Borussia Dortmund - Eintracht Frankfurt

Wow, the team from coach Jürgen Klopp started with a big exclamation mark into 2013. They won very easy against Bremen 5-0, Nürnberg 3-0, Leverkusen with some problems and luck 3-2 and then lost to Hamburger SV 1-4. It was the second lose against this team from the north. Of course, maybe they were a bit unlucky or were penalized by the referee. They started well, took the lead and all think again that they win this but Hamburg was not shocked much and came back and equalize short after fall behind. And as Lewandowski got the red card the match was more or less decided pro Hamburg. They were very aggressive and played much better as against Frankfurt. Some said that the red card was to much but it was more or less a factual decision of the referee. Sure, it would be a huge blow for Dortmund because if you have seen the match against Donezk you know why. Lewa is in top form and is always able to score but he is suspended now. Replacement can be Schieber who gets only some minutes so far. But nevertheless coach Klopp can change a bit a let Reus play as the one upfront as with Kuba and Götze behind of him can create good opportunities and hurt Frankfurt’s defensive. Overall what they played against Donezk was very good and their offensive looked unstoppable, as their players are such good that they are always able to get dangerous at any time.

Surprise team from Frankfurt played a very good season so far. They look very stable although they play more an open style. This means that they are not too focused on their defensive and count more on their offensive. They like more to win matches 3-2 or something like that as to play 1-0 or 2-0. Of course the last two matches they played 2-0 and 0-0 but sometimes days like this are there. Against Hamburg their new striker Lakic on loan from Wolfsburg scored twice but failed one week later as they were the weaker side and also lucky because Nürnberg had the much better opportunities to win this encounter. But they have a match ahead who is very different to the match against Nürnberg. Nürnberg stands very deep and close and allowed Frankfurt not much while Dortmund gives a lot of space for their counter attacks as they will play for sure more open and try to overcome Frankfurt. This is their chance here and they can show that they are able to compete at this level. Please take in mind that the first match of these teams were a big spectacle and it ends 3-3.

This encounter should be very open, with both always in a position to score goals. Sure Dortmund at home will try to make pressure, while Frankfurt defends and go for fast dangerous counter attacks. The record speaks for Dortmund as they won / score a lot against Eintracht in their stadium in the past. The weapons are there although BvB best striker Lewandowski will miss but a lot of dangerous players on the pitch anyway. I like the goals here since both are able to score and if one side can take the lead the match will be wide open and gives a lot of opportunities. GL
