Union Berlin - Greuther Fürth

Greuther Furth to grab all three points at Alte Forsterei

Union Berlin will once again be without the long-term injured Marc Torrejon and Felix Kroos. Grischa Promel was sent off against Jahn Regensburg last weekend and is suspended.

Greuther Furth's Yosuke Ideguchi, Daniel Steininger and Nik Omladic won't feature because of injury while Shawn Parker has tooth problems.

MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

Union Berlin are still unbeaten in the league after drawing 1-1 away at Jahn Regensburg last time out, having won four and drawn eight. However, all of their last four league outings have been draws, with the teams netting just twice in the process and opening the scoring on only one occasion. Sebastian Polter scored for Union last time out, but the visitors conceded shortly after and were lucky to leave with one point, especially given the fact that they were one man down for the final 13 minutes.

After holding Bochum to a 2-2 draw at home last weekend, Greuther Furth have lost only one of their last six league fixtures (two wins, three draws). Based on their current form, they are undoubtedly amongst the favourites for a top three finish. The Shamrock have secured exactly half of their 20 points on their travels this season, thanks to three wins, one draw and two defeats. In fact, only three other sides have been stronger on the road so far, and their away form will be particularly important when it comes to staying in contact with Hamburg and St. Pauli at the top of the standings.

Union Berlin may still be unbeaten, but they have scored only two goals in their last four league matches. I think Greuther Furth have the weapons to overcome Union Berlin this time.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – LOW

Union Berlin’s last four league matches have featured only four goals combined, with the team keeping a clean sheet twice. In fact, 75% of the side's 12 league matches have resulted in only two total goals or fewer while the same can be said about 58% of Greuther Furth's. Take a punt on two of fewer total goals to be scored in Berlin.

HEAD TO HEAD

Last season, both league encounters were won by the respective home team. However, Union Berlin have a negative record at Alte Forsterei against Greuther Furth, with only two wins, three draws and six defeats in their last 11 home league encounters.
