FC Augsburg - Hamburger SV

Excellent match ahead. Augsburg is high flying at the moment while Hamburg fighting for their live at the moment. A big different in the situation of both teams at the moment. Augsburg very solid at the moment, very hard to beat has all weapons in their hand to beat their lovely opponent Hamburg. For this they must replace first keeper Hitz who got injured against Stuttgart and is out longer now. He will be replaced by veteran Manninger who knows that situation very well and this should be not a big problem at all. He showed excellent performances in all his matches. All the other positions maybe remain unchanged because no injury worries for Coach Weinzierl, only the long term injured Moravek, Parker, Philp are out again.

On the other side Hamburg got some self confidence back after winning the north derby but Coach Zinnbauer has some problems for this encounter. He must replaced suspended wing Diekmeier who got his fifth yellow card and also first keeper Drobny is a big doubt. For Diekmeier comes youngster Götz into the starting lineup while Drobny is hard to replace as with Adler they have the second keeper already out too. This means that youngster and third keeper Burst must play here. It is a big step as we saw in some situations from other teams who must count on the third one. Maybe he got his nerves down and do a good job but we will see if Drobny is still ready.

The offensive is harmless from Hamburg against a team who play compact. In this case I must try this team from Augsburg to go for the win.

FC Ingolstadt 04 - VfL Bochum

It is a big surprise that Ingolstadt stands on the top but the potential and the budget is there and why not go the next step. But not all are pleased with the situation, above all from the last 3 games where they got not much and this is that they lost their advantage to other teams who has close the gap already now. And after the first defeat this season and their long run from 19 unbeaten road games end last weekend, they has to focus on the next match and the start a new streak. Their opponent was long time winless, since 8 games they are aiming for a win and they did it last weekend and therefore their form are going up, what makes it more difficult for Ingolstadt today.

Coach Hasenhüttl is working on a more compact team as in recent games where they conceded 5 of their 11 goals. He said that the team must return to the play from the beginning of the season and this was to give all for the team. May it was the reason, that Lex and Da Costa got injured and he has to changes his starting lineup after playing several times with the same starting lineup. They are not available now and they have to make the best without them. Hübner was also out against Nürnberg but he should return for this match today. But they have the next player out with midfielder Morales who got his fifth yellow card and is suspended here. For him can play youngster Bauer or Wannenwetsch what is the better choice. Also weak Engel can be replaced by new signing Levels who maybe get a chance here.

Coach Neururer was very happy after the win last weekend but he does not want to sit back, he wants to bring the focus forward to the next game and he is thinking that he can make a surprise here. The same tactic and system should help him to bring Ingolstadt under pressure, with pressing. The performance from the starting lineup was well, so all can hope that they are starters today. They won 4-0 to Aalen of course, but the play was not so good and the match anyway. It was hard work and a lot of luck too. Luthe saved his time twice, and he was almost out for this encounter due to back injury but he said that he can play. A other player Gregoritsch travelled not with the team, he is injured. For him joker Terrazzino plays, who comes in last weekend already. He should have some self confidence after his goal anyway.

Fortuna Düsseldorf - Greuther Fürth

It is a big chance for both teams as almost all their opponents failed this weekend. Düsseldorf has the chance to overcome Ingolstadt after their defeat in Nürnberg but they have to win with two or more goals margin to get on top. Also Fürth has the chance after some weak weeks to close the gap to third place to 3 Points and get some hope back maybe for promotion race. According to both teams situation it is an interesting match.

Fortuna did really well in the past but at home they had some problems. Nevertheless they are trying to jump on first place today. For this reason they need again a compact defensive work as in both last matches where they conceded not a single goal. The central back is working very well with Tah and Soares but this time it is very interesting to see what Coach Reck plans after captain Bodzek is back. If he plans with his captain again he must sit one of the two players on bench. After the last training sessions it looks like that Soares is the one who are out of the starting lineup. He can not sit Tah on bench as he talked only positive from him and he said that this young player is too good for second league and he does not understand that Hamburg gives him away on loan. Düsseldorf’s veteran Lambertz is also back after some talked already he must leave the club. He made an excellent game in Munich before the break and is an alternative again. It is more as impossible that midfield and attack will be changes from Reck today.

After the bad run Fürth is looking forward for better times at the moment. Some good news arrived after the national break as with first keeper Hesl and veteran Sukalo returns two important players. Also youngster Pledl is back after injured while Schröck is suspended today. This means that Pledl is immediately in the starting lineup for Schröck. One of the attackers Zulj or Wurtz must on bench while Stiepermann move forward a make the position free for Sukalo. Therefore they play only with one attacker and Stiepermann behind in a central role.

VfB Stuttgart - FC Augsburg

Both teams has a lot of problems at the moment, Stuttgart overall while Augsburg has only a away problem where they are to harmless. If you take a look at the stats it is no entertainment expected. I think both try to play with a lot of control and try to hold as long as they can the clean sheet. If the match gets more open in second half maybe they can invest more. The situation should be clear, VfB need the win urgently to get out of the bottom zone, a draw is much to less. On the other side Augsburg want to bring their negative run to an end and therefore they should not lose. With a draw they can climb to place 8 and with a win they make a huge step to place 6. Additional it is a big step for them and their only goal, avoid relegation.

For Stuttgart keeper Ulreich returns into the goal today because Kirschbaum got injured and with a head injury it is to dangerous that he play today. Schwaab is also doubtful but if he can start the problems for Coach Veh are not so heavy, otherwise a youngster comes into the starting lineup.

Augsburg has some more options and Coach Weinzierl is a very good coach and he knows what tactic he must use and on what players he must count today.

