MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Braunschweig have had an indifferent season so far and have spent most of their campaign in the bottom half of the table. Over the last eight league games, the team have won two, drawn two and lost four. Braunschweig fell to their seventh defeat of the campaign last Saturday when losing 2-1 to Greuther Furth at Sportpark Ronhof. The result has put coach Torsten Lieberknecht under serious pressure as they are only two points away from the drop zone.

Regensburg have been like a machine in recent month, winning eight, drawing three and losing only two of their previous 13 2. Bundesliga matches. Last Friday, goals from Marco Gruttner, Jonas Nietfeld, Marvin Knoll and Sargis Adamyan gave them a 4-3 win over fellow high-flyers Dusseldorf despite falling 3-0 behind within the first 15 minutes of the game. The team are one point behind the promotion playoff place.

Braunschweig have lost three of their last five at Eintracht Stadium but managed a win against promotion contenders Union Berlin in their last home match. Regensburg are flying high once again but have had a lot of problems on the road recently, with only one win in their last eight. I’m therefore backing Braunschweig to prevail on Sunday.

SECOND PREDICTION: ODD/EVEN – ODD

All of the last three 2. Bundesliga encounters between these teams have been won by one goal. Back odd goals to be scored in Braunschweig’s favour at Eintracht Stadium this weekend.

HEAD TO HEAD

Braunschweig lost their last encounter against Regensburg 2-1 away. Overall, they have picked up three wins and only one defeat in front of their own fans against these opponents in all competitions.
