Karlsruher SC - VfL Bochum

Since 6 Rounds is Karlsruhe unbeaten and they are aiming for more, for the next win this day against Bochum. On the other side is Bochum coming to Karlsruhe with only 1 Point out of the last 3 matches. Of course they want to stop the negative run, after losing to Leipzig and incredible to FSV Frankfurt they got a Point against rival St. Pauli last weekend.  KSC got also a 0-0 draw in Nürnberg, with a win they can climb up in table while Bochum need a win as well if they do not want to lose the contact to the top. 

 

It was talked a lot this week above all over Manager Todt who has some offer from other clubs but he said that he wants to work on at KSC. This matter is gone now and they have to bring the focus on the important match against Bochum today. They count again on their best part the defensive line which allowed not much and is hard to beat what 3 clean sheets in a row showed. The duo Stoll and Mauersberger is doing a great job and they replaced both injured central backs Gulde and Gordon very well. With the injury of both they had some doubts according the strength of the defensive but this is gone now. Both are on the pitch again and they want continue their great run and good work of course.

In central midfield is Peitz back from suspension and should rotate into the starting lineup for Krebs who did his job against Nürnberg excellent. Some hopes are there for Torres to start from beginning on after replacing weak Barry in Nürnberg at half time. Barry has to do with some illness this week additionally. Torres has some good memories to Bochum because he scored the 1-1 one year ago. Maybe a good sign but the form is not there at the moment and he is running behind. Despite the excellent working defensive, the offensive is doing really hard and if Hoffer does not score they have a lot of problems. Also they need a lot of space for their offensive play because all they players are very quick and need space to bring all their strength on the pitch.

 

The team from Bochum is very happy to play in Karlsruhe today. They have a very good statistic there and they are unbeaten in the last 8 matches with KSC. This is an excellent time to get back on track after having some problems lately. Coach Verbeek was not so unhappy with the Point against Pauli but he said also that the victories will come again. They are working good and with a bit luck they win these matches, what they did not have in Frankfurt two weeks ago. His aim is to win matches and for this he is working hard. With what plan he wants to overcome the great defensive from KSC is more as open.

The midfield duo Hoogland and Losilla (after suspension) should start again although central back Simunek replaced Losilla well and showed a good performance. If he stays in team it is more in central back but both Bastians and Fabian are doing their job well and it is not expected that one of these two much on bench. Therefore Simunek has a place on bench like all the other players Raffael, Eisfeld and Mlapa. The offensive midfield player Eisfeld got a chance against Pauli but he could not convince therefore he is on bench again. For him can play Bulut or maybe Mlapa but last one is a preferred option later in the game.

 

Despite losing the last away game after leading 2-0 we trust Bochum again. They have the weapons and power to get the win in Karlsruhe. The home side is not so balanced, they can count on a great defensive but the offensive is average and do very hard. If Bochum is able to score 1-2 goals it is up to themselves to win this encounter. The last matches there let us hope for a good outcome this time.

Greuther Fürth - Arminia Bielefeld

After the Coup on „Betzenberg“ Arminia is aiming for more and a better position. With a win they can climb up to the upper midfield where Fürth is sitting at the moment. With 10 Points on the road they are much better as at home where they were not able to win a single game. On the other side is Fürth under some pressure after losing 3 of the last 4 matches. For this reason they lost the contact to the top.

After having some good weeks Fürth was called as Top Team but the last weeks showed that they are far from that. They have to improve in almost all parts above all the offensive is very harmless right now. All the offensive players like Zulj, Stiepermann, Berisha and Freis had a really bad day against Düsseldorf last Friday and they should try to raise stakes. If all these are in starting lineup is very open as Coach Ruthenbeck expects a very difficult opponent. The team from Bielefeld is very nasty in every minute and you have not the time to need too long for decisions on the pitch.

One of the alternatives in offense can be Weilandt who can replace weak Zulj maybe. Also in central midfield they must change according to the muscle injury from Sukalo. In this case he uses the same formation he has put up some time with Hofmann and Gjasula. The first one should play more defensive minded while Gjasula should be the active and creative part of both. Of course there can be more changes but it is open due to less alternatives anyway.

Arminia Coach Meier is very happy to play on the road again according to the winless streak at home. Away from home they must not be the active team, they can be more relaxed and allow the opponent to make the active part. This gives them a lot of space for their counter attacks what is the preferred style of them. They are coming to Fürth with a lot of self confidence and motivation as well above all former keeper Hesl said that they want to win there.

He has already 6 clean sheets this Season and he is looking for the next one today. The next one is Nöthe who played in Fürth some years ago. Maybe his former club coming to the right time, to score a goal after long time. He is waiting since 10 matches for a goal and had not the best performances lately. His rivals on this position with Affane and Görlitz are doing also not so well what allows him Coach Meier to remain in starting lineup. It looks like that the same winning team from Kaiserslautern starts today.  

