Jahn Regensburg - Hertha BSC Berlin

Huge difference in table and also squad wise between both. Regensburg wants to avoid relegation, what would be a very hard task as they are far away from safe zone but their relegation opponents failed almost all this weekend and therefore they are in a good position again, but only if they win this one. Hertha BSC Berlin has only one aim and this is to get promoted and they give all to get it done as only this count in Berlin and for their fans.

Many changes has been made by Jahn Regensburg through the winter break. First they signed a new coach and he is known in the world as he was former national coach from Poland Frantisek Smuda. He should get the team back into the right position and maybe give them more stability. In some friendly matches they played well and were much more organized as in their last league matches. He worked a lot on their position play and also on their condition. Second step was to sign some new players who can help immediately and strength the team a lot. For this they signed keeper Timo Ochs from 1860 Munich who should be in goal today, young wing Carlinhos from Bayer Leverkusen U23 should also be in starting lineup because of their problems on this position with injuries. Next guys are midfielder Julian de Guzman and striker Koke, if these both are in starting lineup is not sure yet as they are signed very late and they had not much time to train with the team as they arrived late. Overall Jahn Regensburg did everything what was in their power. Now, the team have to deliver if they want to stay in this league next year.

Giant Hertha BSC has a large lead to third place and according to this they can play much more relaxed as they can do under pressure. But on the other side it is very dangerous because if coach Luhukay can not hold the pressure high on his team some of the players give not always 100% and this is very important in this league. Sure they are huge favorite in this one but it would be not such easy as expected. They came to Regensburg where they play in an old stadium, also the cabines are very small and also some other things are very very different as they know from Olympiastadium or from 1.BL matches. Overall Luhukay gets more and more options back as many players are back from injury but it is not expected that he changes much as more he counts on the team who was very successfully at the end of 2012. One important missing they have with Peter Niemeyer. His replacement can be Kobiashvili who is back after a half year ban but he is the more defensive variante while Muhktar stands for more offensive play. Also the fight for the one position on the wing is not decided as with Bastians and Holland are fighting two players there for starting lineup. Upfront Ramos is set to play but can not allow to be weak as with Wagner and Lasogga who is back after his huge knee injury he has some players in his neck.

Normally this is a clear thing for Berlin but after the winter break it is always difficult to get rolling and also against a team with many changes. Also they are on a long streak without losing, sooner or later they are due. I think this would be closer as many of you expect. GL
