SV Sandhausen - SV Darmstadt 98

Sandhausen has 20 Points on their side and they are looking forward to remain in 2.BL and go into their 4th year there. For this they have to collect some more Points above all before the break that the pressure is getting not to big if the season starts again in February. According to table situation they are only 5 Points ahead of the red zone and this is not much at the moment, a bad run can turn things around immediately. Their opponent is one of the surprise teams this season beside Ingolstadt. After Darmstadt got promoted in two incredible games against Bielefeld they are doing a great job there. The team is close to the top with 29 Points and can with a win climb up to second place what is amazing. After a long run without a win away from home they got the first one last weekend against bottom team St. Pauli. Of course they want to continue and go for the next one after 6 draws and only 1 defeat on the road.

After 3 successful games with 5 Points Sandhausen’s Coach Schwartz plans not many changes if system or personal. Only on the left back wing he has to change as with Paqaranda is a player unavailable suspended. This means that he has to search for the right replacement as with Achenbach is the next player injured not ready. The candidates are Kister, Knoll and Pfertzel for this position but the experience speaks clear for Pfertzel here. Some more options are in the squad as with Jovanovic returns a striker after long injury time but he is on bench first also Adler is on bench but a great option for the game in running.

It would be not a big surprise if Coach Schuster trusts his successful eleven from Hamburg who managed the first away win. For the injured Kempe who is out for the rest of the year played Ivana there on the wing and he made his job well. For him can play also youngster Biada and Sirigu but it is not need and in this case Schuster wants to change as less as he can and allow his well balanced team a good feeling as all know what to do.

I expect a close match here, both teams are hard to play. Sandhausen lost only 1 of the last 7 and at home they are much stronger as on the road. Of course Darmstadt is high flying but on the road they won only 1 from 8, this was last weekend when they beat St. Pauli 1-0 but they showed nothing special in this game and it was only due to a big fault from Pauli’s defender Sobiech who allowed them the winning goal. On the other side they are hard to beat with only 1 defeat on the road but they never were favorite on the road and against a hard fighting Sandhausen I doubt that they should be favorite here. For this reason I have to take the home side ……

Hannover 96 - FC Augsburg

We can expect a big match here. Hannover had some problems with their defensive where they had a lot to do and they conceded a lot of goals as written below. They have to improve in this part of the team and Coach Korkut has to work on it anyway. In offensive they are not so bad and they are scoring like hell, Hoffenheim 3, Wolfsburg 1, Bremen 3 .... these are all not bad numbers. The offensive is still working. The only think they have to work is that they must be more compact as in some of these matches. They are known for their home strength above all in recent years where they were very hard to beat in their home stadium, this season they have already three defeats but it was against Wolfsburg, Leverkusen and Gladbach who are all above Hannover and they have much more class as they at the moment. This match is a different one and they can get back on track at home after two defeats in a row. No fresh injuries, therefore they can count on the same like last weekend.

Wow wow wow, what a run from Augsburg, they were unbeaten in 5 home games which they won all in a row and they won also the last two road games with a bit of luck. Nevertheless they have the Points on their side and they can look forward to get as most as they can because they talk only to avoid relegation, if they have reached this goal, they can look for new aims this season but at the moment they want only reach the 40 Points as far as they can. The fighting spirit is big and they team is working well but can they continue in the last days of the year. They had a good first half against Bayern but in second half after the first goal Bayern was one or two step to high for them. Coach Weinzierl is an excellent coach and he put up some good systems and the players follow him blind. This is all very good but after the luck in Stuttgart where a man was send off and also a penalty for them to win the match who was doubtful, also in Cologne they had a really bad first half but won in the end after a reflected shot. Of course you have to work hard to bring luck on your side but it was there huge .......

Statistic:

- Augsburg is on the way to a new record but they need 4 Points from the last 2 games.
- The best number was 28 Points where they avoid relegation and overcome Düsseldorf 13/14.
- Augsburg won never against Hannover so far, they are 0-3-3.

Although Augsburg is a taff opponent I am sure that Hannover 96 lose again at home. They are losing 2 in a row and Augsburg won two i a row .... Augsburg invest a lot and the power should be not there again for a big fight. If H96 can control Baier in midfield who is important for Augsburg's play and also the wing Werner they have good chances to win this one. I like Hannover DNB here and I am sure that they do not lose this one again at home.

Bayern München - SC Freiburg

After the weekend is clear that Bayern Munich is the half time Champion in "Bundesliga". They are walking through the league and no one can stop them. Before the season many have talked that they are not so strong because after the World Cup most of their players are tired and need some time if they are back to normal level. They expect a lot of problems until the winter break, but where are the problems? They are not there, they win and win and win and also the defensive line is absolutely unbeatable. They conceded only 3 in 15 matches now. Hard to believe but this strength from Bayern is incredible this season. They are maybe stronger as last year and all what Guardiola do or did is going into success. It is not out if he wants to play again with he strongest available lineup or rotate a bit for this encounter but they are not weaker anyway. In the last games Rode made a really good performance and is an absolutely alternative for Guardiola now. Also Schweinsteiger is back after long injury. Of course, they have a few out with Lahm, Thiago, Alaba, Martinez, Pizarro ..... but if they are back .......

In Freiburg they are always fighting against relegation, of course some seasons they are doing very well but for this all must be build up well and all the signed players must play a good role in their system. This time Coach Streich said that after they lose some players in summer that they play against relegation and he was right. They have a lot of problems above all the offensive is harmless and they need to many attempts for a goal or in defensive they make to many easy mistakes what lead to goals. The structure is good there but they are only a hard working small club who has to fight more as other clubs and the budget is low anyway. In Munich they did not get much in recent years and it looks like that they come here and play the 90. minutes and drive home then. Ok, Coach Streich said that he wants to hurt Bayern but at the moment it is impossible ........