1.FC Nürnberg - Karlsruher SC

The last game takes place in Nürnberg where two traditional teams meet each other which both aim is to return sooner or later into 1.Bundesliga. After some of the teams above failing the chance is there for both to close the gap to the top. Whatever only the Winner can hope for better times, the Loser has to take the focus down to the teams behind. Nevertheless both teams are in good shape and they had good results lately. The home team from Nürnberg is unbeaten since 3 games and hammered Düsseldorf 5-1 in Cup under the week while KSC had already 5 unbeaten matches.

It is clear for Nürnberg’s Coach Weiler that this match is a difficult one but he wants to win this anyway. Moreover they have to win it above all at home. He said that they have won not much but they were not beaten at home anyway. But only wins help them for a better time and atmosphere. 

It is not far away that he counts on the same eleven who managed an excellent performance against Düsseldorf in Cup. He puts Füllkrug and Burgstaller up as attacker and both could convince while Danny Blum was successfully after he came in. Therefore Blum and also Möhwald face hard times with a place on bench. Although both are candidates for the starting lineup they are out at the moment. The standard specialist Möhwald can make the difference in some situations and of course. The defensive part is also changed compared to begin of the Season. At the moment Sepsi plays on the left wing while Leibold makes good games on the offensive wing. Central in midfield plays youngster Erras instead of veteran Polak beside Behrens. Above all the youngster is a very good partner to Behrens and both gave them more stability. In central back it has changed a lot there too. Former starter Hovland was injured some time now and with Bulthuis who is not very popular by Coach Weiler and should have sold to begin of the Season build up the central back with Margreitter now. Both harmonize very well and why should Weiler changes here anything. Maybe he has found the right mix and balance for the starting lineup now.

The team from Karlsruhe comes to Nürnberg with a lot of self confidence, although they know that this match is very difficult according to the home strength from Nürnberg. But Coach Kauczinski is very pleased with his team right now and he believes in them that they are able to get the win there. As always they want to be a hard opponent and fight really hard. They try to be as compact as they can and have some pressure on the opponent players. Most of the away games they defend but have real great weapons up front for counter attacks. Kauczinksi was talking a lot above all that their offensive play has improved recently and they want to walk on.

The 2-0 win to Kaiserslautern was a great step forward for them the team looked very good but this time important central midfield player Peitz is suspended. He can be replaced from Meffert or Krebs, it is not out yet who plays beside Prömel now. The other positions remain unchanged because it is not need to change there. The central back with Stoll and Mauersberger had found each other and played on a good level lately. Therefore the miss from both central defender Gordon and Gulde is not the problem right now. With Thoelke they have an alternative back on bench today.

SC Freiburg - Eintracht Braunschweig

Despite the 0-1 lose in St. Pauli Freiburg is going into this encounter as leader because both Bochum and St. Pauli could not take advantage and overcome Freiburg on Friday. But after the 0-3 defeat against Augsburg at home they have to improve before this game otherwise strong away side Braunschweig is able to hurt the leader. It is also a must for Braunschweig to go for all three Points, if they can manage this they are only 1 Point behind Freiburg and have a really good position after having a lot of problems to begin of the Season. For this it needs to break through the negative run from 19 matches without a win against Freiburg. All the last 7 duels were lost !!!

The Cup game against Augsburg was not the big matter for Streich these days, he was working on this game and to be in good shape because the league is more important as Cup although the money would help them anyway. He saw a lot of things in this Cup game and he knows on which things he has to work now.
According to the Cup game he plans not so many changes. Of course keeper Schwolow returns and replace Klandt who got some match praxis in Cup and Abrashi should play instead of Schuster who was also in starting lineup for the Cup game. More changes are only possible if the doubtful players must pass. They have with Höfler and Philipp some with slight problems, if both they must looks what they can do but with Schuster and Guede they have some in back which can help immediately. Also doubtful is joker Kleindienst, the others Torrejon, Kübler, Dähli and Hedenstad are all not available due to injury worries.

Eintracht Coach Lieberknecht is talking very well from Freiburg the last days and he knows how difficult this match can be. Maybe they got some self confidence back with the win against Heidenheim and also in Cup but they have to walk on and look to close the gap to the top. He said also that Freiburg is the absolutely favorite today and they must have an excellent day if they want to get here something. They have to invest much more as on other days or other opponents.
Nevertheless he is very positive and believes in his team that they can be a hard opponent who fight a lot for the Points. The squad is looking better compared to last weeks, only Boland is a big miss at the moment because he was in good shape and was key in Lieberknecht's system. The defensive guy Correia has some problems and is a doubt here but all expect him to start. Also it looks like that no changes will be done as the team was very good in Cup and they showed a really good play and were balanced in all parts. Both Omladic and Holtmann can hope to start again today as their Cup performance was good although on unusual positions.

