MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN
Aue have been in poor form of late, winning just two, drawing two and losing five of their last nine league games. However, their recent 1-1 league draw at promotion candidates Hamburg has been their only point in their last five league matches, having lost the other four. With four league matches left to play and sitting only six points above the relegation zone, the Viola could still do with several more points and a win here would come in handy. However, they have won just one of their last six home league matches, drawing one and losing four.
League wins have also been hard to come by for Bochum of late as Robin Dutt’s troops have picked up just two victories in their previous 11 league fixtures (three draws, six losses). However, since losing two and drawing one, the team are unbeaten in their last two league matches, winning one and drawing one. Last time out, Bochum were held to a 0-0 draw away from home by Darmstadt.
Bochum have not won an away league game since beating leaders Cologne 3-2 at Rhein Energie Stadium shortly before Christmas, drawing two and losing four along the way. I can see them crashing to another away league defeat this weekend and with Aue still in need of points, I’m backing the home win here.
SECOND PREDICTION: CORRECT SCORE – 2-1
Two of Aue’s last three wins in league action have been secured by a 2-1 scoreline while Bochum have lost their last away league game 2-1, too. I can see Aue sneaking another 2-1 victory.
HEAD TO HEAD
Aue have not beaten Bochum in league action over the course of the last five years, losing five and drawing three of their last eight league meetings.
