1.FC Nürnberg - Bor. M'Gladbach

Nürnberg has to replace a lot of players for this encounter. According to news they are without Ginczek, Hasebe, Chandler, Nilsson, Gebhardt all injured, Pogatetz and Stark are injured while Petrak, Feulner and Campana are doubtful.

Gladbach without big worries as they miss only Stranzl and Wendt.

Important match for Nürnberg who has a lot of problems. First one is that they miss a lot of players and it is not out if the doubtful players can play today. This is almost the last squad who is available for Coach Verbeek but he is very pleased that they can get here some. The next problem is that Hamburg won last night and overcome them in table. This put Nürnberg down to place 16 and the situation is getting worse now. Third problem is maybe that they play only against teams from upper table and this is not the best sign at the moment but they did much better against such teams against teams in their region. Therefore the hope should be there despite all the problems. I remember very well, they outplayed Gladbach in first match and they lead to half time only 1-0 but it should have been much higher as they high the post and bar and so on. Second half was different, Gladbach equalized and due to an own goal from youngster Stark they came on losing way and in the end lost 1-3. Normally they should have won this match. But they can turn things around, they play bad today and win !!!

First half of the season all is running for Gladbach but after the winter break they had a lot of problems too and the offensive play was not so fresh as to begin. Also the offensive players has not the form the need for a successful play. But in the last weeks they showed some uptrend but this was lost the last two matches. Ok, they won against Hamburg last weekend but in first half they did very hard and Hamburg controlled the match very well, and one week before they were totally harmless and without any idea in Frankfurt. So it is not all good in Gladbach and some of the players who are on the bench are a bit angry and make some trouble like Xhaka and Mlapa. Also the transfer ban for Barcelona makes some noise in Gladbach as Ter Stegen maybe can not sign there. A lot of rumors now and this help not much to play successful soccer.

Normally this is a clear thing for the away side but I think that Nürnberg can put out all they have. Hopefully they can bring Gladbach in trouble.