FC Augsburg - FSV Mainz 05

Some of you are following me for long time now and you know what I have written to begin of the Season about FC Augsburg. The situation is exactly what our prediction was as every small team who played an excellent Season and reached an international spot are doing really bad the next Season. Almost all small teams which were involved in international matches like Aachen, Frankfurt, Mainz and Freiburg had a really difficult and hard Season. Additional all these teams fight against relegation because they do not have the squad for so many matches and also on such a high level. They have to invest much more as bigger teams and this cost a lot of power, power which is not available in league games and with every lost game the mood is getting from bad to worse. This is exactly the Point Augsburg reached at the moment and they have to go through hard times now. Of course the Team with all Coaches working hard to find some solutions but this is not as easy as expected. Above all the style of play has changed a lot, last Season they could play from a compact defense and come over their fast wings to good opportunities, this Season more different with a lot of ball possession and more controlling of the game because all teams come to Augsburg and play much more defensive minded as last Season. This is not the preferred style of play from them and they have not the players in the squad for this new style but they have to look forward and find some solutions for the actual situation.    

The team from Mainz has had not the best moment lately and they are on a huge losing run. Never in history they have lost 3 matches at home in a row. Things must be changed immediately and after the hard defeat to Werder Bremen Coach Schmidt said that they have to give their supporters some back for this awful play from them. According to this result they have to make amends and try to invest much more as they have done lately. Coach Schmidt demands a reaction from his players and he knows that they are able to bring much better performances as they had delivered in these matches. A good sign should be that they play away from home because the pressure should not be such high on them. This let them play much more relaxed and they are not under the aspect they have to make the game. It is not the style of Mainz to control a game, they did much better if they can play from a good compact defensive over both wings very fast what allowed them to create much more and be much more dangerous as well in the past. One of the key players should be Malli who is one of the heads in Mainz offensive play and if he has a good day they can take advantage of him. Moreover all the other players beside him get more space and can make some trouble on the defense of the opponent. 

Both teams with a lot of problems lately as both are not able to be the active team in a game. These teams are more effective if they can sit back and give the opponent a lot of ball possession while they can wait for some mistakes and get a lot of space for their counter attacks. The home team Augsburg has the position that they are in a situation where Mainz allow them to control the game but this is not their preferred style of play and also they have not the players for this. Therefore we believe that Mainz can take advantage in this game and get a result in the end.

Hertha BSC Berlin - Bor. M'Gladbach

After having a lot of trouble at the end of last Season, Hertha is showing a lot of improvements this Season. They can maybe be the surprise team this Season because every Season we have such a team who is not on the list of the experts like Augsburg was last Season. The work from Coach Dardai is excellent and he has found the right mix this Season. Additional Manager Preetz signed some good players which match very well into Dardai’s system what their success from the first Rounds showed so far. Of course they are riding a wave of success and aiming for more, they are hungry and like to continue this way. Key fact of their success is their good defensive play and they are very hard to beat there and also hard to play. It is very difficult to get some good opportunities against them while in offense they are always able to be successful with some counter attacks over their quick offensive players. Despite their good results, they are not a team which likes to control the match, they are more a defending side and count on counter. Therefore if they take the lead it is very hard to play against them additional. All these small teams are having almost the same style and if they must changes to a more controlling one they do very hard and have a lot of problems.

Wow, what a run from Gladbach after starting with 5 defeats in a row under former Coach Favre. But after Favre said he wants to leave because he can not help the team anymore they are starting a real great run under interims Coach Schubert. He has found the right mix, balance and players to start this streak with 5 wins in a row now. The team is back in business and all players which had a lot of problems to begin of the Season are back on track, all their self confidence and motivation from last Season are there now again. The play is excellent and they overcome the opponents like last Season with their great and fast play. Despite some important players are missing due to injury they were able to replace them. With success and maybe a good run all the players if young or old grow with their tasks. Also they minimize their mistakes and getting more and more safety in their play. Some setback arrived already in the game against Schalke where wing Hahn was seriously injured and is out for this year now. Also before the Cup game against Schalke on Wednesday was Raffael out with illness. Some more problems has arrived for Gladbach after the huge injury from Hahn is Jantschke the next one who will miss this game. The other players who are injured to both mentioned above are Herrmann, Stranzl and Schulz who came from Hertha BSC short before the transfer window closed.

I am going against the run from Gladbach who have won 5 in a row in BL now. They lost a lot of energy in the last games and also they had a lot of luck in Cup under the week too. Sooner or later the run is gone from them and they have a real hard opponent to play today. Hertha is a solid working team who has a lot of potential and they are unbeaten in their stadium what gives them a lot of self confidence for this game. From 27 matches in Berlin could Gladbach win only 6 and they never won two in a row there. We are very keen on Hertha not to lose this one !!!

FC Heidenheim - Union Berlin

After reaching quarter final in Cup for the first time the self confidence and motivation is high in Heidenheim these days. Additional they can count on their home strength as well because they are one of the best teams in their own stadium. The opponent they face today coming from Berlin but the good times seems gone for Union right now. They must look forward not to get more involved in relegation battle as they did really bad last weeks. With only 11 Points out of the 12 Rounds they are already in danger zone and this is not what they want or have expected before the Season. Things must be changes immediately but after all the bad results lately it is very difficult to come out.

