MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

Despite falling to a surprise 2-0 defeat away from home to struggling Darmstadt in their previous league match, Greuther Furth have been one of the in-form clubs in the league lately. Prior to that loss to the Lilies at Bollenfalltor, the Shamrock had won four, drawn two and lost one of their last seven matches in the league. The side have not lost a single home league game so far, winning two and drawing three.

Since beating Duisburg 2-0 in their first away league outing, Bochum are without a win in four league matches on the road, losing one and drawing three. After the international break the team claimed a respectable 0-0 draw with Hamburg at Volkspark Stadium. It was only the third time they had drawn a blank so far this season, while on the road they had scored exactly two goals in each of the previous four league games. They drew again last time out as they hosted Jahn Regensburg in their round 11 fixture, with the contest ending 3-3. However, they could have won that league match as they were enjoying a 3-1 lead until the 70thminute.

This high-quality fixture could swing in any direction, but I’m expecting both to cancel each other out. I'm going with the draw here.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST HALF HAD – DRAW

All ten of Greuther Furth’s goals on their own turf have come in the second half while all of their five home league matches have been level at the interval, with no total goals scored within the first 45 minutes. Back the first half to finish with a draw here too.

HEAD TO HEAD

Both league meetings last term ended 1-1 while each team claimed a home win in league action two years ago.