1.FC Nürnberg - FC Ingolstadt 04

FCN's new Coach Weiler

Since 10 worked new Coach Weiler with his team now and he must give his idea as fast as he can to the team because they have not much time as the next hard match is ahead with Ingolstadt. The "Schanzer" comes to Nürnberg as leader and also with a huge run from 19 unbeaten road games so far. This is a new record in 2.BL history and of course they want continue this way and also defend their leading position. On the other side Nürnberg needs Points urgently as the table situation is not the best and therefore Coach Weiler has not much time anyway now.

After Ismael was fired two days later Weiler was here and he made a good job so far. The training was very well and all have some fun too. It looks like that the team got some new motivation and power back. But nevertheless training and game are two different shoes therefore they have to bring it on the pitch today and it is all about results at the moment, the rest maybe comes from game to game. Compared to the last match from Ismael in Sandhausen 1-2 it speaks not much for changes as Weiler wants to count on the same eleven. Defender Petrak is suspended after his red card, for him Pinola can come into the team here. Second defender Stark has also some problems with injuries and if he must pass it is not obvious that Hovland plays here or maybe Builthuis who was not in the squad for long time under Coach Ismael. Midfield can keep the same, Mössmer is not ready yet and therefore no changes possible. In offensive they have no alternatives today, Mlapa got injured and is out, so only Sylvestr left. Good news for keeper Schäfer who returns on bench at least but Rakovsky remains in goal as first keeper.

Ingolstadt has a great run and they are unbeaten this season overall. This means that they have to defend this series. Comapred to the last matches they have to make some changes because after 9 games with the same starting lineup they have to replace two important players here with Lex and Da Costa who were active players in Hasenhüttl's system. It is not an easy way now as the squad is not such big as they can choose from a lot. Maybe this is their biggest problem this season and at the moment all the other things are going well for them. Last time played Engels on Da Costa's position but Ingolstadt signed former Gladbach and Düsseldorf player Levels who can play this position very well. Also the experiment with two attackers was not the best against Union what is hard for Pekhardt who is out of the team but just against his former club. With Harmann comes a player in who is very quick and can bring a lot of fast action in their play today.

SC Paderborn - Borussia Dortmund

Very interesting game ahead, if Dortmund can not win against newcomer Paderborn today it is of course a big disaster for them anyway. This can be that they are longer down in the table as this is one of the easy opponent they face now. Ok, Paderborn did very well so far and is a team with big fighting spirit but against the big teams in the league they are far away and they got nothing till now. I can not say them getting here again a win or a draw, it is nonsense after the great run now. Dortmund has all weapons ready, also Reus who got injured in last game but he plays. The only big misses are Hummels and Sokratis in defensive but this time I think they can be replaced.

SCP surprised so far, it was hard hard work for them and they are riding the wave of success but if some important players are out they have big problems. This was the case in Augsburg before the break where important captain and defender Hünemeier was not available. He is doubtful here again. Also Meha who is always dangerous with his free kicks and corners is also doubtful. The other players should be hot as most of them played in 2nd team from Dortmund but do not get any chance there. In Paderborn they are important.


Statistic:

- After 5 BL defeats in a row, BvB celebrated a 1-0 home win to Gladbach (Deserved).
- BvB lost the last 4 road games, 2006/07 it was 6 in a row.
- A CL spot is far away, they have a big gap to H96, Gladbach, Wolfsburg and Bayern.
- In the last 7 BL games, Paderborn conceded always at least 1 goal.
- BvB kept the first time a clean sheet and this was before the national break against Gladbach.
- SCP is very hot in second half they are one of the best teams there with 12 goals scored.

- This is the fist game between these two clubs against each other.

I like the matchup and I am sure that Dortmund are able to win there. SCP can only get anything if they bring all their power on the pitch but sooner or later the batteries are empty. They can not go from week to week and invest so much more as other teams that they win. This is not the next surprise what happen, BvB is to big for them this time !!!

FC Heidenheim - SV Sandhausen

Both team won their last match before the national break and they have a good feeling in the break. Newcomer Heidenheim did really well and with 20 Points after 14 matches they are in the top while Sandhausen has 5 Points less and is only 3 Points ahead of the red zone. Both aims are to avoid relegation what is possible. This can be an important match for both above all after the break.

The situation and mood is very well in Heidenheim but Coach Schmidt let train very hard and gave the players the feeling that they reached nothing so far. So they must be focused from beginning on again. He does not want that they are to relaxed and mean they can work with less effort. The Coaches goal is to get as much Points as they can get and go into the winter break with a good feeling and prepare for second half of the season without any pressure. Compared to the amazing win against St. Pauli where his team played great soccer he has not reason to change anything from his starting lineup. Only the injured Griesbeck is out for 2-3 weeks, what means that Reinhardt plays for him today.

After Sandhausen’s win against Nürnberg where they have to come from behind they are looking forward with a better feeling now. Under the national break the personnel situations is getting better and better because some of the injured players returned to team training. This gives a lot of hope for Coach, Team and Management now. Alder and Kratz are alternatives in the coming weeks, for today the fitness is not like that they can start. In goal he can choose from both Riemann and Knaller. Knaller made a great game against Nürnberg and was best man of his team and replaced injured Riemann very well. The first keeper is back, early as expected but he trained already and can be an option to start but it is up to Coach Schwartz if he trusts him and tries to risk some. Also suspended captain Kulovits is back and can replace Tüting in central midfield. The other places remain unchanged as the team did well against Nürnberg.

The home team impressed above all at home they play a good and fresh offensive soccer, this can be the advantage against Sandhausen who are a very bad traveler and has a lot of problems on the road recently. Also they were not able in many attempts to get much in Heidenheim. This make me very confident for the home team here.

