goal to avoid relegation  is almost done, and thus they can occur almost no pressure and have fun in their matches. Of course, this bring some danger but the coach certainly controls against and all should go their way as expected.

Overall I think it is very hard to play against such an organized team like Freiburg who knows their strength and give almost all in every match. It is a big hurdle for Hoffenheim right now and with their problems who can not be solved all a hard task. I see Freiburg much ahead of Hoffenheim at the moment and in this case I have to go with them.

Fortuna Düsseldorf - VfB Stuttgart

What to mention about Fortuna Düsseldorf, sure they played a good first half but started with 2 loses in a row into second half. Both defeats were a bit unlucky above all the first match against direct opponent against relegation FC Augsburg where two huge mistakes from defender and keeper allowed Augsburg two easy goals and therefore to win this match. Next one was the derby in Gladbach and it was more or less the same as with an own goal and a fast second goal against them they decided the match again more self as their opponent. They played a good second half and showed that they are able to play on a high level who allow them to win matches as well. Of course as they tried to push and go for the equalizer it was a lot of space for Gladbach but they missed a lot of good opportunities or keeper Giefer saved big. After two matches without any luck, it would be interesting to see them again in front of their excellent fans and the atmosphere should be great again there. They got some new players but only central back Latka stands in starting lineup. The others have to improve and push and hold the pressure high to get a chance. Not much changes expected but hopefully they can get back to their last performances like in the end of 2012 where they played some great matches above all Reisinger made the different. Sure they are still 8 points ahead of the drop zone and maybe this can still hold the pressure a bit away but sooner or later they should collect some points as 35+ are needed in the end although the last three are very weak this season and it is a huge advantage for Fortuna. With Langeneke, Bruno Soares, Voronin, Cha, Nando Rafael and Garbuschwski are some not available but these guys are out longer now and should not be such imp. at the moment.

Maybe they talked a bit to much about the good position they have at winter break and maybe the trouble about coach Labbadia who does not sign a new contract so far. His future is still undecided but they hope to come out with better news in some days. Nevertheless they lost the good position after 2 loses in a row and fall down. Maybe because of some problems where important players were suspended or maybe out with injury. This would be not much better as with Harnik they have again one important man not available after his yellow/red card against Bayern Munich. Also they lost a lot of their good play from first half as the performances where not very good 2013 so far. Additional some of their players are not concentrated enough and made some big mistakes and allowed even goals against them. If you have not the best day or give a little bit less on some day it is very hard to get anything on such a high level as 1.BL. If coach Labbadia does not find the right words, tactic it would be hard to turn things around above all if they continue like past seasons. Stuttgart is well known for this … if they played a good first half, they failed almost in second and also be reversed. According to news they miss some players as with Kuzmanovic sold to Inter Mailand while Harnik is suspended, Boka at African Cup, and also Cacau long term injured, Bah, Hemlein and Audel are not so important anayway. Fresh injured is defender Niedermeier who had some problems after trainings session.

Both teams started 2013 with two loses and both made a lot of mistakes therefore it would be very interesting which team can reduce it or take advantage. Overall I expect a fast matches where both teams try to win but with some advantage for home side with their fans in back. And as they are not so stable in defensive both, goals are come for sure too.

Stuttgarter Kickers - VfB Stuttgart

Stuttgarter Kickers were newcomer this season and they played good at beginning but failed then. After their huge downtrend they fired coach Schuster but they are not much better right now. Maybe the long first half costed a lot of energy and power for the players. They signed some new ones and also a new coach. Former Sandhausen coach Dais is on the line now and he knows this league very well as he promoted with Sandhausen last season. Sure he made some changes and maybe they get back on track as they got a draw against Hallescher FC but Dais was not so pleased about the performance above all both wingers are very bad and he changed both against SV Wehen Wiesbaden. This match was under the week and they won 2-0 there but it was more huge defending from them as they had only 2 attempts on goal but won. Maybe Wehen did Kickers some gifts as they must open a lot and therefore a lot of space for them. It would be much harder today when they face one of the best away teams with VfB Stuttgart II but it is not an away match overall because both teams play in the same stadium. With this derby ahead maybe some more supporters are there and push both sides.

