MATCH PREVIEW
MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN
Urs Fischer has certainly had a positive impact at Union Berlin since arriving last summer, guiding his team to 11 wins in 24 league matches thus far, along with 11 draws and two defeats. In fact, no other side has lost as few league fixtures as the team from the German capital while they also boast the best home record with eight wins and four draws. Trailing leaders Cologne by four points, they proved their promotion credentials once again last weekend as they beat fifth-placed Holstein Kiel 2-0 on the road.
Ingolstadt were poor in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to leaders Cologne at home. Prior to that, the Schanzer were beaten 1-0 by St. Pauli away from Audi Sportpark. Jens Keller’s side have won just three of their previous 20 fixtures in the league, drawing five and losing 12. Nevertheless, they have recently managed to leave the bottom of the table and are currently sitting in 17th with 19 points, three points from safety.
Union Berlin have been in remarkable form all season and should have no trouble when it comes to seeing off a struggling side such as Ingolstadt. This should be an easy win for the home side.
SECOND PREDICTION: ODD/EVEN – EVEN
Union Berlin have won three of their last four league victories by a two-goal margin. This looks like it could be a comfortable win for them, so have a punt on even total goals to be scored in the hosts' favour.
HEAD TO HEAD
Union Berlin have lost just one of their last eight league meetings against Ingolstadt, winning three and drawing four.