VfL Bochum - VfR Aalen

Here we have two teams who are both on a huge downtrend. Bochum started well but missed a lot in the past and they are trying to get the first win since 7 home games now. It is almost the same situation as last season where they were only able to get 10 wins overall. Therefore if they do not want to fall down more it is very important to celebrate the first home win with their fans today. According to their opponent it is the right time because Aalen is on bottom now and comes to Bochum winless since a long time too. Also away from home they are winless since last season. But, of course they have nothing to give away here as they need every point especially in their situation.

For this game Coach Neururer plans a huge pressing with his team and let train it the whole week. He wants to put some pressure on Aalen’s defensive and hope that they produce some faults and let his team come to easy opportunities to score. For this he has almost the whole squad available, only long term injured defender Simunek is out and Holthaus is suspended from him for discipline reasons. In this case he counts on the same successful starting eleven as to begin of the season. Compared to the last game in Kaiserslautern starts Sestak for Weis and the system move from 4-3-2-1 to 4-4-2. Under the week they signed a new player with Bastians who is former Bochum player and he knows all here. This can be an option too now.

After 3 defeats in a row and the big fall to bottom it is very important to Aalen to get back otherwise the gap is getting bigger to the safe zone. They are under huge pressure today because they need results. Coach Ruthenbeck is safe and he trusts his team anyway. Against the last match to FSV Frankfurt where they lost a bit unlucky he prepared his team more defensive minded and put a well known system 4-3-3 up. They try to play their known style with good defensive and go then over counter. Some changes can be done anyway as the squad is getting better where some players returns from injury. Only long term injured Lechleitner is out. Also some other players have to improve a lot if they want to start today.

For me it is the perfect time for Bochum to get the first win against a team who has the same big problems. Nevertheless it can be a close one but in the end I expect a win for the home team. Aalen is to harmless anyway and scored hardly. Bochum’s time !!!

1860 München - Fortuna Düsseldorf

The last match before the national break in 2.Bundesliga this evening between 1860 Munich and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Both teams have a very good chance to take advantage of the results from the weekend. 1860 can climb up until place 11 with a win while Düsseldorf can jump back on second place and get closer to leader Ingolstadt who played only 3-3 yesterday. But first they have to win in Munich and they can close the gap to 3 Points what let them hope to overcome Ingolstadt till winter break.

After a long time and negative run 1860 Munich celebrated a 3-0 win in Bochum last weekend what was very important for them and their situation but nevertheless they want continue this way and go for the next win at home today. For this reason Coach van Ahlen counts on the same eleven who win in Bochum, this means that the youngsters Wittek and Wolf remain in the starting lineup. Also the two doubtful players Rama and Okotie are able to start although they had some problems with slight injuries last week. The other players Bedia and Rodri are still out longer, they are not able to return this year, therefore two more players on which Coach von Ahlen can not count.

Düsseldorf’s coach Reck has a lot more problems compared to the last game against Ingolstadt. He has to change a lot for today’s game because with midfield player Pinto, Schmitz and Bodzek are sure 3 starters not available. Bodzek was already not in the squad against Ingolstadt but he could not train and traveled not with the team to Munich anyway. In this case the central back will be field with Tah and Soares while Bellinghausen plays on the left back wing and replace there Schmitz. For the open place in midfield fight Halloran and Golley. For Pinto’s position in central midfield fighting Gartner and veteran Lambertz who both have some hope to play. In attack it is the same situation as in the past where Pohjanpalo and Hoffer are candidates for the last place in team. It is more as open and maybe a last minute decision from Reck.   

Greuther Fürth - Karlsruher SC

This match is very important for both, according to the table situation they can with a win close the gap a bit to the top and maybe be in the race of promotion if they continue this way. Nevertheless both have missed a lot this season and they are to average to stand in the top so far. Both failed many times and this is the outcome they have to life with it anyway.

 

One of the newspaper talked that Greuther Fürth is back after the 1-0 win in Berlin last weekend but it is a long way and they have to improve a lot. The winning goal was scored after a free kick and the fast action from Fürth's Przybylko. He was one step ahead of his opponent and finish this opportunity very well. Maybe it was also due to the change from Coach Kramer from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2 according to the not available player Sukalo. In attack played Zulj and Wurtz who made their things well and should have a good chance to start today again. This means that winning goal scorer Przybylko plays over the wing and Stieperman in central midfield. But Sukalo is back from suspension and this is also an option for Kramer but he has to change some again and it looks like that he let all the same from last match. The defensive line remain unchanged, the other positions are open, see above.

KSC Coach Kauczinski plans a lot of changes today after the last performances but he let all open and he does not say anything about the lineup he wants to field up today. The first option can be Kempe who returns on the back wing while youngster Max is out of the starting lineup. The next one can be Peitz and Meffert in central midfield while Yabo move forward to a offensive position. This means that Hennings who had a great game against his former club St. Pauli but against Sandhausen he was very weak last weekend and this maybe costs him the place in the starting lineup. Also Torres can be an option, for him Park is the first who is out then but he maybe gets a chance here again as they play against his former club and therefore he can be very motivated anyway. 

Eintracht Frankfurt - Bayern München

Normally this is a clear thing for Bayern Munich, if they want they win with a high margin here and know one expecting anything else but if you take a look in the stats it is not so easy for them there. They played over 40 matches there and they was not able to win more as 11 till now, ok some Cup successes not included but from the 11 they won there it was only 1 where they could beat the HC from -2 !!! One or two times it would have been void but most of the time of their 11 victories they won with a one goal margin. Of course, Bayern is a class over all in BL but sometimes they take the lead and stop playing and try to safe energy.

