Sunday 2.BL update !!!
Greuther Fürth - SV Sandhausen
The situation is clear, Fürth must win an hope that Paderborn lose Points against Aalen. Is this is the case they are set to climb up to 2nd place and go directly to 1.BL. After last season's relegation this would be the immediately return for Fürth. But first they have to play the 90 minutes and look that they get the win. Overall they should be prepared for this match and Coach Kramer finds the right words and tactic anyway.
Sandhausen is safe and they play for nothing so far, the pressure is gone and they play more or less to easy in the past and they were not able to win match. The players are maybe all in holiday modus but they talk that they want to make it as hard as they can and maybe give Paderborn some help too. But I doubt that they can turn things around what they have lost in the past weeks.
SC Paderborn - VfR Aalen
Surprise team from Paderborn stands short before their first BL promotion. This is the best what this club has ever seen and they want to let dreams come true and play against the big teams next season. Some of the experts said already that this team from Paderborn has no chance in BL but we will see. Overall the team is working well and their nerv are all well, and they are strong enough mental wise what we have seen last sunday. They never let any doubt that they lose in Aue, no they win easy but it was also hard work in some periods and luck too.
Aalen is in good shape and should be a hard opponent today. They managed to win some matches in the past and this is maybe the key that they are in form and let not allow such a trend as Sandhausen did. Therefore it can be very close for Paderborn today.
Fortuna Düsseldorf - 1.FC Kaiserslautern
Wow, Fortuna is coming big in the end and they started a great run under interim coach Reck now. If this run has begun a bit earlier it would have been close to the first places maybe. But at the moment they are far away, nevertheless the form is there and they want continue their way. A lot of players must leave the club and got their last match today. Despite this it should not affect them to much.
The big promotion candidate failed again this season, they are to harmless in some matches and maybe disappointed a lot. But they have still the chance for the 3rd place to go to the play off games with Hamburg. But for this reason, Fürth must dop Points and they should win with bigger margin. Maybe they push from beginning on and allow Düsseldorf some space, but they must try all in the end but the chance is less here.
Dynamo Dresden - Arminia Bielefeld
This two team play for the last and only last chance, Place 16. Dresden with some advantage here, they play at home, they have a big crowd in their back and they should only try not to lose and all is going their way. On the other side Bielefeld needs a win here, nothing else ..... so, if this match is close and goes into the finial decision, Bielefeld must open all and push. This is maybe a good opportunity for some in running bets at the end.

Saturday 1.BL update III
FC Schalke 04 - 1.FC Nürnberg
Both teams in must need here, Schalke need one Point to safe 3rd place while Nürnberg must win to have a chance for the important 16. Place. If they reach this they go to Play off games with 2.BL team, which is at the moment Fürth. In this case it is a big "Franken" Derby with hot atmosphere and a really great one as well but before they must win.
Schalke did their job but has some weak periods in the past and this was the key that they need one Point at the last match now. Without Huntelaar they must look forward who should score here but with Farfan they have a good player back in training under the week. Also some others are back. They are needed as the young guns were all a bit tired at the end after so many matches for them.
Huge blow for Nürnberg, they must win but with what players, they miss 1st keeper Schäffer almost the whole defending line is suspended with Pinola, Chandler and Plattenhardt. This means a lot of changes and they were not the best in the past. Once again they must win how it is not necessary.
VfL Wolfsburg - Bor. M'Gladbach
Both are still in fight for the CL place. But only a win can hold the aim alive. This means a very open match if one side take the lead and maybe a good choice for some in running bets.