Second team from Stuttgart started not already as their matches were postponed. This is their first match under league conditions. Sure, they have some missings today but I do not think that they are so huge that they are not able to get something here above all Stuttgarter Kickers has failed a lot at home and if they must come and play more offensive it would be interesting if Stuttgart Amas can not overcome them as they did in almost all away matches this season. They are very hard to beat on the road with their style of play and I expect this again today.

A huge plus should be that Kickers played already under the week on a pitch who was very deep and hard to play. The weather is very bad with huge wind and rain in Germany and again pitch are wet and deep. I go with the fresher and rested side here.

Werder Bremen - Hannover 96

Goals are expected in this one, as both have problems !!!
Small north derby where both teams need the points if they want to hold the aims alive and get an international starting place in the end. Both teams more in an downtrend as on an up and both are very weak in defensive and also with huge problems in the past.

In front of their fans, Werder Bremen has something to give back after they got trashed against Borussia Dortmund two weeks ago. They played their offensive style as always but this was almost to much against a team who are very efficient with such excellent players. With this huge package they travel to their north rival Hamburg and lost there too but they were the much better side with much more corners and also created more opportunities as Hamburg. Additional the referee was also against them and did not see a clear hand before the second goal from Hamburg who decided this encounter. Some decisions from Referee was very disappointing and doubtful as well …. In this case it were the goal to the lead 2-1 from HSV and additional the bookings for Bremen who lost Fritz and Arnautovic with yellow/red card. Both are suspended for this match now and makes it not easier for coach Schaaf. Although they missed Hunt, also Junuzovic could not play the whole 90 minutes after flu but Werder did a good job. It was much better as against Dortmund and I expect the next step and some reaction after two loses in a row. According to the news, Hunt should be back and help to get the win as it is almost their last chance if they do not want to end up in midfield. Not availalbe are the mentioned suspended players Fritz, Arnautovic and injured Bagfrede.

After coach Slomka signed his new contract at Hannover it looks more and more that the team is very weak in defensive although they signed some but they did not help much so far. Djourou who is on loan from Arsenal was very unconfident against Schalke with a lot of mistakes and unneeded tackles and some fouls too. His neighbor Eggimann allowed Schalke with a few errors some goals but was very unlucky against Wolfsburg because of injury he must left the pitch after 30 minutes. With an ankle fracture he is out now for some weeks. Both back wingers were with light and shadow, Cherundolo’s replacement Chahed with good performances with 3 assist in these two matches while Rausch was indisposed against Schalke and in this case Slomka let him on bench and brought new signed Pogonioli but he saw after 25 minutes a red card …. Although they are one man less they scored twice but with many help from Wolfsburg’s defenders Kjaer and Naldo. In second half it was more or less only defending like hell from Hannover but they got the win. Overall they have huge problems in defensive while their offensive had shown the potential and they are always able to create or score at any time. But nevertheless they miss a lot of players as two players are suspended with MID Hoffmann and DEF Pocognoli while MID Andreasen, DEF Cherundolo, DEF Franca, DEF Eggimann, DEF Felipe, DEF Schulz and MID Stindl are a lot of players injured and also striker Ya Konan is at African Cup. In this case a lot to do for coach Slomka as he must change at least 3 times again, for Hoffmann returns da Silva Pinto from suspension and play on his position in central midfield beside Schmiedebach while Haggui gets the position from injured Eggimann and maybe Pander or Rausch are set as back wing. Hopefully no injury on central back as almost all are out, only these two guys (Djourou and Haggui) available now.

I like the home side a bit more although both are on a losing streak (Bremen at home / Hannover away). The key would be, which team can work better in defensive, this should decide this encounter. Moreover a bet on goals are also very likely here as both are very weak in defensive and both have one of the weakest stats with conceding 37 in 19 matches while upfront they are always able to create and score.