Ok Frankfurt has a lot of problems in recent games and they had also a lot of injured players. This makes the situation not as easy as Coach Schaaf wants. Again a lot of missing players with Djakpa, Valdez, Flum, Lanig, Trapp, Zambrano and Rosenthal. But they have to bring all their power on the pitch today for a big fight against a team who is normally not to beat. Nevertheless Coach Schaaf trying to put up a huge defensive minded team with a lot of defensive potential und up front they hope and trust Sefereovic and Meier.

It is more as open what starting lineup Coach Guardiola send on the pitch after the CL match under the week today. It looks like that Robben and Müller are back in team and maybe Ribery, Bernat or Götze gets a break. In defensive it is also possible for some changes like Dante for Benatia or for Boateng. Sure not available is Alaba who is a big miss now after his great performances in the past games. He can be replaced by former Frankfurt player Rode who is absolutely hot for this match. If Coach Guardiola counts not on him he must bring Höjberg who is the last alternative here. It is expected that Bayern plays as always with high ball possession and control the game very well. The missing on Munich side are Alaba, Starke, Reina, Schweinsteiger, Martinez, Badstuber, Thiago and Pizzaro.

Statistic:

- Since 2007 Eintracht Frankfurt could win only 1 of the 13 matches against Bayern (1-2-10).
- The only win was 2010 with 2-1 in a league match.
- From the last 4 matches on the road, Bayern won only 1 (2-0 in Cologne / 3 draws).
- But Bayern lost only 1 of the last 40 league away matches (32-7-0).
- This was last season 0-1 in Augsburg where they played with a mix team but failed there.
- Frankfurt lost the last 4 games, this happen almost one year ago too.

SV Darmstadt 98 - RB Leipzig

Both teams were promoted last season and they play a very good and solid season in 2.BL. Both have already 20 Points on their side and they are close to the top. Darmstadt is back in 2.BL after several years absent but they managed the battle against Bielefeld for their return into 2.BL while Leipzig was promoted directly. This is their first year in 2.BL every and they are doing a great job. The situation was clear last season because both matches won Leipzig with 1-0. Therefore the "Lilian" want revenge here and today. Also they want to continue their good home run and celebrate win number six with the fans today.

The team maybe remain unchanged compared to the last away game in Heidenheim where they got a Point. The only change maybe can be on the wing where Balogun has some muscle problems what means that Sirigu is back in the team. All the other players are hot and ready and therefore Coach Schuster can choose from a lot and well balanced squad. Important midfield player Gondorf was ill last match and he has not trained till Thursday, so it is more as open if he is in the starting lineup. He take place on bench also because the both Jungwirth and Behrens made their job very well against Heidenheim in central midfield. Also in attack made Sailer a good performance what makes a change impossible anyway.

After the harmless first half and the average second half from Leipzig against Kaiserslautern thinks Coach Zorninger over some changes. He was not very pleased with the performances and the style of play of some players. The first can be Teigl starts while Heidinger who played against Lautern there must on bench after his horrible performance. The next one is Kimmich who has a lot of problems at the moment with some injuries what makes the places free for Demme today. Also in attack it is more as open that Frahn starts, he has good years in Leipzig but he is far away from his best level at the moment and new signing Boyd is doing better and better in the past what makes sense to bring him beside best Leipzig player Poulsen.

Interesting encounter between two promoted teams who playing a great season so far.

1.FC Kaiserslautern - VfL Bochum

Floodlight time at „Betzenberg“ where Kaiserslautern hosts VfL Bochum. The home team can continue their run at home with 6 wins out of 7 matches (Cup match included) and with the next one they jump up to second place and put some pressure on the other teams around them what is very important at this period now. Only Düsseldorf was able to get a Point in Lautern where they lead long time but conceded in the end the equalizer. Bochum comes now to “Betzenberg” without a win in 7 games but they must try to be the first team who win there. According to table situation they must know that soon it can be the same as last season therefore they must invest all they have available now not to lose at least otherwise the situation is getting worse again.

All is prepared for the next win, Coach Runjaic has all the players from the last game in Leipzig ready again, only behind Löwe is a small questionmark after his light injury in this last game. If he must pass, his replacement is young Jean Zimmer who played already some matches on this position. Nevertheless it is planned to start with the same lineup and with the same system as recently practiced. Maybe a bit more offensive minded as in Leipzig but they basis is the same. If Coach Runjaic thinks about his starting lineup maybe he can decide to change the attackers. This means that Hofmann is replaced by Lakic and he must come from bench again. Hofmann has a great night in Cup against Fürth where he scored twice but was more as unlucky against Leipzig. And while Lakic is back after his slight back problems he can start here. Behind the only attacker playing three offensive minded players which were Stöger, Younes and Matmour in the last game and they were not so bad at all what means that they get a new chance today. Of course the alternatives are huge on these positions because with Gaus and Fomitschow they have two in the back who can replace one of the three mentioned above. The Coach can be very pleased with the options anyway.

A lot of troubles after the huge negative run from Bochum. Additional after the Cup knock out in Dresden and the heavy lose against 1860 last weekend. The supporters were not very pleased about the performance and they are very angry now. Against 1860 they want that they fire Coach Neururer and also the first keeper Luthe after his big mistake was one of the guys they are do not like anymore. They need some stabilizer in team but no one is there at the moment, they all have to do with themselves and the bad situation. Maybe the former Lautern player Simunek is one of these players who can lead the team but he is injured. Timo Perthel is back from injury and he can play for Holthaus here. No more other changes expected due to less alternatives now. The only change can be that Weis returns on bench again and Sestak plays in attack beside Terrode or behind him and Gregoritsch plays beside. Both options are possible. It is a change to a more fast style of play and go for counter attacks.

