MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Cologne were involved in a dramatic 3-2 loss against in-form Paderborn at Benteler Arena last week. Despite being two goals up thanks to strikes from Jhon Cordoba and Anthony Modeste, the team found themselves on the losing end, conceding three goals in the final ten minutes. That defeat came as a real shock in Cologne’s race for promotion and the team have now won only one of their last four league fixtures, losing the other three.

Relegation candidates Sandhausen have been abysmal away from home this season, losing seven of their 11 league matches on the road (one win, three draws), which is the joint worst record in the German second division. Four of those defeats have in fact arrived in their last five away league matches, with the team securing only one point during that time. Sandhausen have taken just one point from their last two league fixtures, too, clinching a disappointing 1-1 draw against Darmstadt last weekend after losing 2-0 to Union Berlin away.

Giants Cologne should be too strong for the struggling visitors. Have a punt on the hosts to take the points from this one.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE - COLOGNE
Cologne have scored first in each of their last four league wins at Rhein Energie Stadium. Have a punt on the home team to open the scoring in this one.

HEAD TO HEAD
The last league encounter - and their only league meeting in the last five years - was a 2-0 win for Cologne back in September.