VfB Stuttgart - Bayern München

The last match from Round 19 will be played in Stuttgart between VfB and Bayern Munich. The home team had not many success in the past against this opponent. They are on a huge losing streak right now and it would be very hard for them today too. They are one of the better away teams in this league but lost the first match in Wolfsburg 0-2. Maybe it was a bit unlucky because they are not such bad and the first goal was a shot from Diego from 25 metres. But overall they made to many mistakes and therefore you can not win a game. Also the situation from the coach is still open as Labbadia has not signed the contract but they said that both sides are on a good way. Hopefully they do it fast and end up the concern about this. I said already that Stuttgart is one of the better sides away but at home they did much harder and can not collect so many points so far. They are one of the weakest teams there, maybe they have some problems if they must make the play as they are much better on the counter attacks. It is almost logical with these fast wings who like more to have a lot of space. Both wings with Harnik and Traore has to improve a lot against the best defensive with only 7 goals conceded and only one away from home. This would be hard work and hard fight for them today. With Sakai suspended, Boka at African Cup, Cacau injured long term and Hoogland too they miss some. But also some good news as with important striker Ibisevic returns their best man upfront from suspension and also central midfielder Kvist is ready for his comeback after injury.

The best team this season is rolling again after the break. Sure they did not much against Fürth and maybe if Fürth can use their biggest chance it had been more close. Bayern played only their style down as they want only the points nothing more as they have a lot of matches ahead and in this case they do not want to push from beginning on. Additional after the break it is always a bit difficult to come in running. With the next match ahead they can bring a bigger distance between them and 2nd place as Leverkusen got only a draw and if they win they have an advance of 11 points and this is almost uncatchable. Coach Heynckes managed the defensive problems from last season and they are very hard to beat, also in offensive they have huge potential and they are always able to create some and score anyway. All in all they can only fail if they have an absolutely weak day or their opponent plays the match of the year. It is not clear if Heynckes gives the same lineup a chance or maybe change on 1-2 positions. Robben trained well and maybe should be the first option for a change, in this case Müller or Kroos are out and sit on bench then. No important missings, as only long term injured Badstuber is out. Second keeper Starke has some problem with his hand but it is not so important where is on bench as second keeper.

If anyone want to bet on this I only can prefer Bayern Munich, they are the much better side here, also their players are ahead of Stuttgart's. Of course, sometimes it was very close here but I do not think like this as Stuttgart was to weak at home and Bayern Munich with this defensive and offensive are hard to stop. GL

Hamburger SV - Werder Bremen

Here we have the big north Derby, where both teams are focused to win as it would be very important for their fans as well as the rivalry between both is huge. Hamburg has to improve a lot as they lost the last 3 matches against Bremen and in this case they have to change this now. Stadium should be sold out and the atmosphere is great and also great to watch.

Hamburg started very slow in the 2nd half of the season as the match against Nürnberg was very boring above all in first half, in second half they took the lead and although they were better and had the better opportunities to score more as one they failed and got only a draw in the end. Of course they are not very angry about as the start was well but they have to continue now and if they want to get closer to the top six it is almost a must win situation here. I read some interviews and in all of them are only one statement: They want to win this derby and continue their winning streak at home as they won the last 3  now but they said nothing about an international place for next season. All persons are more of understatement with this matter. Coach Fink does not want to change much as the team did overall well against Nürnberg and therefore almost the same eleven are set to start, only defender Mancienne will be replaced from Bruma as he did in Nürnberg already. Mancienne got injured there and is out for some weeks now. The next option who are not decided yet should be if Skelbred gets a chance as offensive wing but if Arslan is out then and sit only on bench.

What happen to Werder Bremen, they were absolutely outplayed against Dortmund and lost their first important match 0-5 at home. Sure, they are offensive minded but that they play such open and also the wrong tactic or system against quick wings from Dortmund it is almost unknowable. Maybe coach Schaaf explain this as follows as he never change his system or tactic above all at home but he should take a look at the table and he should. His team has conceded a lot and is one of the weakest in this, maybe some change would be very helpful. Sure, the match against Dortmund is gone and they have to focus on Hamburg now and the atmosphere is good in the team as they are very happy that with wing Arnautovic one important player are back and he should help to get the offensive rolling again. He is best scorer for Bremen this season and maybe he can help but as we know his two faces. Some of the reporters are saying that maybe some changes are there because with Elia, Prödl and Gebreselassie three players trained only in B-Team this week. But maybe only some confusion before the derby.

