Bayern München - FSV Mainz 05

Before the national break Bayern Munich took the lead and they are one Point ahead of Dortmund and Leverkusen now. Despite their draw in Leverkusen they climbed on top according to Dortmund’s amazing defeat against Gladbach. But this corresponds exactly to their current level of performance in the past matches. Both last games in CL and League against ManCity and Leverkusen showed which way Bayern is going. Coach Guardiola understands to mix both systems from Bayern and Barca and gave his new team an absolutely dominant style of play. They overcome both opponents with an excellent pressing system and they allowed not much space and hold the pressure high. That is why the opponents could only extricate long balls but they came back immediately and Bayern put a lot of pressure on them. But only in Manchester they understand to finish their good actions and good style of play. Some days later they started again very well and Leverkusen did not know how to play against because they were not able to break free. They had no weapon against this good play from Bayern but got a lucky and absolutely undeserved draw. It was only one way and this match could have been easily 4,5,6-1 for Bayern but they were not able to finish they good attacks they created while Leverkusen scored with the only attack they had in 90 minutes. Never saw such a dominating team but scoring only one goal but had incredible 10 misses. If Bayern Munich continue this way of play and work hard on their finish it is very hard to beat them. Above all in 90 minutes they are always able to create a lot with such excellent players and with their flexible play anyway. Bayern has almost all available, the only absent guys are Thiago, Martinez, Shakiri and Badstuber. Götze returns already and played some minutes in national team where he scored. Nevertheless Coach Guardiola can choose from a big squad who gives him a lot of options.

To beginning it was amazing what FSV Mainz 05 brought on the pitch and the result speaks all for them. But after losing their first match they are on a huge downtrend and they are winless since ??? matches. Their self confidence and mood is not the best at the moment and all are very angry above all Coach Tuchel. He expects much more from his team and he was not always pleased with the performances of some players in the past. Nevertheless their last match was an entertaining one because they came from 0-2 behind but were able to equalize in injury time to 2-2 and had the winning chance in the last seconds too. Of course this would have been too much for them. Overall again an average performance only in the end they weak up and tried all with a lucky end. Despite all their play looked to limited and they played to fearful. It is all about Müller, if their top scorer has not his best day or got not the actions he needs it looks bleak for Mainz. They depend too much on him at the moment but it seems he has also lost his form from the matches to begin. But of course with Müller, Choupo Muting they have to good and fast wings which both try to hurt Bayern. Ok, Müller is a big doubt as he got injured in training under the week and this can be that Coach Tuchel risks not to much here as he rest his top scorer maybe. Also not out is if Svensson and Baumgartlinger move into the starting lineup after his long injury time. Both recover this week but should be on bench first.

After the break it is always hard to come in running but I think Bayern Munich has the potential to push from beginning on. The team understand Guardiola's tactic more and more and they will go for the ball possession again. Additional they will press a lot therefore not a lot of space for Mainz combinations and faults will come sooner or later. If Bayern continues their play from ManCity or Leverkusen I am very confident that they win with a high margin here. They wasted to much or was unlucky in their last league matches, this turn around now.

Normal I do not like to jump on such high HC's but I give it a try, if you are not so brave you can wait for in running and get maybe a better line if the match run some time goalless. I believe that Bayern win with minimum 2 goals margin today !!!