- Robben has 117 BL matches for Bayern and he scored 64 goals and made 34 assists, 2 left for 100.
- Since 1996 3-1 is Freiburg winless in 24 games against Bayern München (0-5-19).
- But the record has Gladbach, when they need 26 matches to beat Leverkusen.

- Freiburg could only score 15 goals in 15 matches and this is one of the weakest number in BL.

Eintracht Braunschweig - Fortuna Düsseldorf

The second half of the season starts today with the top match in 2.BL between two promotion candidates Braunschweig and Düsseldorf. After 17 Rounds are played both teams has not disappointed the experts and they are close to the top and with a good second half of the season they can still climb up and dream to get promoted. To begin it was hard for Braunschweig and they lost a lot of ground to the top but with a winning streak from 5 matches with 5 wins they were on 2nd place but fall down after they got only 1 Point from the last two. They are now 2 Points behind 3rd place and this is nothing in this close league and should not be a problem at all but they have to come back on track now. On the other side was Düsseldorf very close to the leader Ingolstadt but they has a three match run where they collected only 1 Point and this put them out of the top 3. After this they start winning again at the weekend in Frankfurt with a 2-0. They have one Point more on their side as Braunschweig but they are close to the top 3 anyway.

Braunschweig's Coach searched long time for the right lineup and balance, he has found it in recent matches but he changed in last game against Union in central midfield where Pfitzner played instead of Theuerkauf. It is more as possible that he change back to normal lineup and let all the same as to the winning times. Also in offensive no changes expected but Nielsen had a few weak matches recently and the alternatives are there with Kruppke, Bakenga or Hochscheidt who is back after a long injury time. If they can bring their home strength on the pitch today it is hard to beat them but Düsseldorf is one of the best away team and this makes it so dangerous.

After the win against FSV Coach Reck plans no important changes before this encounter today. This means that he trusts the starting lineup from weekend again. Before the game against FSV he made some changes and move Liendl from the wing into the middle where he played much better as in the past and it was maybe a key fact. Also a good sign was that Pohjanpalo was out for the match in Frankfurt what let Benschop move forward in central attack where he had a good performance. But the most important fact was the return from central midfield player Pinto who gave Fortuna more structure and he was the man in midfield for the speed and passing in their game.

Bayer Leverkusen - Bor. M'Gladbach

Both teams had matches under the week and for this they can maybe rotate a bit as they have the next match ahead in two or three days. Both coaches are trying to find the best way to go through the last 3 matches in one week. They have to safe power as it is hard in the last week before the winter break. A lot can be decided in these days therefore they have to go for the win both anyway. The offensive rows from both let us expect a big entertaining game and hopefully with a lot of goals too.



Statistic:

- Bost teams have made the most games in 2014/15 Season ... 25.
- Against no other opponent scored Bayer so many goals in BL (120).
- Leverkusen won 18 times at home against BMG, only to Lautern and Schalke also so much.
- In all the first 9 games on the road were Gladbach unbeaten this season (6-3-0).
- But in the last 3 games on the road they are winless (0-1-2).
- Bayer is one of the 4 teams in BL who is unbeaten (4-3-0).
- The last home defeat from Bayer was to Hoffenheim 2-3 at 23.March.
- If the run continues Gladbach lose without scoring a single goal.
- Gladbach lost the last two road games with 0-1 in Dortmund and Wolfsburg.
- They scored only in 2 of the 6 road games what is a big disaster according to their offense.
- But BMG conceded only 3 goals in these matches, what is also a good and positive number.
- Both teams did not get a penalty rewarded.
- Leverkusen lead at half time only on 24.September to Augsburg when they won 1-0.

FC Augsburg - Bayern München

Augsburg is high flying at the moment and they are doing a really great job. They talk only to get as much Points as they can to avoid relegation. They are on a good way nevertheless but sooner or later their run stop I am sure. In recent two games they have come from behind and they were lucky to win in Cologne after a reflected shot from Esswein. This time the opponent is bigger as the last two like Hamburg and Cologne which both have problems. Despite the big class difference Coach Weinzierl is offensive and talked that this was not lucky to win against Bayern last year, they want to do it again and hurt Bayern. Of course it is possible but last time Bayern played in Augsburg with a mixed team and a lot of youngsters.

Bayern is rolling if League or Champions League, they are doing their job and they are going from record to record. For this encounter Coach Guardiola has a lot more option because Schweinsteiger is back and after Rode made two good games he is an option for the starting lineup anyway. It can be that some players get a rest and so Höjberg plays. Also Schweinsteiger for Alonso can be but I doubt that Schweinsteiger go two games so short after his long injury over the full distance. More speaks for the same lineup as against Leverkusen. If they take this game serious they win this one. They are coming more focused to Augsburg as last time and this is a key fact here anyway.

Statistic:

- Bayern lost only 1 of the last 42 road games (34-7-1). This was last season to Augsburg 0-1.
- Augsburg plays the best BL season in their history (24 Points).
- They are for the first time on Place 3 in their BL-history as well.
- Augsburg won the last 4 games in BL and also the last 5 BL home games.

- The second half table leads Bayern and Augsburg with 31 Points.
- In the last 30 Minutes Augsburg and Bayern is hard to beat, both conceded only a single goal so far.
- Augsburg 53,0% and Bayern 52,8% are the best teams man against man.
- Bayern conceded only single goal in the last 12 BL matches. None in the last 5 road games.
- Two games in a row with only 1 goal is seldom, therefore Bayer score at least 2 !!!

Hertha BSC Berlin - Borussia Dortmund

Interesting game ahead above all if you take a look at the results from both teams in the past. Hertha did not well at home and Dortmund is a big disaster away from home so far. Ok, Hertha has not the class from Dortmund but before the season they talked that they have a lot of potential above all with the new signings they want to play in midfield of the table or maybe come closer to the top but nothing like this happen. They are far away from a good season and therefore they have to look forward for better times. Coach Luhukay has to find the right mix now otherwise they come more and more in trouble and this is not what they want.