Bor. M'Gladbach - 1899 Hoffenheim

Both teams are riding the wave of success this season where both are unbeaten so far. Gladbach has shown last weekend that they are able to hold the pressure on Munich high and they were almost close to win this encounter if they had used one of their big counter attacks. Hoffenheim on the other side has their best season start ever in BL so far and they are looking forward to stay in the top of the table. Both teams have a lot of potential and they are able to replace some players as well. An interesting match up for today, if both want to be as close as they can to the leader Bayern, they must win this encounter.

At home Gladbach is hard to beat anyway as we know from last season. They play great from a compact defensive line but over their fast attackers like Hahn, Herrmann, Traore, Raffael and Kruse they are always able to create and get dangerous. Above all the fast actions from defensive to offensive is their biggest plus at the moment. The next key fact is that they have not only Raffael, Kruse, Herrmann or last year Arrango in offensive they have a much better and deeper squad this season with excellent players.

On the other side is Hoffenheim a team who has the offensive style in their blood already last season but they forgot the defensive work and conceded incredible 70 goals. This time they looked to strength the defensive line and signed very good players for this positions like keeper Baumann, defender Bigacic or midfield player Schwegler. All these guys are very important and they gave the team more stability in defensive and also put them on the next level. Up front they have and had a lot of potential with their young guns like Firmino, Volland, Elyannoussi, Schipplock or Modeste. The newest is there Szalai who is a great striker too. Coach Gisdol formed a really great team and they work very well together now what means that they are not so easy to beat but they are always dangerous to put some goals behind their opponents.


Statistic:

- Gladbach won only 2 of the 15 games against 1899 (2-5-8).
- They are winless since 3 games against 1899 now (0-2-1).
- Both teams have not lose a single game this season so far.
- This is the third time that BMG is unbeaten after 9 Rounds.
- The two times before they won the Title 70/71 and 76/77.
- BMG played 5 times on sunday and the result was always a draw.
- With Kruse they have the best scorer in their rows with 5 goals and 2 assist.

This is a top match between two teams who are on the same level at the moment. An interesting one and if I have to choose maybe here I think I want to put my cents on 1899 with the positiv HC on our side.

Bayern München - Borussia Dortmund

Here we have the big teams in a top match this evening. Bayern is already ahead of all the other although they talked a lot that they should have problems in the first half of the season. Dortmund is incredible weak and is nothing special at the moment. Above all in league they have a lot of problems but this time they can be much more focused and they are very hot. The big match against Bayern is always a kind of hot atmosphere and they want to continue their run in Munich, of course. They can hope for more space as they had in the past in some league games where all played very defensive minded. This can speak for their fast wings and players. And open up a lot of opportunities for their play anyway. On the other side Bayern want to be as dominant as they can and come over ball posession. We will see what system is the best.

Nevertheless it was not always a game with a lot of goals but this time it can be, above all Bayern is hot to score against Dortmund and on the other side they give a lot of space to Dortmund. Key is that Robben is back and this is the biggest option for Bayern in their play and also he loved to play against Dortmund in the past where he scored some important goals. Dortmund's defensive line is always good for goals as we have seen in the past. Bayern had a lot of luck and Neuer in Gladbach where Borussia showed how to crack Bayern with fast counter attacks but they did not find the net.

- The last time Dortmund stands on bottom half when playing Bayern was 1987 also november.

Hamburger SV - Bayer Leverkusen

The BL Dino had an awful last season and they had a lot of luck in relegation battle against Fürth. This was important to play again in highest league BL but they started again weak, changed the Coach and hope that they can turn things around and mistakes they made in the past they do not make again or in the future now. New strong man Beiersdorfer is working very hard and he gave Zinnbauer a new contract, he should be the man who brings HSV out of the danger zone. The players are there but he must form a team and they must work together. In the upcoming matches they must show that they can fight and bring their best available performance on the pitch to collect as much Points as they can.

The team from Leverkusen played great to beginning of the season but they have lost all their good play and also the style what Coach Schmitt likes. They are searching for the form at the moment and it was mega luck not to knock out of the Cup against a 4th league team from Magdeburg. If Bellarabi, Calhanoglu or Son do not have their best day it is hard for Leverkusen to be successful. They have a lot of work to do and must improve to the last games huge. In central midfield they have a lot of problems anyway because with Rolfes, Reinartz and Castro are almost all out. This can be that Bender must build up with Papadopoulos the double six. Also Jedvaj is suspended.

Statistic

- Hamburg won the last match 2-1 to Leverkusen but before 9 games winless against (0-4-5).
- HSV has the weakest offensive line with only 3 goals scored so far. (BL-Rekord)
- Calhanoglu plays the first time against his former club and it is not an easy and friendly welcome.
- Hakan was one of the important players for HSV last season to avoid relegation.
- Hamburg has only 6 Points collected, the weakest number they ever had.
- Since Leverkusen won 2-0 in Dortmund with fantastic football, they are winless on the road.
- But Bayer is unbeaten since 5 games in BL.
- The only defeat was in Wolfsburg 1-4 where Leverkusen was not on their best level.

The next match between two different teams, ok both played Cup under the week but Leverkusen has much more matches in their legs in the past weeks. Also they changed not much and give important players a rest. With the missing players in central midfield they have a problem too. HSV not the most inspire team but worth a shot.

VfB Stuttgart - VfL Wolfsburg

It looks like we have two different teams on the pitch, Stuttgart very weak and Wolfsburg are aiming for a CL spot this season. But if you take a look a bit deeper it is clear, Stuttgart is average at home but showed an clear uptrend in the past two matches while Wolfsburg collected most of their Points at home but on the road they are average as well. Both have the same record and goals. This can be an interesting match anyway.

