MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN
Leaders Cologne are the in-form team in Germany’s second tier at the minute, with four straight wins as the team dispatched Sandhausen 3-1, Aue 1-0, Ingolstadt 2-1 and Bielefeld 5-1. Their phenomenal run has seen them at the top of the league standings, one point ahead of second-placed Hamburg and with one league game in hand.

After their stunning 5-1 league win over Aue at Holstein Stadium last time out, Holstein Kiel will be looking for a similar outcome against Cologne this weekend. However, despite that impressive result, Tim Walter’s boys are only on average form, winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five games in the league. The Storks are back in the promotion race as they are only five points adrift of third-placed Union Berlin.

With Markus Anfang’s Cologne in such fine fettle, they will fancy their chances of securing a fifth league win in a row this weekend. My money is going on a comfortable home victory at Rhein Energie Stadium.

SECOND PREDICTION: HILO - HIGH
Cologne have found the net 64 times in the league this term while Holstein Kiel have netted 51 goals in their 26 league matches. I can see plenty of total goals in this one here.

HEAD TO HEAD
There has only been one league meeting between the pair in the second tier. Back in October the match finished 1-1 at Holstein Stadium.