On the other side Coach Klopp said that they have to fight to get out of the bad situation but if players like Micky can not improve it is hard. Also some missing players like Reus hurt Dortmund in their offensive play. They play good but in the end if they conceded a goal it is all gone from them and they fall back to old times. The team has not the balance and the self confidence right now to overcome their opponents. It is a long way and maybe the right time for their first away win here as with Hertha they have the right opponent with a lot of problems too.


Statistic:

- In the last 4 duels between these two teams won always the away team.
- In May won Dortmund 4-0 here.
- In September 2007 Hertha won a home game against BvB (3-2).
- Since then, Dortmund won 3 times and 1 draw, nothing for Hertha and only 1 goal in 4 games.
- Hertha lost 4 of their last 5 BL games and looked very weak recently.
- They are even with Dortmund and both are only 1 Point ahead of the relegation zone.
- Both last BL games were lost to nil for Hertha (0-1 to Bayern and 0-2 to Hannover).
- They are waiting since 185 minutes for a home goal.
- Dortmund got from their last 6 BL road games only 1 Point, they are one of the worse team away.
- Never they have to wait so long for a win under Coach Klopp as now.
- Hertha has already 8 defeats after 14 Rounds, they were only weaker 90/91, in the end relegated.
- Dortmund is not able to score much, only in Paderborn they scored twice, the other 8 one or nothing.
- In second half conceded Hertha already 17 goals and Dortmund has only 6-15 goals. Both weak.

Eintracht Braunschweig - Union Berlin

After a six match winning streak Eintracht Braunschweig lost last weekend to Karlsruhe 0-1 but they want to hold the pressure on the other teams high and therefore they have to return on winning way today. The task is not as easy as they mean because with Union they face a team who has an uptrend in the last matches and they came to Braunschweig with two wins in a row in their bag. For Union it is important to walk on and get as much Points as they can to hold the distance big to the red zone.

Compared to the last match in Karlsruhe, Coach Lieberknecht plans no changes although some of his offensive players did not convince much. There is a lot to improve above all the attacker duo Nielsen and Ryu missed all in the last game and therefore they were not able to score in this encounter. Nevertheless Nielsen is set to play anyway while Ryu has good performances in the past and he got the trust from Coach now. This means both Kruppke and Bakenga sit on bench again but they hope for some minutes and maybe for some good actions if they are on the pitch to help the team and make some noise. Good news for Lieberknecht as well is that Hochscheidt returns first time after his injury on Round 1 into the squad and gives him some options more. Of course he is not really ready but he is there again.

Union is doing well in the past matches but they have to change here because with Leistner they have one player suspended and his position in central back plays Schönheim today. He know this very well, was he the guy who played there for long time after Leistner overcomes him. The other things are all speaking for the same lineup as last weekend although the coach talk in an interview about 3 attackers what is a bit to much maybe. This means that Brandy comes into the starting lineup after his illness and suspension and let Quiring move on the wing. But it speaks more that he is on bench first as with Polter and Skryzbski they have two inform strikers at the moment and they are hard to replace if you take last performances.

1899 Hoffenheim - Hannover 96

1899 Hoffenheim is on a huge downtrend, in the last games they got not much and they fall back to old times from last season. They did really well to begin of the season and the defensive line was on a good level and allowed not much, in recent matches they are far away from this form. They conceded like hell and this was not what Coach Gisdol expect. They have to improve a lot now and also bring their offensive rolling after a big disaster in Dortmund where they has not a single change. It is up to Gisdol now to find the right mix and system against an opponent who comes to Hoffenheim with 3 wins in the bag.

Eintracht Frankfurt comes form 3 wins in a row and also with a lot of self confidence to Hoffenheim. The offensive line has a lot like Seferovic and Meier who did a good job but also Aigner and Inui and Stendera. Maybe Coach Schaaf has find his eleven and he counts again on them. Defensive is a big shaky but offensive is rolling and this was the key in recent games. If they can hold this level alive it is not obvious that they get here some.

Statistic:

- These teams meet each other 10 times and Hoffenheim won 5 - 3 - 2.
- Eintracht won all the last 3 games and has +7 goals, they are the second best team in this period.
- 1899 lost 4 of the last 5 BL games and conceded in these incredible 15 goals (average from 3).
- With 27 goals scored has Frankfurt the third best offensive in BL.
- But they conceded already 26 and this is also one of the weakest number in BL at the moment.
- 1899 lost only 1 of the last 11 BL home matches (7-3-1).
- The only defeat was at Round 11 against Cologne with 3-4.


The home side can count on all their players, none of them is out and this gives Coach Gisdol a lot of options. Possible is to play with two attackers here but also some other options are possible as I said already. Sure is maybe that Szalai move into the starting lineup again.
The situation is not so good for Frankfurt as they have to replace already the first keeper Trapp but this time his replacement Wiedwald is out too what brings Hildebrand back into the goal of a BL team. Of course he has a lot of experience but he has no praxis in the past and this can be a big disadvantage maybe. The rest will be unchanged but they have not much alternatives left as they have a lot of players injured out already.

Greuther Fürth - RB Leipzig

Both teams were named from the experts for promotion candidates but they had hard weeks recently. They did not well and the results were against both so they have to find back on track now if they do not want to be out of the race for promotion. Fürth on Place 9 has 3 Points less than Leipzig and stand under huge pressure today. They must win if they do not want to fall behind more and the gap gets open more. The much better situation has Leipzig although they did not win much in the past too, but with a win today they can climb up to third place and they are back in the race.

The chance is there for Fürth but their Coach Kramer does not mentioned in what tactic and system he wants to begin today. He maybe prefer a more defensive minded style as he did already in both last games where they played 0-0 to Heidenheim and Darmstadt. It was much better as in the matches before where he put up a offensive style but they failed huge. They played 4-4-2 in Darmstadt but it is also possible to move to 4-2-3-1. If he think to take the last mentioned system one of the attackers Zulj or Przybylko must on bench while Stiepermann comes in as central offensive player behind the alone striker. Also the more agile Weilandt gets a chance and replace Wurtz on the offensive wing again.

