MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
Dresden have been in patchy form recently, with their latest league outing ending in a narrow 1-0 loss at Hamburg. The team have lost five, drawn one and won two of their last eight league fixtures and avoiding relegation will be their number one priority right now. Maik Walpurgis’ side are well off the pace in 12th position at present, with only a nine-point lead over Sandhausen in 16th.

After losing just one of their previous 14 league games (six wins, seven draws), Jahn Regensburg have now fallen to back-to-back defeats. The side were beaten 2-0 by Holstein Kiel away from home two weeks ago before being thrashed 3-0 by Bielefeld at Continental Arena last time out. Achim Beierlorzer’s team are currently sitting in ninth place on 29 points, trailing the top three by eight points.

This promises to be an intriguing matchup at DDV Arena, which could go either way. However, I’m backing Jahn Regensburg to pile more misery on Dresden with an away win in East Germany.

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – JAHN REGENSBURG
Jahn Regensburg have scored first in three of their last five away league matches, picking up eight points along the way. Back the away side to open the scoring here, too.

HEAD TO HEAD

Dresden are unbeaten in their last nine league encounters against Jahn Regensburg, winning seven and drawing two.