The team from Coach Weinzierl played a good season and they are hungry enough to go the last step and hold the pressure on Mainz high. Some of the players had some problems form wise in the past but they are back now. They looked much better above all last week they won at least 1-0 in Braunschweig but they controlled the whole game and maybe should have won higher.
After Frankfurt reached the target and stayed away from relegation battle they are more or less far away from good form. Although Coach Veh talked he wants to leave with some wins above all at home last weekend but it was different. They are far away from their best and they need to refill their batteries. The EL season has cost them a lot of power and the relegation battle too.
FSV Mainz 05 - Hamburger SV
Big match for both, FSV need a win for European spot while Hamburg has to win if they do not want to hope that Nürnberg or Braunschweig does not win. According to the situation it can be a very interesting match where both teams have a lot to play for. Mainz was good and in good shape at least above all at home they were hard to beat anyway. Also they kept a lot of clean sheets there in recent matches. Coach Tuchel maybe knows what is to do to get this important last win.
On the other side HSV is close before to die. They have the bad situation in table and also with over 100 Mio. Minus a lot to lose here. If they lose and one of the other teams Braunschweig or Nürnberg win they go down directly. If none of the other wins, they have the chance in two matches to stay in 1.BL. It would be so important for this club city fans and so on. If they must go down it is hard to come back and with a lot of minus on the bank it is hard too. Maybe the license is not safe too. With Coach Slomka they lost 4 road matches in a row and if we include the Hannover road disaster too he has a lot more road loses. But this do not count now, the only thing what counts is this match today. Some good news is that maybe top striker Lasogga can play here.

1899 want to bring this season to a good end and celebrate with their fans. This should bring them in good position to show their national Coach that they are in good form and that he can count on them.

Hannover after having a lot of trouble after the derby lose to Braunschweig are on a good way at least and they are coming out of all the dangerous situations. They got the results and played better in the past matches. Nevertheless Coach Korkut want more and this is the next win at home now.
Freiburg on the other side after winter break with great play and they did their job. The team is working very well and this was the result from all. They are far away from relegation trouble and this was the key from them. With a relaxed play they can be able to get here something above all they have not lose the last 5 against Hannover. Overall they are unbeaten in 10 matches to North Clubs.
Hertha BSC Berlin - Borussia Dortmund
Again, both play for nothing, Hertha maybe can get a better position with a win but they can also lose some places if they lose here. It would be the last match for striker Ramos who left to Dortmund to next season. Nevertheless they want to celebrate with their home fans and bring a bit more on the pitch as they did in the past as they won not much at home in recent matches.
The 2nd giant in Germany Dortmund is already safe on position 2 play only to hold the rhythm high and give all a good feeling for next weekend when the big Cup Final takes place in Berlin again. They can take some atmosphere one week earlier as Bayern maybe and they want to bring the job to an end for striker Lewandowski who left to Bayern. This is maybe the most interesting match from all, because both play for something. FCK must win to get maybe a last chance to next week for climbing up to 3rd place at the end and maybe a happy end after a disappointing season. They had not the success they want and therefore it is hard to believe that this team get not promoted. On the other side Dresden is on the same position as last season, they must look forward to get as much points as they can because Bielefeld close behind and if they overcome them it is clear they are close to get relegated. But they have a good chance to turn things around if they lose today if they win last match at home to Cottbus but it depends all on Bielefeld if they lose and Bielefeld win, then Bielefeld has it in their own hands. Let's see what Dresden is able to bring today.

Saturday 1.BL Update !!!
Eintracht Braunschweig - FC Augsburg
The home team comes to this encounter with a lot of self confidence, they need the win here to have a chance to avoid relegation. But a win is a must otherwise the chance is gone but it depends also on the other teams. Augsburg should also win to have a chance on the 7th place and for the EL next season. With a win they can put a lot of pressure on Mainz, even more if Mainz lose today in Gladbach.
1.FC Nürnberg - Hannover 96
This is a must win for Nürnberg to have the chance for the 16th place. With a win they have it but after 8 matches without any success it is hard to believe in this team. They changed the Coach before the last match but they lost 0-2 again. All hopes now on this hope game against Hannover who plays for nothing. Hannover was in trouble but they managed it and they are out and safe now. Club has a lot to play for and also some players returns today to help.
Hamburger SV - Bayern München
If Hamburg lose, Nürnberg or Braunschweig win, it is almost the relegation for HSV. The team who never must go down and they are the team who have played always in BL since start on. This is a must win for Nürnberg to have the chance for the 16th place. With a win they have it but after 8 matches without any success it is hard to believe in this team. They changed the Coach before the last match but they lost 0-2 again. All hopes now on this hope game against Hannover who plays for nothing. Hannover was in trouble but they managed it and they are out and safe now. Club has a lot to play for and also some players returns today to help.