The problems in Leipzig are there above all in the offensive where Coach Zorninger has to improve as with Frahn suspended after his 5th yellow card against Ingolstadt and Boyd got injured are not available. Also the best offensive player Poulsen is doubtful with some muscle problems. This means that they are very short in attack today. It speaks a lot that Rebic gives his starting debut today and plays beside Moyrs in attack while Kaiser can play the offensive part in midfield. He was needed in defensive midfield in the past but move forward today maybe. The defensive part can be played from Fandrich or Hierländer while Kimmich is no option at the moment as he is not ready yet. Also the last ill Teigl is back in squad and he can play the back wing position but is also an option as attacker.

1.FC Nürnberg - 1860 München

Two traditional clubs meet each other this Monday evening. The situation is for both worse and they are aiming for better times. The expected goal was to play for promotion this season but they are far away from that and it is almost that they are involved in relegation battle if they continue like recent matches. The winning can climb up a bit and leave the danger zone a bit while the loser has a lot of trouble in the last weeks of the year.

New Coach from Nürnberg Weiler had a good start with the 2-1 win over leader Ingolstadt but last Monday his team lost to Braunschweig 0-1 and it was almost the same situation as under former Coach Ismael. They are far to harmless in front of the goal but the defensive line is more compact and solid under new Coach Weiler now. The central back should be build again from duo Hovland and Mössmer while Bulthuis plays on the wing and replace suspended veteran Pinola the last time maybe. In midfield he was thinking to change a bit after the last match where the power was missed by Koch and the form speaks also against him, so he maybe will replaced by Petrak who can come into the starting lineup and plays in central midfield alone to have one more player for the offensive. This means that captain Polak moves forward to the wing with the hope that the offensive getting more power in a new 4-1-4-1 system. It is needed if you have seen the last match from Nürnberg as already mentioned above.

The biggest hope for 1860 was that they get their best striker Okotie ready for this encounter but he must pass now. This is a big blow for the team from Munich and they have to build up a new offensive additional to their normal problems now. He scored 10 of the 19 goals and his number said all how important this player is for 1860. Nevertheless he is not available and they have to do their best to get here some. Coach van Ahlen has a hard task as to the last game youngster Wolf could not convince as replacement for Okotie. He was more as harmless and is maybe not the right man at this time. Maybe the right system is 4-3-3 with 3 midfield players up front where all can move in the middle to give the lone striker today. This means that Rama, Adlung and Wolf are required. Other changes compared to the match against FSV are not possible as the alternatives are less. 

Hannover 96 - VfL Wolfsburg

A big derby stands on the plan today with Hannover 96 and VfL Wolfsburg. Of course it is a big difference in budget but on the pitch we will see which team can take the Points here. Hannover was a big in a downtrend after the national break but this time they can get some back from their fans, the only thing they must do is to win. Very easy or? Although they lost 3-4 in Hoffenheim it was not so bad overall, they conceded a few bad goals but if they can defend this situations better it is an advantage and they can go into the game with a lot of expectations. A big plus was additional that Joselu scored after a long period without any goal from him and this gives him a lot of self confidence back, also the return from Stindl into the starting lineup was a boost for the team last weekend. Overall not many changes expected, as there are no reasons for Coach Korkut.

The team who is close to Bayern Munich this season is Wolfsburg and they did a good job but can they hold this over so a long period of the season. I am not sure, if they get some injured players or if Bryne has not his best day, or veteran Olic work not like he did and run like a youngster it is hard to win. Also a big thing is that their defenders scored a lot of important goals like last sunday. The matches from Wolfsburg are close and on this high level it is not always to their side, matches will come where the opponent has some percent more and this decides. Coach Hecking is not a friend from big rotations or changes and he put up almost all the same lineup above all his key players as mentioned above play always. Sooner of later they can be tired and this can be a disadvantage.

- Hannover won the last 5 Derbys against VfL.
- Against no other team has H96 so a good run or streak.
- Before the break H96 has 3 wins without conceding a single goal, after the break .....
- ..... they lost 2 of 2 and conceded 7 goals.
- Wolfsburg has collected 26 Points already, they had only more 04/05 at this time.
- Hannover lost 2 of the last 3 home games what is not typical for them as solid home team.
- Before this run, they could celebrate 3 wins in a row.
- Wolfsburg defender are very dangerous because they scored already 8 goals this season.
- VfL lost the last 4 games in Hannover and they scored only a single goal.
- Hannover conceded only in 3 from the 13 games a goal in first half.
- Wolfsburg won 7 of the last 8 matches and is high flying at the moment.
- If Wolfsburg take the lead they are hard to beat but if they conceding the first goal it is the opposite.
- VfL is very dangerous through the opening 15 minutes where they scored a lot so far.

In this derby all can happen but I think Wolfsburg has a lot of luck in the last games too. This is more a bet against Wolfsburg as they can not walk through the league like Bayern Munich. Hannover is a hard opponent who invest a lot I am sure today. At home Hannover is one of the best teams from recent years, only Bayern Munich has a better record and this said all. I go for the underdog this time.

1.FC Köln - FC Augsburg

To the start of the season Cologne played very compact and they were hard to beat, this was key as they won the matches with 1-0. In recent matches they lost some of this and the success was not the same as to begin. If they want to return on the better side they have to improve again and it is also up to Coach Stöger to find the right balance in team between defensive and offensive. For today he must replace his central midfield player Lehmann who is out suspended. This means maybe some changes to compensate Lehmann. If we take a look back to the last game from Cologne in Leverkusen where they started great, took the lead and was close to the second goal but the referee did not give the penalty and the red card for Leno. This was key as with the first goal from Leverkusen Cologne disappeared and lost in the end 1-5. Maybe some bad luck for them there, also one game before where striker Ujah reflected a shot from Ndjeng in the own goal. Sooner or later the luck comes back to Cologne.

