Union Berlin - SV Sandhausen

On paper, a clear thing is the match between Union Berlin and SV Sandhausen, but only on paper. The team from Coach Schwartz surprised in recent weeks where they won against Bochum, Kaiserslautern and 1860 already. They were only beaten one time in their past 6 and this says all what Coach Neuhaus said on the press conference. It is absolutely amazing how Sandhausen is playing this season, this has nothing to do with them from last. They are absolutely compact and very hard to crack, therefore they have to invest a lot today and all must work against the ball as well. Only if they find the right balance about this, they can leave the pitch as winner. Of course Neuhaus has respect but he does not underestimate them and he knows what is to do. Also he knows the strength of his team this season and they doing really well. He accepts the favorite role and he is absolutely sure if we do serious work we win today.
In terms of the starting lineup Union Coach Neuhaus can choose from almost all and has spoiled of choice even. Only long term injured Waseem Razeek and Björn Jopek are out while Mario Eggimann working on his comeback already. Ahead of the game Neuhaus in particular can not define whether he brings Adam Nemec or Simon Terodde. Nemec had remained rather weak in recent games and scored not in the past three while Terodde was always good as Joker and brought a lot of pep into Union’s play if he stands on the pitch. He can refer on two goals in recent four matches but overall he started only twice from beginning this season. It could be interesting what decision Neuhaus makes in offensive but also on some other positions. But nevertheless most of them remain unchanged.
Sandhausen’s team travelled very optimistic to Berlin. They know that it is always a great atmosphere at “Alte Försterei” but nevertheless Union could only pick 6 from 12 Points at home so far. The confident are there because Sandhausen played much more solid, constant and successful as last one were they were at the bottom of the table. This is because of team spirit, discipline they have therefore they do not want to come back with empty hands from this game. He can not plan with Tim Kister, Nico Klotz, Lukas Kübler and Radoslav Zabavnik who are all injured and not available. Although Björn Kluft returns into the training he needs still some time and is not ready yet while Matthias Zimmermann should return after the international break. A question mark still stands behind striker Jovanovic who was not able to train because of knee problems but travelled with the team. But it is anyway a big question if Coach Schwartz counts on the offensive system he has used against VfL Bochum with two strikers. It is more possible that he returns to the old system which is more defensive minded with one striker and two central midfield players. If, Stefan Kulovits returns into the starting lineup and starts from beginning again. Some options are on bench with Danny Blum and Nicky Alder for the offensive. This gives Coach Schwartz a lot of more to choose.
