1.FC Kaiserslautern - Dynamo Dresden

Just before the winter break Kaiserslautern lost a lot on the two teams ahead of them Braunschweig and Hertha who are in the fight for a direct promotion place already almost hurry away. It was very important that they won in Munich on Monday because of many teams behind them got also points and are on the way to close the gap. Of course they are 5 points ahead right now but they have not much left. If they want to save third place they have to win even. The pressure is high now and in front of their fans they have to continue their way. Dynamo Dresden started with 0-0 at home against relegation rival MSV Duisburg. This was not enough for them to get out of danger zone as they have still 4 points to VfL Bochum. More or less they should not lose here as it would be difficult to close the gap anyway.

I mentioned it already in an post on Monday that Kaiserslautern signed a lot and almost all were in starting lineup against 1860 Munich. But not all were as good as they should and therefore many guys have room for improvement. If they can do this today is not decided as coach Foda maybe change some as with Baumjohann an important midfielder returns from illness. In this case he should be set as playmaker while Köhler has to change on the left or right wing. One of the first candidate for bench should be youngster Weiser who played not on his best level on Monday. Because of some many options are available for coach Foda maybe more changes are possible. Also Azaouagh is an candidate to move on bench, wherefore Bunjaku move back as offensive wing and his place beside Idrissou can gets Hoffer. The defensive should remain unchanged.

New Dynamo coach Peter Pacult was very pleased with the first match and the draw as he does not want to change much. Although he has to make some as with sixer Losilla is an important man out with his 5th yellow card. For him oldie Fiel hopes to get a chance and move in now. In offensive maybe gets youngster Müller a chance again although he was very weak against MSV Duisburg. This is probably not to be expected due to lack of alternative, because new striker Khlebosolov who should play beside Pote is not ready and was not even in the squad against MSV.

Probably lineup:
1. FC Kaiserslautern: Sippel – Dick, Torrejon, Heintz, Löwe – Karl – Köhler, Baumjohann, Bunjaku – Hoffer, Idrissou
Dynamo Dresden: Kirsten – Gueye, Bregerie, Savic, Schuppan – Ouali, Fiel, Streker, Kempe – Müller, Poté