High flying Augsburg is coming to Cologne but expect a very hard game. It is not like the other weeks where they travelled to Schalke where they was underdog and played a great match but with bad luck they lost there 0-1, one week later they were in Stuttgart and has a big advantage because the referee sent off a player from Stuttgart early and also count a penalty for Augsburg who was doubtful. This time they had the luck on their side and they won 1-0. This is all so close at this high level and it is up to a few decisions where the match goes. The team from Augsburg is a hard working one and all of them invest all for the team nothing else. Anyway they are a bad traveller and after 3 wins in a row what is much for them. No changes expected compared to the last home game to Hamburg.

- Augsburg won 3 times in a row, what is record for them.

This encounter is of course a close one, Cologne at home not on their best level while Augsburg on the road has a lot of problems too. Both scored not much, what means that it can be a low scoring game where both teams try to avoid an danger situations and risk not much. If one team can take the lead it is not far away that this team win. I am going for Cologne here as Augsburg has won 3 in a row and they have a good team with good players and good moral now but it is a big different if you play Schalke or Stuttgart not the road where both teams try to play forward while Cologne comes into the game with safety fist and is more defensive minded. Augsburg as 4. has to make the game and this is not what they are expecting and want to do. They are not able to do this, they are more a team who comes over counter. In this case the line and the odd is well for me to put some up.

1.FC Kaiserslautern - Erzgebirge Aue

After 5 draws in a row Kaiserslautern could celebrate a win last weekend and it was also their first win on the road this season. Of course they want continue the way at home to hold the pressure to the teams above them high. At home they are always a hard team to play and they are unbeaten in their stadium, this is also due to their great support there and hot atmosphere. The opponent comes from Aue and they have a lot problems anyway. They are coming to Kaiserslautern with 3 defeats in a row and they were not able to get anything in 4 attempts here.

After the first win on the road there are no reason why Coach Runjaic should change his successful starting lineup from last weekend. Against St. Pauli he made some curious decisions in his lineup and put some player on positions they normally not playing. It was Zimmer who played on the right wing in midfield while offensive minded Demirbay played beside Karl in central midfield. This can happen today again. The players who normal plays there are Stöger and Matmour and they are not very pleased about that but they have to help the team and so it is nothing to say against. Also youngster Sebastian Jacob overcomes Hofmann as second striker behind Lakic and he is on bench today again. But it is always up to the match on what attacker the Coach count then.

After the hard 1-2 defeat against Union last friday the situation is getting worse in Aue. Nevertheless Coach Stipic talked only positive from the game and his team. He put out the good things and give them maybe some self confidence for the hard game today. As I wrote above the situation is worse, if you take a look at the table or if you take a look on the squad where a lot of players are not available. Next one was Schröder who was very important for Coach Stipic but he has a muscle injury and can not play. For Schröder can play Diring in midfield while Löning and Hauck are out additional and travelled not with the team. With the miss from Löning they have big problems in attack because they have no alternatives left. Ok, Okoronkwo but he was very weak against Union and is far away from his best level. Aue's Coach Stipic plans a more compact and defensive minded system for this game to hold as long as they can the draw and maybe with some luck they try to get a Point.

In my eyes a big class difference here. Kaiserslautern do a good job this season and they are more involved in promotion race as in recent years what is the reason that they go only from game to game and do not talk from promotion anymore as they did last years. The team is working well and they have some good players with good moves and actions in their team who can help them to come through the preferred wall from Aue. The team from Erzgebirge is nothing special at the moment and they have a lot of problems now. On a normal day, Kaiserslautern win this encounter with 2 or more goals.

Borussia Dortmund - 1899 Hoffenheim

An important game above all for Borussia Dortmund who stands on the bottom of the table. The situation there is worse and they have to improve a lot if they want to get back to their normal level. They have and had a lot of problems in the past. After the Champions League Final 2013 and the lost game to Bayern Munich the downtrend has began. Since then and 72 matches now they never played with same defensive row, in every match they had to change because of injuries or suspension. They had a lot of long term injuries with Subotic, Schmelzer and Pisczek but all are back now, nevertheless they search for their form. Important news is that Hummels returns today and he has to start immediately because of less alternatives. With DEF Sokratis they have a long term injured player there, youngster Ginter has some mental problems after his big mistake in Frankfurt what makes it easy for Klopp to build up the central back with Hummels and Subotic. Also in Frankfurt injured Pisczek said that he can play and allow Klopp more alternatives. Two long term injured players returned as well with Kuba and Sahin but never know in what condition they are after so long time. According to the long injury they have no match praxis and therefore a problem to start anyway. In offensive they created a lot but they were not able to get the good opportunities finished. It is due to the wrong offensive players they signed maybe or they have not the form or they are not for the system Klopp wants to play. Immobile and Ramos are far away from their form from last season where they played in Turin or Berlin. Additional midfield player Micky tried a lot and he has some good actions but he is really harmless in front of the goal and this cost a lot for BvB in the past. Klopp said that this Friday it is “High Noon” in Dortmund but if they can make the turnaround it is more as questionable.

The start from 1899 Hoffenheim was very well, they made a lot better as last season and they had success. The last matches showed a different Hoffenheim and the return to the games from last season where it was a lot of spectacle. They are scoring for free but conceding also in recent matches. The defensive line was strength with DEF Bicagic from Braunschweig and Keeper Baumann from Freiburg, both made a good job so far. Nevertheless they have to find the right balance again to avoid so many goals against them (14 in the last 3 matches). In offensive they are always good for goals above all with such a great offensive. They have players like Volland, Firmino, Modeste, Szalai (suspended), Schipplock and Zuber. One of the big advantages is that they are playing for longer time together now and they know the running way from each other what makes it more easy for them. This gives Hoffenheim a lot of opportunities to hurt Dortmund in their own stadium and be a hard opponent.

