We have an absolutely top match ahead this day. The first Cup semi final takes place in Munich, where Bayern hosts Dortmund. This will be a big fight between the two big rivals from recent years. The stadium is sold out and the advantage should be on the side from Munich but you never know what Coach Klopp plans for this game, also Guardiola is always good for some surprises if lineup or system. But overall this will be a very tactical match anyway.
The old and new BL champion welcomes back some important players like Robben, Benatia and Rafinha, also rested Bernat and Alonso is ready for this encounter. This means that Coach Guardiola has more to choose from and he can think what lineup is the best to field. The defensive lineup can be build with Boateng and Dante (Benatia replacement) while on the wings returns Rafinha after slight injury and on the other side Bernat who was rested against Hertha. The biggest problem for Guardiola is, how to involve Schweinsteiger again. He played against Hertha but only because of Alonso’s rest. If he count on the successful midfield trio from the Porto game Schweinsteiger sit on bench again. This is not the way he likes but after his injury he has problems to find back into the team. With Lahm, Alonso and Thiago are three players with huge potential and which one should Guardiola sit on bench from these? Maybe he changes between Alonso and Schweinsteiger but nothing more. In offensive he has Robben back but he returns shortly and should be on bench first as the upcoming weeks are very important too above all the game in one week against Barcelona. The other offensive positons remain the same with Götze, Müller and Lewandowski.
After a horror first half of the season Dortmund is rolling again. They are close to climb up to a international spot. They are only 3 Points behind the other teams with 4 matches to go. Also the Cup final or win is their only chance to get something in hand for this season therefore this game is very important for them. The team is doing better and better also without Reus but he is back after injury and is their hope here anyway. In midfield they have some problems because with Kehl (working for his comeback and try to be in the squad today) and Gündogan (illness) they missed two important guys in recent games. The duo Bender and Ginter did a good job but if this enough without a creative one central against Munich is doubtful. Defensive row is also bit short of options and Coach Klopp said that he hopes that Piczsek must not play from beginning on after his long injury time. They want to bring him back slowly. The preferred tactic from last games was 4-1-3-1 but he played also 4-3-3 against Munich. It is all possible above all in the match of the year for Dortmund.
