TSV 1860 München - FC Ingolstadt 04

After their win last weekend against top team Braunschweig 1860 Munich gets some hope back for 3rd place. But if they want to keep this alive they have to win this one but this is not as easy as Imgolstadt is much better on the road and they collected much more points away from home and on the other side 1860 Munich had a lot of problems in their arena and win only 4 matches so far. Overall this derby is an absolutely interresting one, let’s hope for a good one too.

Of course no one expected the win in Braunschweig, therefore they surprised there but this is not much amazing as they can count on a good defensive and go for counter attacks on the road while at home they have to invest much more and put some pressure on their opponents but they had and have a lot of problems with good defending teams there. If you take a look at the wins at home, all were against bottom teams or teams without form. Regensburg, Duisburg, Sandhausen, Paderborn, these are they, and what it again very interesting, all these matches were won without conceding a goal. In all the other matches they conceded and therefore they were not able to win. After coach Maurer was sucked and Schmidt took over their record was not much better, on the contrary they were weaker. Coach Schmidt only talk and talk but he has not shown so far that he can give his team stability and with a lot of changes in the past it is not possible anyway. He let players play on positions they never played before and so on.  One of their best defender Agyun was demoted to second team from Schmidt, and one of their important wing with Halfar is injured. He was replaced by Tomasov but he had a bad day and it is possible that Wood can replace him today. Last but not least lies all hopes on both strikers Friend and Lauth who scored already against Braunschweig.

Their opponent Ingolstadt has the same problems as 1860 and therefore they are very happy to play on the road as they are much better there. They played very good last away match against Union and got deserved a draw maybe it should have been more as Micanski missed a penalty in the last seconds. It was only of his arrogance not to score this goal. Dresden were average and they conceded a late goal but it was deserved as well as they stopped playing in second half. Also here very interresting stats because if they could score, they are always able to get anything. I am very sure that they are able to do this as they have some very good and fast players in their rows and they can hurt 1860 Munich, additional they got some space as 1860 has to come. Therefore Ingolstadt can count on their normal style of play on the road and they are very good there as they played some excellent matches. Coach Oral mentioned that they are very focused for this derby and he is very happy to get some options back as with Eigler and Korkmaz returns two offensive players from injury and they are 100% fit now. Above all Eigler can move immediately in starting lineup while Hartmann is the first man to move out. Also Caiuby is an option. Overall many options for Oral.

I like the matchup here and I like Ingolstadt with their style of play above all on the road and the goals should also be into consideration. Of course, both are not scoring specialist but I think if we can get an early goal this match can be stretched wide.