All ask Coach Schmidt if he does see any disadvantage after the 120 Cup minutes against Sandhausen under the week while Union could prepared the whole week for this game. He said that this is only a problem for the head of the players. If they are able to get over their limits they are strong enough to win this one, of course. He wants to see a fighting team which wants the win and the three Points, he does not expect any excuses.
Compared to the game in Braunschweig where he changed 4 times are changes possible again. After the Cup game returns keeper Zimmermann into goal again, also Titsch Rivero can be an option in central midfield instead of Theuerkauf but he has made a good job and should remain maybe. Most important change is the return of captain Schnatterer who was on bench against Sandhausen but he is one of the key players in Heidenheim with his great free kicks and corners. In this case Leipertz move into attack or even on the right wing. In attack it is more as open which player he wants to field there. Beside Leipertz are Morabit, Vogelsammer, Frahn and Grimaldi options there. Grimaldi made some self advertising in Cup with a good performance while Morabit showed his skills over the last Season games already.

Only 7 Points out of 7 matches collected new Coach Lewandowski with his team after he took over from Düwel. This is not the best number and they are getting in trouble more and more right now. He wants to bring some new impulse into the team and changed the captain. Old one Kreilach has to give this function to Kessel who should push the team more with his great power. Also some of the players are send to the second team U23 from Union.
It is more as open if this procedure help Lewandowski and Union at the moment. They make a lot of noise although they have already a lot of trouble. Also some changes in starting lineup and tactic are very possible. The defensive line remain maybe unchanged although Puncec had not the best day against Paderborn but should be a starter because of less alternatives on this positions anyway. In midfield they he can count on Fürstner and Kreilach in central midfield while Zejnullahu and Daube could not convince on this position against Paderborn and the compactness was not there for a good defensive work. Also possible is a changes to 4-4-2 with Brandy in attack beside Wood. The open position on the wing can take Trimmel then.

Although Heidenheim had a hard Cup game under the week I can not miss one of the strongest home teams in this league against a team who is in huge trouble and has not his best moment right now. Of course we can expect a close game but if Heidenheim brings only some of their home power on the pitch they will win this game. They have one of the best defensive and it is very hard to score against them additional while Union is very open and conceding already 22 goals. They can not score as much as they get behind them. We trust the home side here, they look much better to me.

1.FC Kaiserslautern - Arminia Bielefeld

After 3 defeats in a row Kaiserslautern’s head Coach change blow out. If they do not have more trouble in and around the club they should win this one otherwise Fünfstück is getting under huge pressure already and they must look more down as up. Also the upcoming weeks are not as easy with a draw or lose. With Bielefeld arrives the draw king of the league on “Betzenberg” and they would be happy to leave with a draw, their 10 in 13. Match of course.

Coach Fünfstück tries to be as professional as he can and he does not look back, he wants to look forward and give his team self confidence and a good match plan on hand. In his second home game after he stands on the sideline he believes that they win this encounter and continue the home streak they have started against Düsseldorf 3-0 some weeks ago.

With what players he wants to overcome Bielefeld is more as open. The defensive line made a good job in Bochum although they scored an own goal but should remain unchanged anyway. This means that Heubach and Schulze who moved into the starting lineup in Cup remain there. In central midfield he has no alternatives what gives Karl and Halfar a clear starting place while Jenssen was a big disappointment against KSC on this positon. The offensive has a lot to improve after three matches without scoring a single goal. An option can be Klich who plays as creative one behind striker Przybylko while Colak sit on bench. Both had not the best moments and it can be a coin toss who he takes out. Some more options he has in back with Pich who returns from injury but should be not an option for the starting lineup therefore Gaus and Piossek starts on the wings.

Bielefeld’s Coach Meier could prepare the whole week with his team for this important encounter. Therefore he said that he does not want to return without anything from Kaiserslautern. He wants to start with a compact defensive and hope that Kaiserslautern does not score an early goal what brings the atmosphere pro Bielefeld and if they can hold out long it is not so impossible to get some there.

Although Bielefeld has a lot of problems in offensive and to score goals he wants to give the same team a chance which played only 0-0 against Sandhausen. This was not the first time they wasted a lot with they opportunities. They have to work to be more effective in front of the goal but away from home they did a bit better as at home. Nevertheless the alternatives are less according to their long injury list with Junglas, Brinkmann, Müller, Burmeister and Kluge. The only real alternative for the offensive is Jopek, he can play maybe for Ulm or Görlitz but he should be a good substitute to bring some quickness in their offensive play in second half.

VfL Bochum - FC St. Pauli

This is the top match between VfL Bochum and FC St. Pauli at “Revirpower Stadium” on firday evening. Bochum lost the leading position due to bad results lately and falls down to fourth place while St. Pauli could hold the pressure high with some wins and climbed up to third place. They are one Point ahead of Bochum and with a win Bochum has the change to overcome them again today. Despite fourth and third place they have both the change to overcome all teams above them, both can jump on top with a win. Therefore the motivation should be high but Bochum is looking more to get more stability in their play and results while St. Pauli wants to continue their good run after beating Freiburg last weekend.

Before the Cup game against Kaiserslautern Coach Verbeek changed on 5 positions what is normally not his style but he has to risk some after the last results. He had the right feeling and they could take revenge for the league defeat and advance in the end to next Round. It is not sure if he allows the same players to start again, as he talked that he wants to force the fight for the positions in team and get more ambition in training sessions.