Statistic:

-              The BL record between both teams is even with 4-4-4 by 17-17 goals.

-              In the last 5 games were 20 goals, an average from 4 !!!

-              Only in Season 85/86 BvB had less Points (10) as at the moment.

-              Dortmund has more defeats now as in both seasons where they won the title.

-              Only one defeat more to their highest number since Klopp arrived in Dortmund.

-              1899 won only 1 of their last 10 BL road games (1-5-4).

-              Hoffenheim and Dortmund made both a lot of individual faults who leads to goals.

I am very optimistic that Dortmund does not beat the high HC line. They are far away from their best level and a lot of problems anyway. They play again with a different defensive back and in offensive they are to harmless. Their most important player in offensive with Reus is out again, so a lot of pressure on Immobile, Ramos and Co. While Hoffenheim has almost all their players ready, they come to Dortmund with the best squad and they can hurt BvB with the offensive potential they have. I am sure, if Dortmund win, never with two goals margin above all in this situation at the moment.

Eintracht Braunschweig - 1.FC Nürnberg

The last match of Round 15 will be played as always on Monday evening. Both relegated Teams hosts each other in Braunschweig where Eintracht and Nürnberg can be the winner of the Round after a very bad start into the season. Braunschweig is still on track with 4 victories in a row and they can climb up to second place with a win after almost all from the top 7 failed. Only leader Ingolstadt and Kaiserslautern won what gives Eintracht a very good opportunity for a real comeback in promotion race. On the other side Nürnberg under new Coach Weiler can continue the way they have began against leader Ingolstadt and go for the second win in a row under him. This can be a big step and they can close the gap to third place to 5 Points with a win today.

After recent success Braunschweig’s Coach has no reason to change his team compared to the last match but he must change at least one time due to suspended back wing Kessel. Therefore he must change his defensive line. This can be a huge change where some moves insight the team can replace Kessel. For this reason it can be possible that Hedenstad moves from the left to the right wing while Reichel who played in central defensive move to the left and his normal position while Decarli comes into the starting lineup as central back beside Correia. The more easy alternative should be to let Decarli play on the right wing on the open position. This means not so many moves. On all other positions are no changes expected as they did a good job and it is not needed at the moment.

The new Coach from Nürnberg Weiler had a good first game and the result was very well against the leader. But for this encounter he can not count on the same eleven as with Pinola is the left wing out after his red card against Ingolstadt. He can be replaced by Bihr or Ramirez who both are ready. Also his experiment in central back with Mössmer (normally midfield player) and Hovland was a good one that he counts on both again today. The midfield row and attack remain the same as against Ingolstadt. In offensive above all in attack they are very short with only Sylvestr available. It was a moment of shock under the week as he has to stop with training but it was nothing that he can not play.

I am not sure about Nürnberg here, the new Coach Weiler wants to play an offensive style and this is maybe a good opportunity for home strong Braunschweig who are in excellent form at the moment. They are hard to beat and in their stadium with their supporters in back it should be possible to win above all against a team who have a lot of problems to score and is short of alternatives in attack.

FC Augsburg - Hamburger SV

Excellent match ahead. Augsburg is high flying at the moment while Hamburg fighting for their live at the moment. A big different in the situation of both teams at the moment. Augsburg very solid at the moment, very hard to beat has all weapons in their hand to beat their lovely opponent Hamburg. For this they must replace first keeper Hitz who got injured against Stuttgart and is out longer now. He will be replaced by veteran Manninger who knows that situation very well and this should be not a big problem at all. He showed excellent performances in all his matches. All the other positions maybe remain unchanged because no injury worries for Coach Weinzierl, only the long term injured Moravek, Parker, Philp are out again.

On the other side Hamburg got some self confidence back after winning the north derby but Coach Zinnbauer has some problems for this encounter. He must replaced suspended wing Diekmeier who got his fifth yellow card and also first keeper Drobny is a big doubt. For Diekmeier comes youngster Götz into the starting lineup while Drobny is hard to replace as with Adler they have the second keeper already out too. This means that youngster and third keeper Burst must play here. It is a big step as we saw in some situations from other teams who must count on the third one. Maybe he got his nerves down and do a good job but we will see if Drobny is still ready.

FC Ingolstadt 04 - VfL Bochum

It is a big surprise that Ingolstadt stands on the top but the potential and the budget is there and why not go the next step. But not all are pleased with the situation, above all from the last 3 games where they got not much and this is that they lost their advantage to other teams who has close the gap already now. And after the first defeat this season and their long run from 19 unbeaten road games end last weekend, they has to focus on the next match and the start a new streak. Their opponent was long time winless, since 8 games they are aiming for a win and they did it last weekend and therefore their form are going up, what makes it more difficult for Ingolstadt today.

Coach Hasenhüttl is working on a more compact team as in recent games where they conceded 5 of their 11 goals. He said that the team must return to the play from the beginning of the season and this was to give all for the team. May it was the reason, that Lex and Da Costa got injured and he has to changes his starting lineup after playing several times with the same starting lineup. They are not available now and they have to make the best without them. Hübner was also out against Nürnberg but he should return for this match today. But they have the next player out with midfielder Morales who got his fifth yellow card and is suspended here. For him can play youngster Bauer or Wannenwetsch what is the better choice. Also weak Engel can be replaced by new signing Levels who maybe get a chance here.

Coach Neururer was very happy after the win last weekend but he does not want to sit back, he wants to bring the focus forward to the next game and he is thinking that he can make a surprise here. The same tactic and system should help him to bring Ingolstadt under pressure, with pressing. The performance from the starting lineup was well, so all can hope that they are starters today. They won 4-0 to Aalen of course, but the play was not so good and the match anyway. It was hard work and a lot of luck too. Luthe saved his time twice, and he was almost out for this encounter due to back injury but he said that he can play. A other player Gregoritsch travelled not with the team, he is injured. For him joker Terrazzino plays, who comes in last weekend already. He should have some self confidence after his goal anyway.

