It is not the best what Hamburg showed in the past, but they are a bit better at home as on the road, therefore the huge defeat in Leverkusen is not the biggest problem in my eyes. Of course they have a lot of problems in team and also around the club but this must be take away above all they fight for their future at the moment. If this is not in their heads already it is hard to help this Hamburg side. This trainings week Coach Knäbel tried a lot and he wants to play much more offensive but compact. It looks like that they want to hurt Wolfsburg with some good counter attacks but they have to field a bit more offensive minded lineup as in the past. Above all in attack they are more as harmless but with 57.000 fans in their back it can be that they can bring a good home game on the pitch. They showed this sometimes like against Dortmund, Leverkusen and some others.
The current best team comes from Wolfsburg and they are doing very well but it is not all well. Above all the attackers are far away again. Dost had a good run but failed several times lately. Also his replacement Bendtner is not at his best moment otherwise he would be starter. It is all about de Byrne and if this guy has a weak day it can be that Wolfsburg comes in trouble. Schürrle is also far from his best. This means that they have to improve a lot in attack. The Cup game in their legs where they need a penalty to advance but they did the job. The upcoming weeks are not as easy as the last. With EL ahead it is about Coach Hecking how important he takes this game. Maybe some rotation is possible. Big miss will be central midfield player Gustavo who is one of the fighter and help all the creative players.
After Paderborn's win Hamburg is under huge pressure now. They must look to take Points here if they do not want to get more and more in trouble. Nevertheless this can be a very close game with hard fight from both sides and if Hamburg plays really aggressiv I am not sure if the creative players from Wolfsburg like this. Maybe they must to pocket some hard fouls in my eyes. I am not surprised if this one is a rough one.
