Werder Bremen - SC Freiburg

A lot has changed in Bremen in recent years. Their former good times are gone and they are only an average team in BL now. It is long time ago where they played on the big international stage. It was a great platform for some of their excellent players which could all recommend for higher tasks. This platform is gone and they have to build up a team with much less money as the actual form and table position showed. They never reached the level from former years. Also Coach Ikone Schaaf left the club after many years on the sideline with a lot of ups and downs. Therefore new Coach Dutt and Sports Manager Eichin have the pressure to bring the golden times back to “Weserstadium”. Maybe sooner or later or with some luck they can but it is very hard to get good players with less money as they do not have the money from international matches. So all big clubs like Bayern, Dortmund and so on has huge advantage. Nevertheless they have to do their best and this is actual average with 3 wins – 2 draws – 3 defeats. Above all their low yield of scoring is a huge problem this season so far. They scored only 9 goals in 8 matches this looks much to less for higher ambitions. Although if they win always 1-0 it is enough but on the other side they showed some weakness in defensive above all in their last home matches against 1.FC Nürnberg where they allowed 3 goals against a normally harmless offensive from Nürnberg. Of course this was only one match but showed that the balance between offensive and defensive is not the best at the moment. New singed striker Di Santo is still suspended while Bargfrede and Ignovski miss with injuries. Maybe the break was to the right time and some players recover from injury what gives Dutt more options for the starting lineup.

Last year high flying Freiburg is back at the bottom of facts. Of course it was more as expected as with 5 of their best players they lost almost their whole offensive from last season. I wrote many times already about so not to bother you more. After 8 Rounds they are still winless this season and they have to reload their batteries at the national break which was to the right time for them. They had a lot of matches (Euro League and League) in recent weeks and this cost a lot of power because of their small squad. The upcoming weeks are very hard and they have almost two matches every week what is not very helpful for them according to their league place. Hopefully they can turn things around and get a good position till winter break that they can take their focus on league only 2014 and avoid relegation. At the moment it speaks not much for them as they make to many mistakes in defensive and looked more as harmless in offensive. Coach Streich stands always behind his team and he trust all but after the last matches he is more as mad about the performances from some players and he asks for some reaction. Above all the big mistakes in defensive must end, with stupid defending and red cards they allowed easy goals for their opponents and this cost a lot of points so far. Maybe they can take the two weeks to work on some of these problems. Although with Hedenstad, Terrazzino and Mujdza are only a few players out there are still some problems for the match in Bremen. Because of some unknown personal situations as with Hanke (broken hand), Sorg are two players doubtful. If they can not play Coach Streich has to think about some positions. Also in defensive is not clear who plays beside Ginter, Krmas or Höhn. Some good news are the returning of Darida and Pilar into team training. Both should be on bench.

Ok, normally this one looks more as under from the numbers but I am not sure about. The recent meetings produced an average from 3,93 goals and it looks like if both plays against each other the visor from both are open. Maybe this can be the case as well, above all if one team take the lead early this match can be stretched wide open.

Recommend Bet: OVER 2,5 @ 1,84 (3 Units)