Fortuna Düsseldorf - Greuther Fürth

It is a big chance for both teams as almost all their opponents failed this weekend. Düsseldorf has the chance to overcome Ingolstadt after their defeat in Nürnberg but they have to win with two or more goals margin to get on top. Also Fürth has the chance after some weak weeks to close the gap to third place to 3 Points and get some hope back maybe for promotion race. According to both teams situation it is an interesting match.

Fortuna did really well in the past but at home they had some problems. Nevertheless they are trying to jump on first place today. For this reason they need again a compact defensive work as in both last matches where they conceded not a single goal. The central back is working very well with Tah and Soares but this time it is very interesting to see what Coach Reck plans after captain Bodzek is back. If he plans with his captain again he must sit one of the two players on bench. After the last training sessions it looks like that Soares is the one who are out of the starting lineup. He can not sit Tah on bench as he talked only positive from him and he said that this young player is too good for second league and he does not understand that Hamburg gives him away on loan. Düsseldorf’s veteran Lambertz is also back after some talked already he must leave the club. He made an excellent game in Munich before the break and is an alternative again. It is more as impossible that midfield and attack will be changes from Reck today.

After the bad run Fürth is looking forward for better times at the moment. Some good news arrived after the national break as with first keeper Hesl and veteran Sukalo returns two important players. Also youngster Pledl is back after injured while Schröck is suspended today. This means that Pledl is immediately in the starting lineup for Schröck. One of the attackers Zulj or Wurtz must on bench while Stiepermann move forward a make the position free for Sukalo. Therefore they play only with one attacker and Stiepermann behind in a central role.

VfB Stuttgart - FC Augsburg

Both teams has a lot of problems at the moment, Stuttgart overall while Augsburg has only a away problem where they are to harmless. If you take a look at the stats it is no entertainment expected. I think both try to play with a lot of control and try to hold as long as they can the clean sheet. If the match gets more open in second half maybe they can invest more. The situation should be clear, VfB need the win urgently to get out of the bottom zone, a draw is much to less. On the other side Augsburg want to bring their negative run to an end and therefore they should not lose. With a draw they can climb to place 8 and with a win they make a huge step to place 6. Additional it is a big step for them and their only goal, avoid relegation.

For Stuttgart keeper Ulreich returns into the goal today because Kirschbaum got injured and with a head injury it is to dangerous that he play today. Schwaab is also doubtful but if he can start the problems for Coach Veh are not so heavy, otherwise a youngster comes into the starting lineup.

Augsburg has some more options and Coach Weinzierl is a very good coach and he knows what tactic he must use and on what players he must count today.

1.FC Nürnberg - FC Ingolstadt 04

FCN's new Coach Weiler

Since 10 worked new Coach Weiler with his team now and he must give his idea as fast as he can to the team because they have not much time as the next hard match is ahead with Ingolstadt. The "Schanzer" comes to Nürnberg as leader and also with a huge run from 19 unbeaten road games so far. This is a new record in 2.BL history and of course they want continue this way and also defend their leading position. On the other side Nürnberg needs Points urgently as the table situation is not the best and therefore Coach Weiler has not much time anyway now.

After Ismael was fired two days later Weiler was here and he made a good job so far. The training was very well and all have some fun too. It looks like that the team got some new motivation and power back. But nevertheless training and game are two different shoes therefore they have to bring it on the pitch today and it is all about results at the moment, the rest maybe comes from game to game. Compared to the last match from Ismael in Sandhausen 1-2 it speaks not much for changes as Weiler wants to count on the same eleven. Defender Petrak is suspended after his red card, for him Pinola can come into the team here. Second defender Stark has also some problems with injuries and if he must pass it is not obvious that Hovland plays here or maybe Builthuis who was not in the squad for long time under Coach Ismael. Midfield can keep the same, Mössmer is not ready yet and therefore no changes possible. In offensive they have no alternatives today, Mlapa got injured and is out, so only Sylvestr left. Good news for keeper Schäfer who returns on bench at least but Rakovsky remains in goal as first keeper.

Ingolstadt has a great run and they are unbeaten this season overall. This means that they have to defend this series. Comapred to the last matches they have to make some changes because after 9 games with the same starting lineup they have to replace two important players here with Lex and Da Costa who were active players in Hasenhüttl's system. It is not an easy way now as the squad is not such big as they can choose from a lot. Maybe this is their biggest problem this season and at the moment all the other things are going well for them. Last time played Engels on Da Costa's position but Ingolstadt signed former Gladbach and Düsseldorf player Levels who can play this position very well. Also the experiment with two attackers was not the best against Union what is hard for Pekhardt who is out of the team but just against his former club. With Harmann comes a player in who is very quick and can bring a lot of fast action in their play today.

SC Paderborn - Borussia Dortmund

Very interesting game ahead, if Dortmund can not win against newcomer Paderborn today it is of course a big disaster for them anyway. This can be that they are longer down in the table as this is one of the easy opponent they face now. Ok, Paderborn did very well so far and is a team with big fighting spirit but against the big teams in the league they are far away and they got nothing till now. I can not say them getting here again a win or a draw, it is nonsense after the great run now. Dortmund has all weapons ready, also Reus who got injured in last game but he plays. The only big misses are Hummels and Sokratis in defensive but this time I think they can be replaced.

SCP surprised so far, it was hard hard work for them and they are riding the wave of success but if some important players are out they have big problems. This was the case in Augsburg before the break where important captain and defender Hünemeier was not available. He is doubtful here again. Also Meha who is always dangerous with his free kicks and corners is also doubtful. The other players should be hot as most of them played in 2nd team from Dortmund but do not get any chance there. In Paderborn they are important.