Stuttgart had a lot of troubles but after the Leverkusen game they showed a lot of moral and invested a lot. This can be such kind of match what bring the team in better position and they know they can turn matches around. The next big step was the match in Frankfurt where they played much much better but were down with one goal then the comeback but after they took the lead they conceded and conceded but in the end they are the lucky winner and they deserved the win there.
Coach Veh changes only one position in defensive where Rüdiger returns into startling lineup after he was rested in last match.

Of course Wolfsburg is a big number in BL this season but they showed it only at home and on the road they had some problems. Once again is Rodriguez out but he is replaced by Schäfer well above all in the last match he made a good one. In defensive line can be that Hecking change to a more defensive style with Jung instead of Vieirinha. The other thing can be the power as they played under the week Cup.

Statistic:

- Wolfsburg won the last 4 games against Stuttgart and scored in the last 14 against.
- Stuttgart has with 19 goals conceded the weakest defensive line beside Bremen (23).
- In the last 3 games they conceded alone 10.
- Never has VfB  so many goals conceded in this time, only 69/70.
- VfL Wolfsburg won the recent 4 BL games, 5 or more in a season only 2009 (10).
- Stuttgart has the best offensive line after the break with 11 goals scored beside Wolfsburg (10).
- 7 from the last 9 goals scored Stuttgart in second half.
- Stuttgart won only 1 of their last 5 home games in September 1-0 to Hannover.
- Stuttgart lost only 1 of the last 4 games and showed a really uptrend after the Leverkusen match.

Normally this is a clear one if you take a look on the teams but I am not sure about, VfB has a good uptrend while VfL played under the week had only weeks with two match in the past what means that they are more and more tired. The HC on VfB side can be a good choice in my eyes.

FC Schalke 04 - FC Augsburg

This is an important match for Schalke 04 who had a lot of problems in the past but with new Coach Di Matteo they did their job against Hertha 2-0 and Sporting Lisabon 4-3 in CL what was very important game. In Leverkusen they do not want to take part in the game and they tried only to defend the draw but after a nonsense foul from Ayhan decided the game because Leverkusen's Calhanoglu scored from free kick. All talk that they have to improve and maybe change their style of play a bit. This can maybe be a key fact here although at home they are much better this season and they were always able to score above all Huntelaar is the man in attack there. With Boateng they have one players doubtful, if he is not ready Max Meyer move into the starting lineup. Also on bench there are some good and excellent players who can decide such a game.

Augsburg is not known as the best traveller and they had a lot of problems in recent games. Of course they did not play bad but they made to many mistakes and allow easy goals. Therefore they have to find the right balance first and look forward to get sooner or later some results on the road too. At home they are the team who is hard to beat but if we take a look at the opponents with Bremen, Hertha and Freiburg it was a must because they are all on their level maybe. On the road they have almost all big teams with Hoffenheim, Leverkusen, Mainz and Wolfsburg. The only win was in Frankfurt what is also at their level. Schalke can be the next big team although they are behind them. The only good news is that Werner is back from suspension and he can help to be much more dangerous as in the past. Also there is no player like Hahn from last season who can bring the power over the wing and create some dangerous situations, so it is all about Werner and this is too less at the moment.


Statistic:

- Augsburg did not won a single game against S04 so far (0-2-5).
- In all the three home games against FCA scored S05 at least 3 goals.
- But they never kept a clean sheet in these matches (3-1 - 3-1 - 4-1).
- Schalke lost already 4 times in 9 Rounds, last season second round only 3 times.
- FCA lost 5 from their 6 road games this season (Leagues and Cup).

Fortuna Düsseldorf - FC Ingolstadt 04

Top match in 2.Bundesliga between second placed team Fortuna Düsseldorf and leader FC Ingolstadt this Friday. Ingolstadt is already 5 Points ahead of Düsseldorf and this is the big chance for the home team to come closer or close almost the gap. Both teams had not Cup match under the week because they knocked out already in first Round, therefore both had the focus only for this important game. Düsseldorf is very hot for this match as they can end Ingolstadt’s run with 18 unbeaten matches on the road what is a new record in history of 2.Bundesliga. But they are also unbeaten in league this season and this is the next thing what Düsseldorf wants to break. Of course Ingolstadt want continue their good run away and also their unbeaten in league. You can see this match has a lot of potential for a top match.

Compared to the last game in Kaiserslautern 1-1 can Coach Reck count on DEF Tah and STR Benshop who are both back in team training. Both played solid before their injuries and in this case it is more as possible that both are starting today. This means that Soares must on bench and also Erat is the first player who is out of the starting lineup for Benshop. If Benshop comes in Liendl can come over his preferred right wing and create some or get dangerous for himself. Some hopes for Soares are still there because with the second DEF Bodzek is a player doubtful with a slight injury. In attack has Reck as always two good players with Pohjanpalo and Hoffer, Hoffer played in Kaiserslautern from beginning on while Pohjanpalo comes from bench. It is more as open on which he counts today but not so a problem at all. The next change is clear, Rensing returns into the goal after he gets a break in Kaiserslautern although he was well replaced by strong Unnerstall.

This is the first match for Coach Hasenhüttl that he must change his starting lineup. After 9 matches with the same lineup he has to replace injured Lex (He got injured against Heidenheim). For him is Hartmann the first who comes into the starting lineup. After four 1-0 victories they are looking forward for the next coup. That this change is not disadvantage showed Hartmann already against Heidenheim when he gave the assist for the winning goal. In attack Leckie has the flu under the week and it can be that he is not ready today what means the next change. For him are Pekhardt or Lappe the first alternatives for the place in attack.

