MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: AWAY WIN
Dresden may have been unable to extend their unbeaten streak under new boss Christian Fiel last weekend but they have still been in good form of late. The 3-1 loss against Sandhausen at Hardtwald Stadium was the team’s first league defeat since losing 2-0 at Darmstadt back in February, winning one and drawing four league matches during that time. On home ground they are unbeaten in four league matches, but those have all been draws while they have claimed only four league victories in front of their own crows all season, drawing five and losing five.
Cologne remain at the top of the league table after a 1-1 draw with second-placed Hamburg at Rhein Energie Stadium in the league last week. Since falling to a shock 3-2 league defeat at in-form Paderborn in mid-February, Cologne have won six league matches in a row before registering back-to-back draws with rock-bottom Duisburg and their fellow promotion contenders. Cologne head into this fixture unbeaten in eight league outings.
No one in the league have picked up more points on the road than Cologne (29) so far. I am backing the leaders to secure another away win.
SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE - COLOGNE
Cologne have scored the opening goal in four of their last five away league outings. I think they will be the first team on the scoresheet again.
HEAD TO HEAD
Cologne won 8-1 on home ground in the teams’ most recent league meeting earlier this season, which was also their only league encounter in the last five years.
