Karlsruher SC - 1.FC Kaiserslautern

Statistic:

- Both teams played each other 42 times in BL but only 5 times in 2.BL.
- From the last 15 matches against FCK won KSC only one but from these 15 ended 10 draw.
- KSC won only 1 from the last 5 matches and they are on the way down now.
- FCK did not lose a match in which they took the lead, this was 10 times the case.
- Lautern is not constant enough for the first places, above all on the road 3 wins, 3 loses at least.
- KSC is very strong at home, they are the team who has the lowest number of defeats.

An important match ahead for both, but a draw is to less if they want to hold the target alive to get involved in promotion race. Therefore KSC as newcomer this season can sit back and let Lautern come and go then for counter attacks. This can hurt FCK a lot as they are not the team who can overcome a defensive minded team, at least in the past matches it was the case. They have no ideas and they play much to slow to get the defensive line running from their opponents. And only high and long balls are not the best although they have very tall strikers in the middle but all these guys are more or less out of form at the moment.

The stadium is sold out and Coach Kauczinski want to look forward for this derby and he wants to give the fans some back. He said that Lautern has the much better squad and the much better players. Maybe he wants to give FCK much more pressure for this encounter and take this away from his team. Nevertheless they are safe and they can play relaxed and they have nothing to lose anyway anymore in this season what is a big plus for them today too.

This is a must win for FCK, but can they? They looked very weak under the week and in this derby I doubt that KSC gives some present for this FCK team. But it if the do not win again the gap is getting bigger and bigger to the team above. Coach Runjaic said it already that they must win and the pressure is absolutely high. At the moment I doubt that the team has the stability to do this. Some changes are expected as with Idrissou is the man back from suspension but Gaus got injured under the week and is out therefore Jenssen can take this position.

Lautern must open if they want to win and the space for KSC is there to overcome them. GL