SV Darmstadt 98 - 1.FC Nürnberg

Interesting match this evening between new promoted Darmstadt and relegated Nürnberg. Both teams with different season start. Darmstadt continues the way they walked through 3rd leagues and celebrated success after success in 2.BL too. They have already 16 Points on their side and they need only a bit more as they have already and they avoid relegation for sure. Nürnberg won the opener but had a hard time and won not much, the last 3 matches they are unbeaten and collected 7 Points. They have maybe found the right way now and if they win this game they can close the gap to 3 Points to the third place and give some new hope and confidence back.

Coach Schuster is talking from David vs. Goliath but on the pitch it speaks a different language and according to the table situation at the moment. He does not want to change much to the last game, where they were very close to win, they conceded the equalizer only in the last seconds and Schuster was not very pleased with the long injury time from the referee. The squad is big enough for some rotation but they count again on the known players. The only change was last Friday already when new signing Balogun played for Sirigu and he maybe has won the fight for the positon at the moment. The last practiced 4-2-3-1 with Gondorf central behind attacker Stoh-Engel will be changed to the known 4-4-2 to give the defensive more stability. Therefore Gondorf moves back to build up the double six. For him Jungwirth is out of the starting lineup while Sailer comes in as second attacker beside Stroh-Engel.  

Not much to say over Nürnberg, Coach Ismael counts the fourth time on the same starting lineup as in recent matches. The left back wing defender Bihr was slightly injured but he returns to the right time and therefore no worries to change anything. This means that both veterans Pinola and Polak sit on the bench again. Maybe not the best for the experienced players but the young guns did their job. According to the last games it would be interesting how Nürnberg handle the game today. In all the three other matches they can count on a compact defensive and go for counter while Darmstadt will never make the game today, this is the thing from Nürnberg today but it can be a difficult one and it is also not their style and their skill. Kaiserslautern and Leipzig made them a favor but we will see what happen this evening.

Bor. M'Gladbach - Bayern München

Top match in Gladbach where Borussia hosts Bayern Munich. This is the first time that the two traditional teams which was big rivals in the 70' years. Maybe this is the first big test for both teams this season in league. If Bayern Munich win this encounter we can wish them all the best for the next title but if Gladbach can take a Point or even win this match it is an open race and the season becomes more interesting as in the past years.

The home side is very strong this season and manager Eberl and Coach Favre has build up a very strong team. They signed very good players and their concept is great. Favre is a hard worker and he try to find the right key to stop Bayern Munich. Of course they played on Thursday but in EL he rotate a lot and gave almost all offensive players a break. The bench players did the job and they won easy 5-0 against a team from Cyprus who never had a chance. Some of the players like Traore made some advertising for the starting lineup. Despite this good performance Coach Favre counts on the same lineup as in the past and look for the right balance they need against giant Bayern.

Also Bayern played under the week and they did it very well and destroyed AS Roma easy. They played great and the offensive worked very well. This time they come to Gladbach without in great shape playing Robben who has a slight injury and travelled not with the team and stay in Munich. This is the chance for Ribery or Shakiri. Ribery is back from injury but at what level he is, is unknown after a few minutes against Bremen or Roma. Robben in this form is hard to replace, of course they have a lot of good players and they can rotate anytime and the play does not stop.

- Bayern Munich won the last 3 matches against Gladbach all.
- 4 wins in a row against Gladbach happened at least 47 years ago.
- Gladbach is the only team without a defeat in league and Cup beside Hoffenheim and Bayern.

VfL Wolfsburg - FSV Mainz 05

An important match for both teams. Both with 14 Points are neighbors in table and both have the chance with a win to climb up. For Mainz it is possible that they get up to second place with a win while Wolfsburg must win with a high margin to get the second place. Of course it depend also what Bor. M'Gladbach do in the sunday evening match against Bayern. Nevertheless both teams can put them in a very good position and look forward what they are able to get this season.

Wolfsburg has the EL game in their legs with the trip to Krasnodar what cost a lot of power too. This maybe can be some disadvantage here but if they can bring a normal performance in their stadium they are sure able to put some goals behind Mainz. Some players are not available but they are still out longer and should not be such a problem right now. The only big lose can be important wing Rodriguez who has some problems. For him the first alternative is Schäfer, of course not a bad replacement but he has not the power forward and is not so dangerous in front of the goal.

Mainz comes to Wolfsburg relaxed and they are fresh enough to go all in from the first minute on. They are doing well and the offensive line is able to score some goals too. They have some very good players in their rows what help them to walk on. But they have also a big lose with the huge injury from Hofmann who is on loan from Dortmund. He is sure out and must be replaced. Some players who can replace him are creative Koo, robust Moritz or Malli. It is up to Coach Hjulmand what player he put up in the starting lineup.


Statistic:

- Against no other team has Mainz scored so many goals as against VfL (28 in 16 games).

1860 Munich - Eintracht Braunschweig

Both teams were named before the season if the experts talk from promotion candidates but both failed huge and both have a lot of problems and a look on the table said all, the situation is getting worse. 1860 with only 9 Points but they changed the Coach already and Braunschweig with 11 Points must try to come out of the bad situation and look forward to get results. It is very important otherwise the season is gone and they play only against relegation what is not their aim.

After Moniz was sucked von Ahlen took over and it was his second or third time on the bench as head coach for 1860 but this time he can work longer, if the management allow him more after two defeats in a row. He started well with 2-0 against Fürth in Derby but failed huge in Sandhausen 0-2 and Aue 0-4. He has to turn things around and appeal to all his players glory. After the 4-3-3 system failed huge they are preparing for a more compact and stable 4-1-4-1 this week. They try to be as hard as they can to beat in defensive. According to the last performances it can be that some changes are happen for this match today. First is the defensive line where Kagelmacher is a big disaster so far and he must on bench, for him the experienced Bülow plays in central back. On the wing Wojtkowiak was also out of form against Aue and he can be replaced by youngster Wittek who brings some freshness in the starting lineup. The offensive will remain unchanged because not many alternatives left as they miss there Rodri and Bedia injured.