Close match and if the run from HSV continues at home, less goals are expected but this is almost against Bremen's play.

SC Freiburg - Bayer Leverkusen

Freiburg's leader !!!
After coach Streich took over SC Freiburg is on an absolutely good way and they are more in an uptrend as on an downtrend. They are very solid now and they are also very hard to beat or to crack in defensive as their conceded goals show. They have one of the best in this league and maybe this is the key for their good season so far. It looks like that coach Streich takes the focus on this position much more as on offensive and if consider the success so far he is absolutely right. Nevertheless they are on a huge streak now as they do not lose the last 4 matches and if we take this match against Bayern Munich away it was 8 times. They played well in almost all matches and they are very hard to crack as I said with one of the best defensive as they conceded only in 6 from 18 matches 2 goals or more. And in this 18 matches they keep 7 times a clean sheet and in the others they conceded only one. Last match against Mainz they did their job and got a point, is was an open match but both were not able to finish their attacks. But overall deserved draw. For this encounter one important man is back with Rosenthal, who was suspended against Mainz and he should get the place from Guede who has to move out and is on bench. Defender Mujdza has back problems and is not ready for the starting lineup.

On the q.t. Leverkusen stands on 2nd position and work on their best season since years. Manager Völler has found the right combination with Hypiaä and Lewandowski as coaching team and they lead the team very well. They are in good shape as the first match against Frankfurt showed, as they had some problems at the beginning but after they took the lead they play very good and I think this is one of their key facts. As with the lead they can count on their fast wings with Castro and Schürrle who helps a lot and give striker Kießling upfront the opportunities for goals. I am not sure it this can happen today as Freiburg is also known as solid defending team and they are for sure run not in counter. This time maybe Leverkusen must find another way for their finish. It's up to the players to create and maybe have some ideas more in their plays. The same eleven are ready again as with Bellarabi and Kadlec are the same players out since last match.

I expect a very close match as Leverkusen are not with such a success in this season as at home where they won almost all, away they are only average and against a team with huge self confidence and in good shape too it would be a much harder task, of course. Freiburg at home in their close stadium and hot atmosphere can take maybe advantage of it.

Borussia Dortmund - 1.FC Nürnberg

What an amazing start from Borussia Dortmund into second half of the season. They totally outplayed Werder Bremen in their stadium and won absolutely deserved 5-0. It was more as great to watch how the offensive machine from BvB worked above all Reus, Götze and Lewandowski had a lot of fun and were so hungry to play football. They created a lot of excellent actions and their opponents had never a chance to catch them anyway. After the match coach Klopp and his team were very pleased about their performance and they can count on this in the upcoming matches. After an average first half it would be surely a boost to start like this but I have also to mention that Werder Bremen played like they do in every match. They are more focused on offensive as on defensive and therefore many mistakes were in their play and also they are more as open in defensive and this was the key. Dortmund’s players like if they have much space as they are almost unstoppable then. It would be very interesting if they play teams who are more focused on defensive and stands more deep as Bremen did. If this should be the case, of course, it would be not such easy to overcome the opponent as they did against Bremen. In the future there are more matches like this, I am absolutely sure. Therefore they can show that they are able to crack such teams and go their way as their target is to overcome Leverkusen and get at least 2nd place. Coach Klopp maybe has a bit more options for this encounter as with Bender returns the fighter and Kuba who was on bench against Bremen because of slight injury should be at 100% now and if he starts Reus has to move and Großkreutz must back on bench then. Not available is defender Subotic but he will be replaced by Santana.

