This is the second home game for Kaiserslautern where they
hosts 1860 Munich. If you believe the predictions from most of the experts
these two teams are hot promotion candidates. To really end up or be at the
top, Kaiserslautern has to find a way to win games on home ground. They are
already winless since 22 of October 2011. Their fans wait for a long time now
to celebrate with the team a win. Maybe can they finally succeed it today?
The confidence is certainly large after a good start into
the season with 3-3 against Union and the following away win at Aalen. Also
they advanced in Cup against 3rd league team Rostock while they host Bayern
Munich now. Despite recent success coach Franco Foda maybe change one position.
We assume that new signing Baumjohann who came from Schalke 04 get the place
from Vermouth who was not at his best form in past matches. Other changes are
unlikely, however, Bugera is not at 100 percent after his injury while Jessen
should defend on the left again. In attack we have to watch if Bunjaku and
Idrissou can improve their already well functioning interaction even further.
For 1860 several changes are expected. The reason should be
in Cup match where coach Maurer gave Kiraly and Aygün some rest. These two
starters should be back in starting eleven now. In this case keeper Ochs and
defender Schindler are back to the bench. More open are the positions in
offense where Tomasov and Blance could not really convince much. One of the two
maybe can be in the starting lineup but we have to see what coach Maurer want
to play for a system. It is more likely 4-2-3-1 with Lauth as the only one
upfront but it is the more defensive behavior from 1860 on the road. But coach
Maurer indicated also that Halfar gets a chance as starter against his former
club and after a long long injury time. For this maybe both Tomasov and Blanco
are on bench as well. But let’s see what happen today.