After the season starts average in Braunschweig they hoped to get the team rolling but they have failed recently and is getting not much better at the moment. For today they have a big problem in central back where both defenders are out with injuries. Decarli is out for sure while Correia is a big question mark at the moment but normally they do not want to risk here something. Therefore they must change at this position, with old veteran Dogan is a experienced player ready but he has his best times behind him and he is also very slow, beside him can play Henn or midfield player Theuerkauf who is very tall and can be a good choice for long and high balls. Some more changes to the last match are possible. In attack is Ademi and Kruppke an alternative to the weak Bakenga and is more as an option for today. Kruppke is also an option on the wing but he has not the defensive potential as Hedenstad who plays there at the moment. So Coach Lieberknecht has to find the right balance for his team.

Both team has a lot of problems at the moment but 1860 at home has some advantage as Braunschweig is a really weak traveller at the moment and they have their strength more at home too. Overall both are very even at the moment but I trust the home side for this encounter, they conceded only 5 while Braunschweig conceded already 9 in this period. The level ball handicap is a good choice in my eyes for the home team and they never are underdog today.

1.FC Kaiserslautern - Fortuna Düsseldorf

We have a top match ahead between Kaiserslautern and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Both are trying to get back in 1.Bundesliga and they are both on a good way so far. Düsseldorf 2nd and Kaiserslautern 3rd are close to the leader Ingolstadt. Lautern has a much better team as last season and they play really good, at home they are 5-0-0 but on the road they had less success and has not win there. If they start winning on the road too it would be an easy task for them to promote. But of course, it is a long way anyway. But the opponent is on a good way too and they have a very good run with 7 matches unbeaten and they collected 17 Points out of these matches. They are much stronger on the road because they players are more quick and fast and this is the reason for their success away from home. With Benshop, Hoffer, Pohjanpalo and Bolly they have almost sprinter in their rows. According to their good form they are aiming for the win at "Betzenberg".

Coach Runjaic was not very pleased with the last road performance. They had a lot of opportunities to decide the game early but they were not able, ok they took the lead but after a few minutes they conceded the equalizer and in the last minutes they had chances but the last shot was not good enough to bring the ball behind the line. He has to change a bit today according to the fifth yellow card from important central midfield player Karl in Heidenheim. He is suspended today and is a big miss for Lautern anyway. He plans with Jenssen and Ring in central midfield for this game and he hopes that this is a good choice he made. On the offensive wing we have an open position because Jenssen played last weekend there and this time it could be Matmour or Fomitschow. But also Stöger can play there and central in midfield move Demirbay into the starting lineup who plays behind Lakic then. This can be also an option. No more changes expected although almost all are available from the squad, only Musoga and Zellner are out beside Karl today.

After the 1-0 win and the move up to second position Düsseldorf is in their plan now. They have a lot of self confidence and they are doing very well, although the play against Pauli was not the best but this time they can play on the road what is the better place for them. Despite the good run Coach Reck is making an surprise change today. He rotate on keeper position and allow Unnerstall a game and put strong Rensing who played great in the last matches on the bench. This is a big risk before the top match today and no one understand this change but he has mentioned it already before the season that he change some time on this position as well. Again not available is defender Tah and for him plays Soares as against Pauli already. Also a big question mark is behind the offensive trio Liendl, Bellinghausen and Benschop who all had some problems during the week. It seems that Benschop is out with illness today, for him can play Halloran maybe. Also a change in attack is possible where the run from Pohjanpalo stops last monday with 6 goals in a row. For him is Hoffer an equal replacement and against his old club a good reason to put him into the starting lineup. Last season Fortuna won 1-0 there and Hoffer scored the winning goal. This is a good trick from Coach Reck and a good motivation for Hoffer too. 

Greuther Fürth - FSV Frankfurt

We have a match between two sides with different situation. Bottom team FSV comes to Fürth with not many hopes as they have a really bad record there. Since they are promoted 2008 they played 5 times there and they got only a single Points out of these matches and they have a goal difference from 2-12. Fürth, of course would be very pleased with a win here, as they are going to climb up a bit and hold the distance to the top close. Although they have won only 1 of the last 4 matches they are doing very well at home with 4-1-0 and 13-3 goals so far, therefore  hard to beat.

Coach Kramer wants to continue the way they played at home and also result wise. This means that they are going to put some pressure with a win to the teams above and they stay in promotion race for the next weeks. According to their injury problems they must count on the same line up as in Braunschweig last weekend. The alternatives are less but they played a good match there and conceded only in the end two goals what let them end this game in a draw. The performance was good and they can look forward to this match today. Of course they should improve above all Gießelmann and Guilherme are not in best shape but if they can bring their strength on the pitch it is more as possible to win this encounter.

Former Coach Möhlmann returns to Fürth today but he has not the best feeling according to the huge injury problems his team faces. Compared to the 0-1 defeat to Ingolstadt last weekend returns none of the injured players. This means that they must count on the same lineup as in the past and therefore no alternatives. According to the last match where Ingolstadt played very defensive minded they can get here a more active opponent and they can go for counter attacks over Grifo and Schembri but for this both have to improve a lot.

Strong home team Fürth can go for the win here because with FSV they get an opponent who had a lot of problems too. The big scoring problems are one of the problems, also defensive with a lot of mistakes and their squad is not so big to replace all players even. Therefore I see some advantage for Fürth who is the much better side.