It was all about the debut from new man on the line Wiesinger and he wants to start well. Sure it was more an average start till bad but in the end at least a point against a team from Hamburg who was not much better and maybe the draw was deserved but if we take a look at the big chances from Hamburg is was more as lucky as Hamburg hit the post twice and also missed some others. First half was very bad from both and in second half it was a little bit better but overall as I said. Hamburg take the lead and awaken Nürnberg from their winter break, after it Nürnberg pushed a lot and get rewarded five minutes later and equalized but the last 15 minutes was Hamburg much closer to win as Nürnberg. Some were surprised about the lineup from new coach Wiesinger as he let important midfielder Kiyotake on bench and also on central back he had to make some changes as Nilsson was ill. Also Feulner was not available and upfront he counts on Pekhardt who scored instead of Polter. Overall the start was ok but they have a big match ahead and it would be interesting how long they can hold the pressure away as Dortmund is of course a much better side as Hamburg was above all their class speaks for its own. First thing would be defending like hell and maybe looking forward to hurt Dortmund over the wings as with Mak and Esswein they have some fast weapons for counter. But it is not sure if Esswein is in starting lineup again after his weak performance. But you never know since Wiesinger is on the line. Also possible is that Kiyotake and Feulner are back in starting eleven but it is almost all top secret so far.

Overall Dortmund should be favorite in this one above all they play at home and they want continue their winning streak after their easy win in Bremen and on the other side Nürnberg wants to hurt BvB, but are they able? They play more compact and stands more deep as Bremen for sure, maybe if Dortmund can not take the lead fast it would be more a puzzle. Important would be that they can control Reus and Götze, if they can do this, Dortmund gets some trouble. Let's see what happen.

Attention !!!

At the beginning of this blog, I mentioned that I have worked out a System and select all my plays according to this. I do not know if anyone can still remember but it is not so important at all. With this post I want to bring it back into memory and also allow you a small insight of my work in previous years / seasons. Of course not all of these picks are verified and not even played all, especially in the beginning it was more a test phase and I have improved it every season. As of today, it is on a top level, and hardly to be improved. For this reason, I present you this link available, and anyone can get a view. Sure I have removed all the important parameters from the data sheet, because I do not want that my system is copied or resold after I have invested so much time, energy and effort over the years.

Klick on the Link to see all Systemplays: Sheet "Performance"

Since I run this blog, all picks are verified and can be reviewed at this Link: Verifybet.com

Of course, I can understand that some doubts arise because not all picks are verified but it will only be a look. I made this verification step only since I run the blog. I want therefore only prove or show that with a lot of discipline, dedication and hard work, it is possible to make profit. Undoubtedly always ups and downs are possible, as is well known in this business but at the end I can guarantee profit. I showed this already with the Link posted above to my data sheet “Performance”.

Finally, I want to thank all my followers for your trust and also point out that my special offer is valid until the end of this month. All are welcome, whether Readers, Tipsters, Syndicates or Investors. If anyone is interested or become curious by this post, then do not hesitate and contact me: germansoccerinsider@gmail.com

1.FC Nürnberg - Hamburger SV

The new coaching team on the line for 1.FC Nürnberg
Wow, what to say about 1.FC Nürnberg, should I be proud that they count on young and maybe unexperienced coach with Wiesinger or should I be a bit angry because of Hecking went to a bigger Club as Wolfsburg is with more potential or more money in hand. I am not a fan of fast changes, especially the smaller clubs are always being affected. If bigger clubs comes and want some players it is almost sure that they get him but it is always against smaller clubs. Ok, so not look to much back, furthermore look ahead and say that Wiesinger made some experience with second league team Ingolstadt where he was sucked after some time and worked now for the second team from 1.FC Nürnberg who plays in Regional League Bavaria. He did a good job so far and maybe this was the actually reason for manager Bader to get attention of him. Of course, this model was for sure the cheaper one with Wiesinger and Reutershahn on the line as double team. But Wiesinger is responsible for the final decisions as lineup and tactic but they want to work very close. This model is already being practiced in Leverkusen, maybe Nürnberg copy this. In the past days Wiesinger gave some interviews and he said that he wants to change not much and they play the same tactic as they did under coach Hecking. Therefore 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1 are the preferred system for the second half of the season, also not many changes in squad too. He works with the same players as Hecking, only Klement signed a contract at Rostock and left but he was anyway no important one. Their aim for sure it to get 40 points as far as they can to be safe and can plan for the next season in 1.BL. For this encounter they miss Hlousek who is long term injured but work on his comeback and defender Antonio but he was not much a factor in the past after his huge mistake in first half of the season.