Sure is the return from keeper Luthe who was replaced by Cup keeper Riemann. Also Perthel is expected to start after was suspended against FSV Frankfurt. Also Mlapa and Weis are maybe out of the starting lineup because with Terrazzino and Terodde they have very good and excellent players for these positions and they are always able to make the difference in a game. Above all Terodde is always able to score and help the team and of course seeded. Eisfeld replaced Hoogland in central midfield against FCK and can have some hope to remain in the starting lineup because of the suspension of the second central midfield player Losilla.  

Before St. Pauli travelled to Bochum Coach Lienen said in an interview that he is very pleased about the offensive style of Bochum and it would be very difficult to allow nothing against a team who is able to create always a lot of opportunities. With the huge offensive power from Bochum they have to live and find some good solutions to keep a clean sheet. To begin of the Season they conceded only 4 goals in 9 games but before the win against Freiburg 1-0 they have some problems with their defensive play and conceded 6. They have to find the right balance what was seen against Freiburg already again.

After the Cup knock out in first Round to Gladbach they have the whole week to prepare for this encounter and Coach Lienen should be able to highlight out the strength of Bochum’s offensive play. Overall should be the same starting lineup on the pitch as to Freiburg lately. The only open position should be the central offensive one where Maier has some muscle problems and is not able to start maybe. If he says yes, Sobota who replaced him against Freiburg must be on bench after having not the best actions in last game. Additional are some rotation in starting lineup possible if Kalla plays central can Buchtmann play on the wing and also Sobota on the right wing. It is all up to Lienen what he decides and thing this is the right option against such an offensive playing opponent.

FC St. Pauli - SC Freiburg

It is already clear that Freiburg hold the lead as their rival for the first Place lost on Friday. They can go into this game very relaxed and expand the lead. But this match is not an easy one because in front of full house they face in Hamburg St. Pauli with very hot atmosphere. This supporters are really great and it is an special match for every team who plays there. St. Pauli has the chance to climb up to third place with a win and continue their good Season.

St. Pauli Coach Lienen has a lot of respect before Freiburg and he said that this team has a lot of quality and they are one of the best teams in this league right now. The way for promotion goes only over Freiburg after what he has seen so far. He was also warning for the great offensive from Freiburg which is always able to create dangerous situations or score some goals additionally. Therefore he wants to see a compact and fighting home side which fight for their chance. 

Squad wise they have almost the same players available as last weekend where they got a 3-3 draw in Berlin against Union. The defensive line and the central midfield remain the same while in offensive depends a lot on youngster Maier. Against Union he was ill and came into the game late while this time he should start but he faces some muscle problems now. With this doubt they have so look for a replacement again. If he must pass maybe Sobota can play this position in offensive. For this reason some more changes are possible as with Picault who had a bad day against Union move one player out of the starting lineup and Kalla or Choi is more a option there. Sure not in the squad is Alushi while Gonther returns into the squad after his injury time. 

The Coach from Freiburg was very happy about the compliments he gets from Lienen but he gave them all back and find some good words about St. Pauli as well. St. Pauli is doing great this Season and they have a lot of potential and quality in their rows, they play a good and attraktive style of football and they should have been warned.

It is very possible that the team who won against Fürth 5-2 will be changed on one position because Mujdza is back from suspension and should jump immediately back into the starting lineup. His replacement Frantz made a good game on this position although this is not his know and preferred one. He move forward more in offensive area where he has more his strength while Hufnagel is out of the lineup then. All the others gets a new chance and the trust form Coach to show his good shape once again. Not available are Torrejon, Kübler and Dähle which are all out longer this season.

SV Darmstadt 98 - VfL Wolfsburg

The new promoted team from Darmstadt is one of the surprise this Season. They have already one Point more as Paderborn last Season and what allow them to hope to stay away from relegation battle. For this reason they have to collect some Points in the upcoming weeks but it should be not as easy at as least. After having some problems with some of the opponents above all at home to Mainz they changed their style of play back to a none interested one. They are playing very compact and try to allow not much but if they get the ball they are not playing out with some passes, no they are forcing to hit the ball wide and try to get it in the offense zone with their tall attackers. Also one of their main weapons are corners and free kicks where they could score 5 of their 12 goals so far. This is one of the best number in the league at the moment. Not many changes are expected. Back up striker Stoh-Engel is ill and doubtful, Junior Diaz has some problems under the week and is doubtful, also his replacement Holland on this position, if both must pass Stegmayer can be the third one to start then.

We wrote some lines about VfL Wolfsburg one week ago, maybe some of you remember about the „Diesel Gate“ and Sponsoring problems they have now. Nevertheless the team is doing a great job despite these problems. Coach Hecking has found the right mix and balance and they are running from success to success at the moment. After winning to 1899 on the weekend they were able to get the second win in Champions League against PSV Eindhoven 2-0. In this game was seen that they are playing very compact and with a lot of power. They allowed not much in these 90 minutes and were very focused. Up front they have real good players which are all able to make the difference with their creative idea. Both Draxler and Caligiuri support lone striker Dost and a little bit behind playing Kruse very well. This quartet is very dangerous if they have some space and get in the right position. If they can bring some of these things on the pitch against Darmstadt they should be able to get the first away win this Season. Of course it can be that Hecking rotates a bit because with Jung, Klose, Schäfer, Arnold, Vieirinha and Schürrle he has some in back who can be an even alternative to some of the starters. But he would of course not change in form and important players. 