Hannover 96 - VfB Stuttgart

- Against no other team collected H96 so much wins (18.), only against Frankfurt and Lautern.
- Since 6 matches is H96 unbeaten at home against Stuttgart (3-3-0).
- Stuttgart's last win in Hannover was 2006 with 2-1, this is 7 years ago.
- Stuttgart got 7 Points out of the last 3 matches, only BvB (9) more.

Above all captain Stindl played great and he was the man who scored and give with positiv action on the field some good sign for the other team mates. Ok, they miss two guys but only was starter with Bittencourt the other Prib was only bench player in the past. But nevertheless they can replace him as with Husti, Stindl, Ya Konan, Schlaudraff are some other who can make the difference here.
Big step for Stuttgart last sunday with the win against Schalke but Schalke was not on the pitch on this day. They were far away from their best form and they looked very tired. This was an easy walk over for Stuttgart and the next task is a bit harder for them in my eyes. It is a big battle for the future in BL. The pressure is a bit less as they made some Points between them and the other teams below. Therefore they can play a bit more relaxed and look what they are able to get here. The team should be almost the same as last sunday therefore not much to change for Stevens.
Sorry but I can not accept Hannover 96 as underdog here, one of the best home team from the last 3 years in BL underdog against Stuttgart who was not able to get much in Hannover. Hannover who has at home a record from 26-19-7 is never such underdog. From 52 matches they lost only 7 this is only a bit more as 13%. Only the top teams has such good numbers and at home Hannover is a top team for me and therefore I have to take this.

With 4 matches to play they have all in their hand but if they continue the losing run it would be very hard for them to avoid this bad situation. For today they have a very hard opponent and this need all their effort and maybe go over their normal level to be on a level with they can compete with FCK.
Both teams are in a situation where they must go for the Points and this makes this match so attractive for me. I am sure if the first goal comes the others are coming too. Despite important missing above I mean that they are fighting hard today to get some out of the match. The power should be there and the supporters as well and their biggest hope is Calhanoglu.
The team from VW town has a lot to play for this season and they want the biggest success after the title some years ago. This is the CL spot. The players are there and the money anyway with VW as Sponsor. Therefore they have only to walk on but the results must come in the last match otherwise they are only in the EL competitions. They played not bad in Dortmund but missed too many good chances and if they had not missed all these it would have been much closer and maybe they can stand in the Cup final against Bayern. But the truth is different. Coach Hecking has to motivate his team new and then go out and try to do it better as in Dortmund.
Close match expected where HSV can be a hard opponent in my eyes despite the awful record against Wolfsburg.

SC Freiburg - Bor. M'Gladbach

They players must invest much more as in the past and they play much to slow, it is not the same fast play from first half of the season were they self confidence was high and maybe all went their way. It is much different now and therefore they have to invest must more to get a good outcome or result. This can be a hard nut today. They are not the best traveller anyway and this can be a big problem too. If the offensive line has not the best day it would be very hard to get some in a very close stadium who is known for the hot atmosphere.
I am going with the better in form team here and I trust Freiburg today. I think they play very well and this can be the important step to safe them 3 Rounds before the end of the season.

Although the statistic is very bad against Schalke in the last matches I believe that they are able to bring Schalke here in some trouble.
What a run from Schalke in second half of the season, they did very well and they are almost unbeatable at the moment but the team is very young and in the last match we saw that some of the young players are more and more tired. This is normal and sooner or later they have not the power that they bring a match successfully to an end. Once again a lot of missing and some of them are important. Ok, Boateng returns here and this can give Coach Keller the opportunity that Meyer can get a rest. But players like Ayhan must play although he plays with some slight injury problems. According to less alternatives it is a must that this youngster play.
I am keen that Bremen can have a chance here, maybe to win but at least to get a draw and this is what I am looking for. Despite the good run from Schalke, I said it already that the players are tired above all the youngsters.

Derby time and I think that this can be very close, both teams are in good shape but I think that Mainz has not so much problems with players and they have not players who came back as Frankfurt. I think it is good that Meier and Russ returns but they missed the last matches and this is maybe not the best.