As in Nürnberg the same almost in Hamburg too, always trouble with Coach, Players, Manager, Fans, Money and so on. After Hamburg started very bad they signed VdV and their way was up and they are close to the top 6 which is their aim. They want to play for the international places but if they want, they must start much better as to begin of the season. Maybe this can happen as players and coach work longer together now and everyone knows the tactic, style of play and so on. But preparation was not as easy as with VdV private problems and also injury after some trainings days was not the best situation for coach Fink but VdV recovered and is back in business now and he training with the team already again and should be available today. With Jiracek, Scharner and 2nd keeper Drobny they miss some but not an important one. They have to look forward and do better as to beginning as they lost at home to Nürnberg, and they want revenge here. The sign look very good as Hamburg plays much better on the road as at home (sure better record at home, but they managed it only in the end), maybe this is due to their problems to make the game, better sit back on go for counter over their fast wings and strikers as with Son, Beister and Rudnevs they have some weapons in their rows upfront. Also in the middle with VdV who is able to create some and set his teammates in scene.

Overall I expect a close match, maybe with less goals as both teams are not known as scoring machines and additional we saw yesterday that some teams need some time to get in their rhythm. Moreover both want not to risk much from beginning on as points are important for both but if one team can take advantage and take the lead, it is almost the winner.

1899 Hoffenheim - Bor. M'Gladbach

Very important match for 1899 Hoffenheim as with a win they can get some self confidence and hope for a better future back. They played one of the weakest first half of the season since they are in 1.BL. Sure, if you compare the last years something is very interesting here. Their first year in 1.BL they were absolutely unknown and they played really great and good soccer and also were very successful but after Rangnick left the club as coach they are on an absolutely downtrend and season after season they are weaker. Many think they underperformed so far but I think the process for this was many years ago. They are absolutely on the right place at the moment, and if they continue like this, maybe they can reach the aim and stay in 1.BL but if they do not change a lot for next season they are for sure relegated. Of course, many problems there and also the huge pressure on the team because of former Coach Babbel spoke from an international place and maybe this is a bit to high for them. They should go their way and go step after step to establish them in 1.BL. Some changes are done now as with Kurz a new coach took over and he said that he made some changes. First one was that keeper Wiese is not longer their captain and former man Beck and Salihovic got this job. As the team showed many weak points manager Müller search for new players. Some are there but only young ones who maybe can help not immediately. And on the other side they have to replace their imp. man on the sixer position Rudy who is out longer. Also with Schipplock and Schröck they miss two other guys and maybe Compper can leave the club as he was one of the guys who made a lot of mistakes in defensive and allow with many goals.

Uff, what a start from Gladbach, they got nothing at beginning of the season but coach Favre managed it and he brought his team back on track and they were rolling in the end. They are close to the international places and if they continue like the last matches 2012 they are on a good way and they can reach it again. They got some players back from injury as with de Jong, Daems and Herrmann were imp. players not available in some matches but now, fully fit and coach Favre can choose from a lot. The defensive was not always such good as last season but with young keeper ter Stegen who had a very weak period were one of the important points here. He is back and with huge self confidence as he made a really great match against Bayern Munich in the end of 2012. This showed his strength and talent very well. Defensive row with Stranzl, Dominguez, Jantschke and Wendt work additional better that they will be more able to hold the pressure away from their goal. But one of the important change what Favre made in the first half of the season where they are winless and absolutely away from their great form was that he count on old guy Marx, since he is back on the double six Gladbach do better and better. Gladbach can bring almost their best available eleven on the pitch today.

Overall it would be very interesting to see how Hoffenheim can come out after the break with their new coach and what tactic Kurz has choose. I do not think that all is perfect at beginning and therefore Gladbach can hurt them maybe as they are much more balanced and they know all their processes better as they are working together longer.