The newcomer did very well so far this Season and surprised in some games but at home they have really some problems. They could win only 1 of the last 12 home games (1-5-6). If giant Wolfsburg with his excellent players is not able to use this, they never get a better opportunity. It speaks all for Wolfsburg and they are very strong against free kicks and corners where they did not concede a single goal this season. This is key against fighting Darmstadt who scored 5 of their 12 goals with this variant. In both of the last games BL and CL showed Wolfsburg their excellent form, so why not using this to beat Darmstadt ......

Bayer Leverkusen - VfB Stuttgart

Statistic:

- Leverkusen is unbeaten since 10 matches with Stuttgart (7-3-0).
- They scored in all recent 15 games at least 1 goal, average 2,5 goals in this period.
- Against no other team was Leverkusen so successful, 31 wins and 122 goals scored.
- Leverkusen won 8 of their last 10 home games and lost only 1 time (to Darmstadt 0-1).
- Bayer allowed in the last 4 BL games only 22 shots on goal, absolutely top !!!
- In this period they conceded only 1 goal and this was the own goal from Leno against Augsburg.
- Stuttgart's road games had always something like spectacle, 16 goals in 4 games!!!

Of course it was not all well in recent matches and we had not a lot of luck when Leverkusen played against Augsburg some weeks ago. They conceded a really funny goal due to mistake form keeper Leno and also up front they were not able to score from penalty what brought us a loser. This time they have the next chance to do better and give us some back what they have lost in this game. Of course they had a really tough game under the week against Roma in Champions League but after they were 2-0 up they were not able to expand the lead or try to hold the lead, no they conceded 4 goals in a row and almost all goals comes from dangerous free kicks from Pjanic. But nevertheless the moral is really good in this team and they bounced back and equalized this important game in the end what was very important for them anyway. With this excellent end they can come into this game with a lot of self confidence and passion what should help them to overcome a Stuttgart side with some problems today. The system Coach Schmidt choose should be 4-4-2.

Stuttgart did us a great favor last sunday with a 1-0 win against Ingolstadt. It was not all well in this game and they may had some luck because the goal was small offside and should not count for them. Nevertheless a win is a win and they are coming to Leverkusen with much more problems. Because important central midfield player Serey Die was sent off with yellow red and is a big miss on this position because Gentner is already doubtful again. This means they have to build up this part absolutely new. If Gentner must really pass Guezo can play this part. All the other positions remain maybe the same as against Ingolstadt according to less alternatives right now. With Kostic, Ginczek and Kruse they miss important guys. The defensive play was very shaky against Ingolstadt and can be a big problem against the guns from Leverkusen. The offense from VfB looks good but they are to harmless in front of the goal.

We consider a lot of problems for Stuttgart above all their defensive looks not so good, they are very shaky with all the young players like Sunjic, Baumgartl and Gruezo. Some parts of the match against Ingolstadt they had a lot of luck not to concede some goals. The offensive play was also not so good as in former weeks. Overall I am not very pleased about them. If we compared the team from Leverkusen we have the much better players, potential and and and. If Leverkusen is able to take the lead here I am absolutely sure that Stuttgart is not able for a comeback here. This time Leverkusen overcome Stuttgart.

FSV Mainz 05 - Werder Bremen

Statistic:

- Mainz could  win only one of the last 8 BL games against Bremen (3-0 in April 2014).
- Bremen is waiting since 341 minutes for a goal and they were goalless in their last 3 games.
- Skripnik started his career as Coach one year ago here in Mainz with a 2-1 win.
- 6 of the last 8 penalties were saved from Mainz keeper Karius.
- Bremen lost all the last 5 BL games, this is club negative record for them now.
- With the next lose in Mainz they are facing relegation fight for the next weeks.

It is not obvious that Schmitt send out the same starting lineup as one week ago. They made a good game against Dortmund but with two individual mistakes they gave both goals easy away. If they could play without both faults they should have get something out of this game but of course the win was deserved for Dortmund but Mainz was able to be an even opponent. If they bring all their power on the pitch it can be hard for Bremen to stop them. One of the most important player for Mainz is Malli who is in great form and if he does some strange things as in recent games he can be the different here again.

After 5 defeats Coach Skrinik lost a bit his nerves and gave a strange interview. After some days he calm down and see this a bit different now. All in and around the club stand behind him and if he loses this game again he sit on bench against Dortmund next week again. Manager Eichin gave him a job guarantee and this let him work a bit more relaxed. With what lineup he wants to start is a bit open because he was testing some players on different positions under the week. Vestergaard who normally plays in central back played in central midfield while Lukimya and Galvez played in central back. If he counts on this it may can be that he try to get some more compactness in defensive but he said also that he wants to have some power in offensive. They can not win if they defend all the 90 minutes. But of course they go for some counter attacks where Bartels and Ujah are key in this system with all her quickness. Also some of the free kicks from Junuzovic can be a good choice to score some goals.

