Bayer Leverkusen - Bayern München

Big match this evening between two top teams from upper table. At the moment there are only one or two teams who can follow Bayern Munich. First one Borussia Dortmund as we saw in the recent seasons, but also Bayer Leverkusen. Of course they were far away last season but this was also Dortmund. This season it looks a bit different as all three are almost on the same level, of course only table wise. Bayern style of play is much better at the moment and they are very strong anyway. But Leverkusen has hurt them last season, they won in Munich 2-1 and this was long time ago that they got here something. Maybe, it was a lot of luck if you take a look at the goals they scored but they won, this was the last defeat Bayern Munich had in the league. Exactly one year ago, it was also in October. Can Bayern Munich continue their unbeaten run in 1.Bundesliga or celebrate Leverkusen their 5th home win in a row?

Bayer Leverkusen started never such successful into the season as this one, they have 6 wins and only one defeat and are only one point behind leader Borussia Dortmund 19 Points and Bayern Munich 19 Points. This is their best start in BL history ever, also they are unbeaten in their Arena since Round 26 from last season where Bayern Munich won 2-1 there. Coach Hyppia has formed a very good and balanced playing team, they were always able to find a way to beat their opponents so far. The wings are in good form above all Sam who is one of the key players in Leverkusen's play. They love it to overcome their opponents with fast and quick counter attacks. This is the key at the moment, and they can count on them again today as for sure Bayern Munich try to control the match and have as much ball possession as they can. This is the 1st big test for the Bayer team this season in BL. International they had some but with average success. Against ManU they were not such good and lost easy with a lot of mistakes in defensive as well. Last one they won with a bit luck in the end 2-1 vs San Sebastian. It would be interesting if the defensive line can hold the pressure from Bayern Munich away and how fast they can find the way for counters. If they can come behind the defensive line from Bayern Munich with their counters they can hurt Bayern. The weapons are there with Sam and Son.

After a average start Bayern Munich plays better and better and Coach Guardiola understands it very well what is to do that his team can go step for step forward. As I wrote many times to beginning it was not so stable in defensive from them but after the national break and maybe some system change in midfield Bayern's motor working very well and they are very hard to beat. With Lahm, Kroos and Schweinsteiger the Coach counts on three creative midfield players who rotates a lot and let the opponent only run after and also do not allow him access to the game. This is more as disappointing for Bayern's opponents so far. After the national break, Bayern played from match to match better and they understand Guardiola's system more. The highlight was last wednesday as they played such a great match against ManCity who is called top team in Europe with a lot of big players but they never had any chance there. If Bayern Munich continues this style of play and take step after step they are getting better and better in the upcoming weeks, month. The defense play was also much better in the recent matches that they have not many weak points at the moment. It seems that they are very hard to beat and with a lot of great players in their squad it is very easy to replace some. Of course some key players there who are hard to be replaced but overall it is great squad.

If Bayern Munich can control the match and can move the ball they did in Manchester I think this can be a clear away win despite Leverkusen's good form and home strength. GL