- After 5 BL defeats in a row, BvB celebrated a 1-0 home win to Gladbach (Deserved).
- BvB lost the last 4 road games, 2006/07 it was 6 in a row.
- A CL spot is far away, they have a big gap to H96, Gladbach, Wolfsburg and Bayern.
- In the last 7 BL games, Paderborn conceded always at least 1 goal.
- BvB kept the first time a clean sheet and this was before the national break against Gladbach.

I like the matchup and I am sure that Dortmund are able to win there. SCP can only get anything if they bring all their power on the pitch but sooner or later the batteries are empty. They can not go from week to week and invest so much more as other teams that they win. This is not the next surprise what happen, BvB is to big for them this time !!!

FC Heidenheim - SV Sandhausen

Both team won their last match before the national break and they have a good feeling in the break. Newcomer Heidenheim did really well and with 20 Points after 14 matches they are in the top while Sandhausen has 5 Points less and is only 3 Points ahead of the red zone. Both aims are to avoid relegation what is possible. This can be an important match for both above all after the break.

The situation and mood is very well in Heidenheim but Coach Schmidt let train very hard and gave the players the feeling that they reached nothing so far. So they must be focused from beginning on again. He does not want that they are to relaxed and mean they can work with less effort. The Coaches goal is to get as much Points as they can get and go into the winter break with a good feeling and prepare for second half of the season without any pressure. Compared to the amazing win against St. Pauli where his team played great soccer he has not reason to change anything from his starting lineup. Only the injured Griesbeck is out for 2-3 weeks, what means that Reinhardt plays for him today.

After Sandhausen’s win against Nürnberg where they have to come from behind they are looking forward with a better feeling now. Under the national break the personnel situations is getting better and better because some of the injured players returned to team training. This gives a lot of hope for Coach, Team and Management now. Alder and Kratz are alternatives in the coming weeks, for today the fitness is not like that they can start. In goal he can choose from both Riemann and Knaller. Knaller made a great game against Nürnberg and was best man of his team and replaced injured Riemann very well. The first keeper is back, early as expected but he trained already and can be an option to start but it is up to Coach Schwartz if he trusts him and tries to risk some. Also suspended captain Kulovits is back and can replace Tüting in central midfield. The other places remain unchanged as the team did well against Nürnberg.

The home team impressed above all at home they play a good and fresh offensive soccer, this can be the advantage against Sandhausen who are a very bad traveler and has a lot of problems on the road recently. Also they were not able in many attempts to get much in Heidenheim. This make me very confident for the home team here.

VfL Bochum - VfR Aalen

Here we have two teams who are both on a huge downtrend. Bochum started well but missed a lot in the past and they are trying to get the first win since 7 home games now. It is almost the same situation as last season where they were only able to get 10 wins overall. Therefore if they do not want to fall down more it is very important to celebrate the first home win with their fans today. According to their opponent it is the right time because Aalen is on bottom now and comes to Bochum winless since a long time too. Also away from home they are winless since last season. But, of course they have nothing to give away here as they need every point especially in their situation.

For this game Coach Neururer plans a huge pressing with his team and let train it the whole week. He wants to put some pressure on Aalen’s defensive and hope that they produce some faults and let his team come to easy opportunities to score. For this he has almost the whole squad available, only long term injured defender Simunek is out and Holthaus is suspended from him for discipline reasons. In this case he counts on the same successful starting eleven as to begin of the season. Compared to the last game in Kaiserslautern starts Sestak for Weis and the system move from 4-3-2-1 to 4-4-2. Under the week they signed a new player with Bastians who is former Bochum player and he knows all here. This can be an option too now.

After 3 defeats in a row and the big fall to bottom it is very important to Aalen to get back otherwise the gap is getting bigger to the safe zone. They are under huge pressure today because they need results. Coach Ruthenbeck is safe and he trusts his team anyway. Against the last match to FSV Frankfurt where they lost a bit unlucky he prepared his team more defensive minded and put a well known system 4-3-3 up. They try to play their known style with good defensive and go then over counter. Some changes can be done anyway as the squad is getting better where some players returns from injury. Only long term injured Lechleitner is out. Also some other players have to improve a lot if they want to start today.

For me it is the perfect time for Bochum to get the first win against a team who has the same big problems. Nevertheless it can be a close one but in the end I expect a win for the home team. Aalen is to harmless anyway and scored hardly. Bochum’s time !!!

1860 München - Fortuna Düsseldorf

The last match before the national break in 2.Bundesliga this evening between 1860 Munich and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Both teams have a very good chance to take advantage of the results from the weekend. 1860 can climb up until place 11 with a win while Düsseldorf can jump back on second place and get closer to leader Ingolstadt who played only 3-3 yesterday. But first they have to win in Munich and they can close the gap to 3 Points what let them hope to overcome Ingolstadt till winter break.

After a long time and negative run 1860 Munich celebrated a 3-0 win in Bochum last weekend what was very important for them and their situation but nevertheless they want continue this way and go for the next win at home today. For this reason Coach van Ahlen counts on the same eleven who win in Bochum, this means that the youngsters Wittek and Wolf remain in the starting lineup. Also the two doubtful players Rama and Okotie are able to start although they had some problems with slight injuries last week. The other players Bedia and Rodri are still out longer, they are not able to return this year, therefore two more players on which Coach von Ahlen can not count.

Düsseldorf’s coach Reck has a lot more problems compared to the last game against Ingolstadt. He has to change a lot for today’s game because with midfield player Pinto, Schmitz and Bodzek are sure 3 starters not available. Bodzek was already not in the squad against Ingolstadt but he could not train and traveled not with the team to Munich anyway. In this case the central back will be field with Tah and Soares while Bellinghausen plays on the left back wing and replace there Schmitz. For the open place in midfield fight Halloran and Golley. For Pinto’s position in central midfield fighting Gartner and veteran Lambertz who both have some hope to play. In attack it is the same situation as in the past where Pohjanpalo and Hoffer are candidates for the last place in team. It is more as open and maybe a last minute decision from Reck.