It can be a very open game if the first gaol arrive and give us an opener. Mainz was able to beat all the teams behind team in their arena. They were also able to score 2-3 goals against these teams. On the other side Bremen was always able to score away from home, only in Hannover they missed some of their offensive power and maybe counter strength. In Mainz they showed always good games and were able to score in 8 from 9 matches at least 1 goal. Mainz scored also in 8 from 9 against Werder at home. Bremen have a lot to play for after they huge negative streak while Mainz is an offensive minded team .....

Karlsruher SC - 1.FC Kaiserlsautern

This is the match between two traditional teams and also a very brisant South West derby. After the losing one week ago Kaiserslautern must bounce back and win this one if they do not want to lose the contact to the top places above. Although KSC won on monday against 1860 with 1-0 but they showed nothing there and won only due to the big gift from 1860 defender. Therefore both stands under huge pressure if they want to hold contact to the top.

It was very important for Coach Kauczinski to win in Munich but they have to walk on and look forward to the next important game. He hopes that the team has found each other now and they can start a winning streak now. This is absolutely needed to get out of the bad situation. But their play in Munich was awful and only defending style and up front with some counter attacks over fast Hoffer who scored the winning goal. They have to improve a lot if they want to get something out of this game.
There are not many changes expected compared to the last game also due to less alternatives. They had already 3 defenders out on Monday and this time they are out again. With Godron, Gulde and Thoelke they miss some in central back while Mauersberger and Stoll made a good job, this was may to their great experience they have. If both should have problems it would be very difficult to build up a stabil central back. Very motivated should be Hoffer because he plays against his former club and of course want to hurt them anyway.

Lautern's Coach Fünfstück has signed his contract now and he is now official Coach of FCK. They hope for more as against Sandhausen where they were the better side but could not finish one of their big opportunities and lost in the end unlucky 0-1. They want to continue their good style of play but in front of the goal they must be more clinical as lately.
After Fünfstück counts 3 times on the same lineup he has some changes in mind. One change is a must because Zimmer is out injured and must be replaced. Schulze is the first alternative for him and he has made some good matches already for FCK on this position. But he returns shortly after 5 month injury break what means that he has not the form and power right now. More options are Mockenhaupt who move from the centrum to the wing, and also Ziegler can play there who is back from suspension. In central back is Heuback a candidate to play beside Vucur. The offensive should remain maybe unchanged but has to improve a lot.

FSV Frankfurt - VfL Bochum

After only 1 Points out of the last 3 matches FSV Frankfurt is aiming for a win today. But the opponent is not an easy one with VfL Bochum. But Former leader lost 0-1 last Sunday and and they want to turn things around by itself and start winning again. Of course they should be really pleased with the result from last year / season when they won 5-1 in Frankfurt.

FSV Coach Oral was talking from a good performance in their last away game but it was rather luck not to lose this match. Nürnberg had a lot of attempts on goal but wasted a lot while FSV got a lucky penalty in the end which was nothing. Nevertheless the Point is on FSV side and Oral is pleased with it and he said that they were very compact and the fighting spirit was very well from his team. They are doing better from match to match.

One of the positive things is the return of captain Konrad who starts immediately in central midfield while Huber move back to the right back wing where Mangafic could not convince in Nürnberg. In central back plays Ballas again for Oumari who is still suspended but he was a good replacement so far. In offensive they showed nothing against Nürnberg what speaks for some changes. Halimi was really surprised to sit on bench against Nürnberg but after he came in he was one of the active players and should get his place in starting lineup back today. For this reason one of the attackers is out and sits in bench. According to the opponent they looking for some counter attacks and for this is Dedic the better one with his quickness instead of Schahin.

Bochum’s Coach was very disappointed with the defeat to Leipzig and he needs some days to look forward. After this shock he said that they have to walk on and be prepared for the game with FSV. The optimism is back and they can not look back, they have to look forward and if they can play with discipline and passion he believes that they are able to win this encounter.

As always Verbeek is not a friend of changes and he gives the same lineup a chance to begin as at least. Although one changes he has to make because with back wing Perthel they miss one player suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card against Leipzig. For him is Wijnaldum expected on the wing today. Also a lot of players make a lot of pressure to the starters because with Simunek, Weis, Eisfeld, Mlapa and Nando Raffael they have really good players on bench. All these players have a lot of quality and should start in every other team of the league. Eisfeld made some self advertising with 3 goals in test friendly against KFC Uerdingen where the second row won 7-0.

If we compare both teams the advantage should be clear on Bochum’s side. They have the much better players, the better style of play, better team balance and so on. The home side could not convince much and has some luck already this Season if last weekend or against Union at home if we pick out some games. Normally the luck is gone after the last game and if Bochum can bring only an even performance like Heidenheim who could win 4-0 there they are very close to win this one. We trust the team from Verbeek who playing a really good round so far.

Greuther Fürth - 1860 München

After the disappointing start from new Coach Möhlmann with the 0-1 defeat against KSC on Monday they are aiming for the first win. But without their Coach who was ill on Monday already and is in hospital right now. For him sit Kowarz on bench and he has to bear the blame for 1860. The green white team from Fürth has conceded 10 goals in the last 2 matches and this is absolutely too much. They are looking to bring more stability in their play and hope to get back on track against 1860 in this derby. Although 1860 is winless since 11 matches it would be hard to see them winning with such a harmless offensive.

It is not obvious that Coach Ruthenbeck changes his lineup after the 2-5 in Freiburg. He may bring Sukalo in and plays with two central defensive midfield player to get more compactness and allow Gjasula to lay the focus more on the offensive play. Also ready after his tooth problems is offensive player Stiepermann who should be in starting lineup immediately while weak performing Weilandt must on bench then. The last open offensive position can be taken from Zulj or Freis whereat against defensive minded 1860 is Freis not the best choice because he needs some more space for his actions. Additional not available is Schröck who was on bench against Freiburg but after he was substitute he received his fifth yellow card and must pass suspended today. For him plays again Wurtz on the back wing.

Interim Coach Kowarz hopes for a reaction from 1860 after the last defeat and also according to the illness from Coach Möhlmann. They have to work as team, together they can reach something. Together they are stronger and they want to get the first win this Season. He has a good feeling about today’s match despite recent results.

The situation in squad is getting better after injured Rodnei and suspended Degenek returns this time. They are ready to start and help the team if both start youngster Yegenoglu who made the big mistake against KSC and allowed them the winning goal and central midfield player Taffertshofer are out of the starting lineup. But if Rodnei is not 100% fit Degenek plays in central back while Taffertshofer remain in the lineup. Very open are the offense where they have a lot of problems and they are really too harmless. With Mvibudulu should be one of the weak players from KSC game replaced. Instead of him can Vollmann or Claasen take the position on the wing. Also two strikers are possible to get more power in the offensive actions, therefore Mugosa is a real candidate to think.

1860 München - Karlsruher SC

As every week we have the last game in 2.Bundesliga to Round up this Matchday. With 1860 München and Karlsruher SC meet two traditional teams each other which both are in some trouble and in danger actually. The pressure on both teams are very high today because with a lose they may face relegation fight for some weeks and need maybe some time to close the gap to the midfield places. After the last disappointing result for 1860 Munich and a winless run from 10 matches they fired Coach Fröhling. The new one on the sideline is an experienced and well known one with Möhlmann. He knows this league from his last stations very well and he has the knowledge to bring 1860 back on track. They are aiming for the first win this Season and looking forward for better times. The situation in Karlsruhe is not the best anyway with Coach Kauczinski’s statement not to expand his contract at the end of the Season it is sure that they need a new Coach but if the results are not in his favor he will be sucked soon anyway.

After the first days as Coach from 1860 Möhlmann was very pleased about the quality in squad. He said that the team has a very good moral and they are working very well. He gave them some solutions for their play but the players have to deliver now. He mentioned additional that they are very positive about the game with KSC today and they are of course able to win this game.

With what starting lineup he wants to go into his first game is more as open at the moment. Sure is only that Kai Bulöw and Rodnei are not available with injury and illness. In this case he has to search for a new central back who can play beside Schindler there. With youngster Yegenoglu from U23 team he has found maybe a potential candidate. The fight for the place in goal is still open, Eichner and Ortega can hope to start, Möhlmann decides short before kick off. Also in midfield he has to replace one with Degenek’s injury. He can count on an youngster there too or let Adlung play in central midfield who has his potential more in offensive where he likes more to play. But he played this position some times this Season and should be no problem at all. In offensive one place is left what brings Claasen back into the starting lineup. With Liendl, Vollmann and Okotie he should make some noise and create some good opportunities.

It may was not the best time for Kauczinski to make it present that he wants to quiet at the end of the Season. He was asked a lot of questions and therefore he has to answer a lot about this decision. He does not want to talk longer about his future and moreover work successfully with his team. He was pleased with the preparation to the game with 1860. All doing a great job and he is absolutely sure that they get a good result in Munich today.

KSC faces almost the same problems as 1860 at the moment and they have to replace both central backs because Gulde faces muscle problems while Gordon is also not available with injury. In this case Mauersberger and Stoll are prepared to replace them. Also a big doubt stands behind keeper Orlishausen who must pass against Freiburg already. In this game Vollath was in goal and maybe today again if Orlishausen must pass. They can count on Meffert after he was returning from injury but he has a place on on bench because both Peitz and Prömel played good in central midfield and therefore Kauczinski sees no reason to change there. The offensive should remain unchanged and if Manzon is available as substitute is not sure according to his thigh problems.

As you can see both teams have a lot of problems if the actual position or with absent players. Nevertheless we count on the new Coach factor here and believe in Möhlmann to bring 1860 back on track and celebrate the first win this Season. As mentioned, sooner or later wins every team and the time is exactly now where such teams are claiming it. Take a look at MSV two weeks ago or Stuttgart yesterday. All played not so well but fight and have some luck to win at least. The level ball HC is excellent for this an absolutely a must to take in this case.
